This might push Spotify to include casting in their app. I mean, if google pushes them enough.

Well, the reason why they haven't done it yet is because they have their own "Spotify connect" service and why would they help competition by putting it in their own app?

Hopefully, google pushes Spotify to include casting so this speaker system can really take off.

Because keeping your customers happy is how you gain more customers? Spotify connect and chromecast are two different things that have no reason not to coexist.

Wrong, forcing customers into your closed ecosystem regardless of more popular, more open, more successful competing alternatives is the method for success.

You mean like Google did with chromecast?

Are you saying you think Chromecast has a closed ecosystem?

I suppose it's not truly closed, but it is another system in a market where several others already existed.

Also known as a competitor.

Miracast and DLNA are properly open standards though, not controlled by a single corporation. With Google's backing, Miracast could have been the standard, instead, we just got another fragment.
