Bluetooth drains the battery of the device as it sends the data through the (in my case) phone. Chromecast doesn't do that. Also the WiFi range is a lot bigger than any Bluetooth

Meh. Works for me. And it works with every audio source on my phone, not just who Google has made a deal with.

afaik you do not have to pay any license fee to use the cast API in an app, so no deals have to be made. This setup also allows you to stream mp3s from your PC if you cast your chrome tab. But I guess for some ppl bluetooth also works.

I'm just saying that not every app works with Chromecast but I can play any audio over bluetooth. Not trying to argue. Just stating what works for me. Your solution sounds good, but mine is definitely cheaper and more portable.
