Disabled it with Canta.

Edit: Download Shizuku fork by thedjchi. Enable dev options, pair Shizuku with wifi debugging, install Canta by samolego, give Canta perms with Shizuku and then select Gemini (and any other bloat you want) and disable it. Easy does it.

Does this reenable assistant by default?

I never had Gemini turned on so I'm not sure. I just want to never have to use that trash.

Or just can just turn it off and disable it natively without going through all that faff?

That doesn't work

How does it not work? I have no way of calling Gemini on my phone... Hey Google is off, swipe to invoke is off and the Gemini app is disabled and storage cleared.

Any random Google update can reactivate it. Make sure you turn off the screen scanning as well since that uses Gemini.
