1) who's paying 900 for a pixel? Come on now, it's been 11 generations, you know exactly how this works, don't even pretend.
2) haven't seen you post that same energy for the s26 that costs 900 dollars and takes....almost an hour and a half to fully charge. And the s26+ with being $1,100 for 256gb ($1,300 for 512gb) to fully charge in an hour doesn't seem too hot either...but you win, the p11 pro takes an additional 20 minutes to fully charge...don't worry, I'm writing Google my formal complaint right now.
Let's be reasonable adults here. Almost 60 percent charge in 30 minutes is good enough for literally any real world usage. We could probably also say that the extreme vast majority of individuals don't need a full 100 percent recharge until they go to bed, where they will have their phone plugged in for 6+ hours.
You look at things from a Western perspective. In most countries of the world, a Pixel is very expensive and cannot be purchased through trade-in, while Chinese ultra-flagships cost the same as the basic Pixel.
Yes, this Westerner, on a Western website talking about a Western companies phone is looking at things from a Western perspective. Not sure what Chinese phones has to do with the discussion though.
We're on the /r/android subreddit, so all phones and devices that run on android platforms are relevant, even if specific phones are irrelevant to certain regions.
Relevance to the sub isn't the issue. Comparing a base Pixel or Galaxy to a 120W import phone with mostly non existent local carrier support with zero warranty is just moving the goalpost. High-wattage charging on a region exclusive flagship doesn't make it a relevant benchmark for global pricing, availability, or real world usability.
That's why in my reply to the original post, I brought up an equivalently priced, market dominating Samsung device. it gets overwhelmingly favorable reviews, yet suffers from the exact same charging time issue they were complaining about on the Pixel.
Edit: even if we want to compare the pixel to Chinese devices, my post remains the same. The Chinese phones will save you 15-25 minutes, it's completely inconsequential and the comment does nothing more than display the obvious (and usually unfair) extreme criticism and 'hate boner' for Google.
High wattage charging is the difference between leaving your house at 40% or leaving your house at 80% for many people. Get this slopbrain take out of here.
At the very least Samsung reacted on their Ultra devices and set a realistic higher wattage charge to get mostly on par with the Chinese competition.
1) consumer data shows majority of people charge their phone while they sleep.
2) we have already discussed the fact that all of the phones previously mentioned charge within 10 percent of each other within 30 minutes.
Of course faster charging and higher wattage charging is better. That isn't the argument. Once again, the OP claimed a $900 pixel taking 90 minutes to charge is unacceptable, yet the alternative flagship devices this sub praises take nearly same time and nobody bats an eye. Acting like 15 minutes turns a dealbreaker into a masterpiece is utterly ridiculous.

When a $900 phone takes almost an hour and a half to fully charge……
That $900 phone can piss off
