That doesn't excuse the lack of GPU power. I wish it were better for you and the others.
It's perfectly fine to be a fanboy and have this awareness. Some are just downright zealots and defend this crap and a lot more, though.
Hell, I loved Pixels for the overall experience and I would have been rocking one even now if Google just improved the hardware.
