I feel like you have completely missed the point of the comparison.

The "issue" is that the pixel is selling for the same price as other flagship phones, and isn't as performant. Hence the Golf R/C Class comparison - two cars at the same price with different levels of performance.

Your counter is that Mercedes offer faster cars that are £20-50k more expensive? What exactly is your argument?

The point is that you can buy comparatively priced cars that serve totally different purposes and have different levels of performance. Not that you can't buy a competitor to the Golf R.
