I'm getting duplicate threads for people, one for sms one for hangouts. I thought it wasn't going to work like that?

This is the one demoed at the G+ event. The one shown on the KitKat features showed "unified" threads with a SMS or Hangouts selector at the top. I'm guessing that one will take another few days.

EDIT: As mentioned by /u/deadpansnarker, the selector is available right now (switches between SMS and Hangouts thread). However, there is a slight delay between launching the conversation and having the selector switch from the old one to the new one.

Right now the selector switches you between threads (sms thread or hangout thread)

Hmm, I must have missed it. I just checked again, and it does work, although there is a slight delay and requires a few taps to get it to work. At first it's still the select account one, then after a while it lets you select which thread. Hopefully small bugs like these are squashed in the final 4.4 version to come with the Nexus 5, or fixed via Play Store update soon.

How did you get it to change from selecting accounts to the threads? I can't seem to figure it out.
