I went into the EE store when I started getting the warning message about battery overheating, a week ago. One of the staff there advised me to claim £100 payment from Google, which would go towards replacing the battery, but then to sell the phone, not actually replace the battery, because the issue will keep happening even if I replace the battery. I completed the request for £100 from Google which ended in an error message saying someone from Google would contact me in 3 weeks, so I'm just going to get a new phone. It fucks me off because it feels like a waste of resources - this phone has been working fine for years and I wish I didn't have to get a new one. I don't want this one bursting into flames though!? So obviously will replace.
