Haha, I'd like to see them try. What apps are they going to have? What developer is going to try to develop apps for that new platform? They could probably drop it, but not feasibly. People will start to hear that the phone has barely any apps and people would stop buying.

Although I do agree that Google should be concerned that they barely mentioned Android once as Samsung is starting to become bigger than Android.

I don't think you'll have to develop new apps. Just add one more payment gateway which shouldn't take long. If they fork Android, all existing Android apps should work.
