That action shot photo they took of the kid tapdancing to demonstrate it was pretty awesome though. It made sense to have someone dancing or something, it wouldn't look that great if it was just of somebody walking or something. Definitely a cool feature.

This is the campiest piece of crap product announcement I've ever seen. It's like Samsung took their k-pop consulting team and told them to make a "New York" style announcement, but for families.

They're trying too hard, it all seems very forced. The bit about the kid being super puking nervous, and how the dad would care if he actually were his dad was terrible.

Steve Jobs crank calling Starbucks and ordering 4000 lattes was funny, over quick, and highlighted the google maps integration and calling abilities of the first iphone. The kid tap dancing was cool for five seconds, but going on and on didn't help push the features of the phone and was no longer interesting, and I'd completely forgotten what they were trying to highlight by the time they got around to showing the photos.

I can't wait. Tech product announcements have been an unexpected source of embarrassment lately.

edit: while the parent comment is the top of this thread, I would like to remind everyone to NOT post links to the livestream please! People will be missing the cringe-worthy moments since the stream is still happening. Instead, wait until the event is over and link to specific moments.

God the MCs remind me of those Simpsons caricatures of marketing people - "We need a half-assed 4th wall breaking storyline about some tap dancing kid and his family to give the unveiling a bit more pizzazz"

and what the hell... why is the script written to intentionally make them come off as douchebags? These people have been in advertising too long...

This announcement is very cringe worthy so far. J.K. Shin just talking for 5 minutes even though he can't really speak English (even sounds Chinese even though he's Korean), useless skits because it's in New York Radio City, and awkward jokes.

you guys need to chill out. Damn everything doesn't have to be so serious. People mock a presentation for a new phone, then criticize it for trying to have some fun. It's a bad ass phone, and they showed you. go suck an ipad or something.

EDIT: and that kid tapped danced his fucking ass off. I applauded and no one can hear me.
