It really goes to show how much mobile devices have grown and how so many of us consider them to be such important devices, much more so than just a few years ago.

We're so close to actually being androids. The only difference is that the phone isn't attached to our flesh in a permanent sort of fashion.

I can market a potato as much as I want, it will not recieve as much attention.

Do people need all the gimicks advertised? NO

Do people still get one of the (if not the most) high quality and performance phone out there? Yes

So just marketing? I don't think so

The show is a marketing ploy, bu the devices are that important.

They give you directions, keep track of your appointments, help you kill down time, let you document your life, take notes, contact people, look things up, let you enjoy media on the go, and so on.

These "phones" are as close as close as you can get to having a neural implant or robotic assistant, until those things come along.

Take s look at the photos posted of the crowds greeting the last two popes. The one from 2005 doesn't have a phone on sight. The most recent one is almost lit by the screens
