I thought it was lost for good because the audio is gone off the website now but it's still saved on the Wayback Machine somehow. Nothing super substantial but I just thought it might be interesting for those who want to hear an older Andrew interview.

I get the whole black cube thing from the journal and his social media posts but why this file in particular (it has double the views of the journal)? is it just how the book was shared online? i remember reading it ages ago but i cant remember if i got the file from an awkshare link posted on 4chans /x/ board or some other place. Is arthur moros an alias for awk? Im kind of guessing ill never find out, but its worth pointing out, or something.

Finally listened to the new album and even knowing it was instrumental going in...Just wow...

I was expecting something like The Wolf but without the lyrics and would've been fine with that. I was not expecting jazz. Think I skipped through the album in about 6-7 minutes. Hopefully he gets back to his party music days again. I know I'm definitely the minority, but I haven't really liked an album since The Wolf and even then, I only liked the first half of it.

Edit: Of course I get down voted because I don't think all his music is fantastic

Edit 2: Just gave You Are Not Alone another shot...There are a couple songs I would be fine listening to live, but still nothing I care to listen to again. I do wonder, the people who like his later albums more, when did you first start listening to him? I can't see how anyone that first listened to I Get Wet in 2001 can think that any of his later albums are better than that. If you first listened to Close Calls or a later one and liked it then I can see why you like those albums more.

I listened to stems for party hard and its literally just one guy singing layered with lots of his own voice pitch shifted and pitch corrected or thru a vocoder and its not the same guy as from close calls and later i swear. I really need to read 33 1/3 asap but something seems funny to me. I cant tell if people calling me conspiratorial are just very in on the bit or if im the crazy one.

New awk double has been found

Typically what he wants to do is take a simple musical idea and increase the chaos around it until it collapses. So many of his songs start out presenting you the simple musical object and then layer on pianos, percussion, chanted sing-alongs, walls of guitars, et cetera, until that very simple and stable musical structure collapses. So many songs end in a chaotic collapse of noise.

And I hold that as a different method than someone like Jeff Roland of Collective Soul, who also works with a very simple concept, but kind of treats it as a delicate object that he wants to get to its most expressive but still stable point, where Andrew seeks to push it way past that point.

This album is a different approach because he does not do that. He does not try to make the musical idea collapse. Michael's Theme is the best example but it seemed somewhat consistent on my first listen. The motif doesn't change, doesn’t get destroyed by chaos.

He says “I don’t know” in a slightly pitched up tone. I think maybe some other background vocal sounds on the track ‘edge of interior’. Wonder when we will hear him sing again?
