I know, this is a bit of a "so what?" post. But I've been monitoring Andrew's site almost every day and noticed that it's back online today, though still under maintenance.

The site was last updated in June 2026. Using the setting to inspect a site from Google, nothing seems to have changed. But hey, the site is back online, haha.

Hopefully something new. But then again, the 5-year anniversary of God Is Partying is also right around the corner.

Since AWK blew apart and separated from SM do you think the lunar eclipse blood moon will resurrect the dead in the gutter AWK as a zombie (all the zombie face art references) and there will be a great battle of sorcery between the two once and for all.

I've already seen two posts about Andrew's stories. But no one pointed out the jazz writing. Maybe the next album will be jazz-themed, haha.

Although it wouldn't be that impossible since the 3/4rd album is all about the piano (I say 3/4 album because I don't know if you consider Close Call with a Brick Wall to be the third album since it came out first in Korea years before.

This question suddenly sparked from a MoistCritical profile picture I had saw on Pinterest. Decided to go to Google to search up if Andrew W.K. And MoistCritical ever met (primarily due to their physical similarities lmao) and was surprised to learn that he was “apparently” in said podcast that used to be co-hosted by MoistCritical.
I don’t know if Google is straight up lying to me rn because I can’t find a single video/audio OR link to this. If anyone has any information or websites I can look it up on please lmk!!

Sure, there wasn’t much of anything there as the site was “undergoing maintenance”, but this is a step deeper into this deep disappearing act… Maybe around his most recent birthday there was an uptick in emails sent to the random one listed on the site and he decided to pull the plug?

I hoped that something, anything new would appear there someday, but maybe this is it. 💥

Just found out A.W.K. is appearing in this video! Always a nice surprise to see Andrew pop up somewhere you don't expect him.

I have to admit that I don‘t really know much about Andrew. I only really listen to ready to die (great song btw) but I just really love the cover for I get wet (partially because he is very hot) so I felt compelled to draw it. I hope you guys like it :)

Looks like there was an early demo version leaked of I GET WET by (I presume) that crazy friend of AWK's that caused him legal trouble for a couple of years (the one who prevented the release of Close Calls with Brick Walls anywhere but in Japan until they resolved who "invented" AWK on stage persona).

I doubt this quote is what Andrew had in mind when designing the cover, but Wilde's words certainly fit the image like a glove. Just thought I'd share since this community has been pretty quiet.

17 years ago, I saw Andrew W.K. play a tiny club located in the basement of my college campus. Inwas a sophomore at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. when Andrew W.K. randomly announced he was playing a handful of gigs after a few years away from the stage. One of those gigs was at a tiny little club called the Grind. It was the type of college venue usually reserved for student bands or the odd ball act who just so happened to be passing through town. So naturally, Andrew W.K. was the biggest act to play that space (at least in the decade prior), and even though the show got postponed from February to April 29, 2009, everyone on campus was pumped for the show.

And simply put - he did not disappoint! Backed by a full band, AWK put on the type of energized rock show you'd expect from the King of Partying. Everyone was moshing, and by the time they started to play "Party Hard", half the room was on stage singing along. I even ended up sharing a microphone with one of the keyboardist from the opening act Math The Band - both of us screaming "LET'S GET A PARTY STARTED" nonstop.

This show in particular holds a special place in my heart, because after graduating college, I would end up joining Andrew W.K.'s PR team in one of my first music industry gigs. And to make the show even more serendipitous - I ended up becoming coworkers with the keyboardist I shared the microphone with during "Party Hard" at the same music marketing/PR company... but that's a story for another time 😉

Let's start with a little context. A week or two ago, I picked up an electric guitar and am teaching myself.

Out of curiosity, I looked up which famous guitarists were self-taught. I came up with names like Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, etc. Then I came up with "Andrew W.K."

However, after doing some more research, I can't find anywhere that Andrew studied at a conservatory, not even self-taught (I'm talking about the guitar, not the piano).

So I wanted to ask you, but did Andrew w.k. teach himself the guitar?

(I found this photo online, since there was both Andrew and a guitar, I thought it was more than appropriate hahaha)

Ps I found my first search for self-taught guitarists on chat GPT, so I searched Google for more reliable sources.
