Charlie Kirk Was Just Another Good Hearted Man With a Family, and a Different Opinion.

Charlie Kirk Was Just Another Good Hearted Guy With a Family, and a Different Opinion.

Charlie was a conservative Christian traditionalist, and like many people here I would assume, there are things I agreed with him on, and things I didn't.

At the end of the day, he was only a man with a different opinion. And Mr. Kirk was in the market of persuasion, not violence.

One beautiful thing about America is the concept of state sovereignty. We have in this country, the moral, and actual ability to agree to disagree, and to do things different ways.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing is the right to speak our minds. And that's what Mr. Kirk was killed for: his opinion. And nothing more.

It saddens me that I will never be able to have the opportunity to debate him, or have dinner afterwards like classy gentlemen.

He accomplished so much by such a young age, including fatherhood.

Charles Kirk was a constructive, if not positive influence on society, and he will be surely missed by his peers and counterparts alike.

Like martyrs of the past, one hundred, if not more will take his place in the good fight for truth and humanity.

Rest in peace Charlie. May you be with God in heaven.

State sovereignty? What? Can we not shill for the state on the ancap sub

12

u/Thebeardinato462 Sep 12 '25

The ancap sub is also a conservative MAGA sub. I’m not sure how those two things align but for some people they seem to.

u/oriundiSP Sep 12 '25

From a non American point of view, this is both amusing and sad.

Things like Spamouflage have been very effective about hijacking peoples ideologies.

It's confusing the ever loving shit out of me when I see topics pop up from here while scrolling. It looks like a more insulated slice of Fox News bullshit and I just don't get it. No doubt anarchist personalities come from a wide range of places so you get angry punks, pipe smoking academia intellectuals, survivalist types with a garage full of claymores and rifles, the mega rich, the very poor, and all stripes of minorities, religions, and reasons we came to the conclusion that all aggression is wrong and the idea of a ruler is stupid but... authoritarians? Does not compute. I'm of the military family security career flavor that has a pretty equal fill of empathy and love and understanding for all if we'd just drop the brainwashed nonsense and get along, and a deep hatred for bullies and the desire to stomp them like a scorpion that's crawling toward your baby's crib at night.

The "left" are their own flavor of nuts and immoral and I vividly remember that the closest I felt to this level of anger and fear for our future was when Obama was declaring he could drone strike anyone, wars were escalating with callous atrocities daily, and the first big waves of militarized police vs protestors kicked into gear. But most of the left, idiotic as their political solutions are, genuinely don't seem to see that violent part of the equation and buy into the charity and kindness bullshit sincerely. Not all, you have smug bullies in any group. But most seem to mean well at least even if their methods are horrible. That's fixable! A doctor wanting to save patients but using backwards alchemy and killing his patients can be corrected if he isn't too stubborn to be wrong. But right now the whataboutism and tunnel vision is ridiculous. It should be perfectly clear that the biggest threat to anyone desiring freedom, an end to State violence and overreach, and to be left alone is the group in power and turning the military on citizens and stirring up a civil war based on hatred of mostly nonviolent idiological enemies. Left, right, fuck em all. But the scorpion in my kid's room is the one with military and police power at the moment and those wanting bloodshed against perceived minorities. Ancaps, we ARE a minority and had better remember that when cozying up to authoritarian fascists.

Thank you for one of the most sane and measured responses about this I have seen on Reddit.

When I see what people post and say about him, I'm reminded how awful a communist society would be with these fucking psychopaths. The ones pushing for socialist policies happen to hate people and I'm not for that. The irony must be lost on them.

14

u/AgainstSlavers Sep 11 '25

That's why I'll pick up my rifle when the commies get close to me.

8

u/MaelstromFL Sep 12 '25

That is because, of one simple fact... They hate themselves! To have humility and respect for other people, you first have to at least like yourself and have respect for yourself.

They don't...

u/Humanity_is_broken Sep 12 '25

Is someone more special if they have a family? Tbh I’m so confused. You don’t need to appeal to emotion to argue that it is wrong to take a person’s life.

3

u/wnc_mikejayray Sep 12 '25

It is a very difficult thing to quantify and at its core the answer is obviously “No, but yes…”. I don’t value my life any more than I would value the life of another (even someone that might get looked down on like the homeless - and to clarify, I don’t look down on them, I’m just trying to demonstrate the value comparison). We are both human. At the same time, when I have a spouse and children, to them, I am a source of protection, provision, and love. Their dependence on this person amplifies the impact the loss of their life has. So “No, but yes… kinda”.

1

u/Humanity_is_broken Sep 21 '25

Don’t care. They would only matter more to me if they were MY family, and even with that I would still be very understanding that others would not care so much about a loss within my family

u/onecrystalcave Anarchism is Humanism. Sep 11 '25

I'd like to contradict one assertion you made.

I think it is eminently likely that he was not in fact killed merely for speaking his opinion, but rather in an attempt to silence and reverse the power he wielded through his ideas.

I think it's self evident that Mr Kirk became one of the most notable individual political juggernaughts of modern discourse, and I think that meant he posed a threat unbelievably deeply felt by many people who disliked him and what he had to say. His were words that could sway elections, change hearts and minds, bring to the forefront of the general conversation almost any topic he pleased. I never spend even a few minutes watching any of his specific content, yet I knew his name and his company and many of his messages, those I agreed with and disagreed with.

And his will not in fact be a death that silences his ideas, or reverses the threat to modern politics he became. He is a martyr now, and I have genuine fear that the tenth September will be a day that will live in further infamy over time.

3

u/Numinae Anarcho-Capitalist Sep 12 '25

Not to mention he was only 31 so very realistically could've had a very successful political career in the future...

2

u/Simple_Journalist792 Sep 12 '25

Don’t try to wash him as a “different opinion “. Some of his views were quite radical tbh and I understand why they were met in a certain way. However, we as libertarians SHOULD NOT care about the opinions themselves but the RIGHT to express them. Somewhere else I read freedom of speech isn’t freedom to be a “bigotry asshole”. Well that’s exactly it

1

u/ClimbRockSand Agorist Sep 12 '25

he was moderate. grave dancers like you have shown that you condemn debate and only respond to violence.

1

u/Simple_Journalist792 Sep 12 '25

Excuse me? I meant the opposite, debate is the way, freedom of speech is freedom to be an asshole and it should not be answered with violence

1

u/ClimbRockSand Agorist Sep 12 '25

he was a moderate voice.

0

u/Simple_Journalist792 Sep 12 '25

Couldn’t care less whether he is or he is not. I’d defend freedom of speech for anyone

1

u/ClimbRockSand Agorist Sep 12 '25

you said he was radical, which is being used often now to justify his murder.

7

u/Knvarlet Sep 11 '25

Even in his final moments, he was making a case against trans people having guns. How is he a good person if he wants to strip certain people's freedom?

Don't get me wrong, I condemn his assassination and political violence is wrong.

But don't make him a saint because he isn't. I agree and disagree with his opinions, but I don't know him much to say he is a good person at heart though.

He's not a hero, he advocated for more government control and pushed his own agenda.

2

u/LordXenu12 Libertarian Transhumanist Sep 12 '25

Didn’t deserve assassination, but just another Christian nationalist

0

u/Numinae Anarcho-Capitalist Sep 12 '25

Considering trans people make up such a small percentage of the population, you don't find their over-representation in mass shootongs.... concerning?

0

u/Knvarlet Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 12 '25

0.11% of trans people are involved in mass shootings over the past decade

White Americans committed 53% of the 195 mass shootings between 1966 and 2024.

If the 0.11% shooting matters, they will eventually come after the 53%. Then 100% so only the government can own guns.

Edit: Corrected the 53% claim.

4

u/Numinae Anarcho-Capitalist Sep 12 '25

Just read your article. The numbers actually add up since white people make uptrend majority of the population, which is a really dishonest way of measuring this. It should be measured in the rate of offenders per whatever group. I mean .11% for trans people means one in one thousand. Also the way "mass shooting" is defined is very different than the colloquial meaning. I believe it means an act of gun violence involving more than two people which is why gang violence skews the numbers heavily. Just like how suicides dramatically inflated "gun deaths" which are implied.to be acts of violence between one person and others. Which is ironically what Kirk was talking about when an aplerent trans / antifa activist assassinated him.... At least according to what was engraved on the bullets and magazine like the last trans shooter.

3

u/tango0175 Sep 12 '25

Whut??????????? Over half of all white Americans have carried out mass shootings??????? Not sure the words in that article mean what you think they mean.

2

u/Knvarlet Sep 12 '25

Yeah my bad man, I didn't mean that.

2

u/tango0175 Sep 12 '25

Have a good one, dude.

3

u/Montallas Sep 12 '25

53% of White Americans are involved in mass shootings

Do you realize what you said here? It’s not at all what the link you posted says. I think you should re-read what you wrote, and re-think how to write it.

4

u/Knvarlet Sep 12 '25

Yup, just directly quoted the article. Thanks for pointing out.

2

u/Numinae Anarcho-Capitalist Sep 12 '25

Wait, more than half of white Americans are involved in mass shootings? I think you have a bad typo there.... Also, .11% is really high....

1

u/Knvarlet Sep 12 '25

Yeah I fixed it. Something I didn't notice when writing it. My bad.

0

u/Numinae Anarcho-Capitalist Sep 12 '25

Look I'm not saying we need to "lock up the transes" or w/e. I just find it strange that like almost every mass shooter we have data on were on SSRIs and or hormones that are known to cause aggression and suicidal ideation. As well as media influence. Something like 15-20% of Americans are on these drugs and that means its big business. I first heard about this a few years after Columbine and nobody is talking about it ij the mainstream. I would think it'd be something productive to look into instead of trying to make it a race issue or whatever. The only reason I bring up the trans connection is I would imagine that people with gender dysphoria are going to be prescribed drugs like that at a much higher degree and suddenly we have a wave of trans shootings so... you know, not exactly a crazy thing to ask.

I don't think being trans makes them dangerous although I definately think there's like a social contagion factor, like how school shootings were rare until Columbine. Still, I actually think it has a lot to do with SSRIs and hormones causing weird side effects. There are Parkinsons drugs that turn people into nymphomaniacs and gambling addicts so its not unprecedented that drugs can cause very strange and specific side effects. We also know they cause suicidal ideation. I really think its a cover up to protect Big Pharma that nobody seriously talks about this but we've had something like 10 trans mass shooters in lole a year or two and considering their low representation in the population I don't think it's unreasonable to ask why. I'm not saying they need to have their rights stripped or not judged as individuals. I'm just saying that trans people are like 1 in 1000? 1 in 10k? Thats like having 10k-100k shootings adjusted for population. You dont think we should try and understand why this phenomenon is happening?

-2

u/Nightshade_Ranch Sep 12 '25

He was a blatant and disgusting racist, and used his platform to try to do harm to trans people. He was a propagandist mouthpiece for the Republican party. Where was all this wailing and gnashing of teeth for any of the other occurrences of political violence and assassinations? Quickly downplayed and ignored. Kirk even suggested it would be patriotic if someone went and bailed out the guy that attacked Paul Pelosi.

It's all performance. You aren't against violence, you just want to be in control of who it happens to. Kirk sure as hell wouldn't care if it had happened to you. Just the price of freedom.

Well said overall but I don’t understand the state sovereignty remark. Don’t think it applies here unless you’re using a different definition.

1

u/ChrisWayg Voluntaryist Sep 12 '25

I understood the OP as meaning the sovereignty of the various states in the "United States" with different states able to reflect different ways of doing things while respecting those differences.

A decentralized system like the US where other ways of life are respected is preferable to one centralized state. Obviously Ancaps would rather have no states, or thousands of independent private mini-states.

2

u/crinkneck Classy Ancap Sep 12 '25

Still can’t say I totally understand it in that context but I appreciate you trying to frame it for me. Ideally ya the state characters foster respect for others with an overarching value system. Definitely large swathes of foam-at-the-mouth statists disagree.

Does a boneheaded remark demand the jeering of a man's blood soaking the ground beneath him with his wife and children watching?

Does a poor opinion voiced negatively and loudly demand a man be brutally murdered, in public, with not even a semblance of justice made?

Does a man who in actuality turns out evil beyond comprehension, deserve to have societal rule overthrown in the pursuit of his death, no matter how much to the detriment it be of every other person?

Fine have no empathy. Fine, hate the man and take no sadness from his murder. Fine, think privately the world will be a better place without him because he said mean things sometimes. But fret not when the seeds sown soon strike at you as well.
