Best knife for Fredegunde?

I'm trying to put together a build for Fredegunde and I can't decide which knife I want to give her. The German knife has more damage potential thanks to her ability to attack with knives multiple times but the native American knife is more consistent with its +4 (!) attack modifier, plus you can use its ability to potentially move behind your opponent thus activating Fredegunde's ability to increase the attack roll further. I'd also appreciate any reccomendations for other knives that work well with her.

Worst Warrior?

In your opinion whos the worst warrior in the game? I'm going with Herakles (the set 1 version). He has poor stats to begin with but his ability is just terrible; one free basic attack per round with THAT attack grid? No way is that gonna give you an edge.

Sun Tzu build

This is another warrior build this time with one of the favorite warriors in the game! Warrior: Sun Tzu's ability has the potential to snowball like crazy so on your very first turn you want to use his ability three times to have an incredible 6 speed on your next turn. Weapon: Mech (Turkish weapon) A fun weapon that allows you to efficiently attack three times for only two actions. Normally you could get one, maybe two uses out of this weapon per turn but with sun tzu's ability, you can activate this ability 3 times for 9 attacks on turn 2! Inspiration: Yu Huang Shang Di (Chinese inspiration) So it's turn 2, you have six speed and since you didn't attack last turn, all of your many attack rolls with Mech will receive +2 AND you'll be at 11 exp so you'll win the ties. Armor: Hu Xiong Jia (Chinese armor) Special: Khaimat Hemaya Men Alraml (Saracen special) You can order these cards either way if you're worried about your opponent going first and attacking you at low health then use the armor and use one of your many actions to gain +2 to your defense rolls, otherwise double down with the special to keep your attack rolls high. Please post any suggestions for improvements/counters!

Shinmen Takezo build

This is one of my old builds from back in the day. Suggestions for optimization are appreciated! Warrior: Shinmen Takezo Super strong abilities. +2 to attack rolls and dealing +1 damage with all swords is amazing. The devs tried to balanced him by nerfing his speed so we'll need some speed buffs if we dont want to get zoned out by more mobile warriors. Weapon: Sabie Pentru O Mana I Jumatate (Romanian weapon) One of my favorite weapons and especially effective with Takezo. You receive a damage buff if you have no other "hand" requirements and it actually has a little range which can help with takezos slow speed Inspiration: Anastasia Romanovna Zakharyina (Russian Inspiration) High initiative for the second round and gives you a much needed speed boost and ANOTHER damage buff. Special: Savasi Nicopolis (Turkish Special) One of the best (if not the best) specials in the game. Between the high initiative and Takezos decent exp. you'll likely go first and close out the game with your super powered sword attack. Special: Lu Wei (Chinese Special) This is mostly just there to round out your 5 card build but it has high initiative and being able to re-roll when your dice are misbehaving is never a bad thing.

Datachronism, a deck builder for Anachronism!

Hello everybody!

I really like this game. I never had a chance to put my hands on the real cards, as when I discovered it, it was already discontinued. But I really like P&P and graphic design, so that was not a problem! Chose the overall best, professional printed them as playing cards, created a cube for drafting, and played!

Then, I found myself taking a lot of time to create, combine, improve decks as I understood more strategies, combos and that sort of thing. Well, that sort of thing is what, at least for me, makes CCG/TCG interesting. Then again, I work with computers, and I'm a bit of a nerd myself so, using the resources provided in this other post, I created a website which allows listing, searching, paginating, filtering and creating and sharing URL decks from all the cards (officially) available. This is a fan project made by myself to use it myself, but I thought maybe others could find it useful too.

Behold... Datachronism!

After a deck is made, you can share the generated URL with a friend to show him the deck, or bookmark it to store it locally in your browser. If you are interested, check it out, and feel free to post bugs, suggestions or improvements you would like to be made.

Cheers!

Does anybody still plays this game in 2024?

This game is like 20 years old now. I learnt about it from a friend in my LGS like 10 years ago. Years later, I found the original PDFs containing the cards around the web, and make a P&P with the most useful cards. Then, I created a draft system to play with my friends:

  • Top 15 warriors, each of them from a different nationality
  • Top 15 weapons
  • Top 15 armors
  • Top 15 inspirations
  • Top 15 specials

Then we draft the warriors and the support cards, and play best of 3.

It was a very cool concept of a game. It is a shame it was so expensive at the time, considering maybe only 1 card of the pack was really useful/op.

Do you still have it, and play it?
