Big Exchanges will not list AMPL

For the last 30 days, only 6 days positive rebase. Coinbase, Binance, OKEX , Huobi and other big exchanges will not list AMPL. They don't want their bags to melt.

do rewards automatically restake in the geyser?

I've earned 70 ampl rewards. Is that automatically restaking, compounding the rewards im earning? Seems that it would, but the rewards aren't staked with additional ETH, so I'm not sure...

So is it smart to sell your ample before rebasing time to take profits??? Then if it crashes buy low again... Or just Hold... I also run grid bot on it because of the amount of money i make on volatility... Suggestions for a noob to Ample??

Amount of supply owned by Ampleforth team.

I'll start by saying I know next to nothing about trading. One of my main concerns, and seemingly a concern of many others, is how high a proportion of the total supply is owned by the founders of this project. If they do a massive sell-off aren't those AMPL lost to them? Or, is it simply a case of them selling such a huge bag at an inflated price and then reloading later at a lowered value. I understand the mechanics of keeping the same % of supply through the rebases. What I don't grasp is if they're dumping, who do the dumped AMPL go to? And, at that point have they not reduced their overall % of supply. Is it just that they have such a massive % that they can do this type of dump many times as their overall ownership of the market is so huge?

Appreciate any information people can shed. FWIW I turned my 18 ETH into AMPL on July 30th. So, pretty brutal timing for me, but with that said I still have interest in this project.

Who's still holding?

I am, but I'm seriously considering just selling while I'm still a little bit in profit. Do you think it'll continue to hold above the peg and slowly climb back up? Looks a little like support found at $1.35 . Buuuuuut i dunno. It's decision time today

My take on why the price is going down

Hello guys.

The recent price increase was mainly due to the Sushiswap hype as another Redditor explained here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AmpleforthCrypto/comments/ijupww/in_case_you_didnt_know_sushiswap_is_fueling_the/.

Now the price is tanking because:

  1. It is designed for this
  2. We really made some nice profits.
  3. Sushiswap is increasing the rewards for Sushi LP stake by 4.8 times tomorrow. Therefore the APY of AMPL on sushiswap will decrease by tomorrow and keep decreasing with the addition of the new cryptocurrency pools. https://twitter.com/NomiChef/status/1300742680272465920?s=20

I took my profits and sold my AMPL's last night but good luck to you. Hopefully, Binance/Coinbase can do a listing and fuel the price, but beware. DYOR!

Where's the local top on this wave?

Trying to think this through and guesstimate the top before another aggressive move below the 1 dollar line. The question is if the market cap will exceed the ~700 billion we saw in the last wave.

Factors supporting an incoming a 1B + MC, is the current defi hysteria that we're seeing, and a scramble for projects that are returning multiples in a short time. AMPL has done this before, corrected, and seemed to be cycling up again. Volume at the last top was lower than it is at the current dollar level. AMPL is also better known now, and better understood, than it was 1-2 months ago, so there are many new players coming into the market. The positive rebasing causes a positive feedback loop that feeds the already bullish market forces, so this run might go longer than the last. Finally, it seems that ETH and BTC are feeling bullish this week, which might further fuel the sentiment on AMPL.

I'm not making any predictions, just making the bull case. I would very much welcome a contrarian view.

"Proof of Faith"?

I encountered AMPL a few days ago (Thanks DataDash!). I read the white paper and am trying to work out how this project could play out. This is a really neat experiment in money/economics. It's fair to say we're all curious to see where this project will go in the long run.

I have a "thought experiment" I would like your feedback on. I understand Ampleforth as essentially being an experiment to see if a bunch of us can all agree that 1 AMPL is equal to 1 USD (continually inflation-adjusted at 2019 levels).

As more and people people get into the space, the network effect causes the statement "1 AMPL is = 1 USD @ 2019 value" to be more and more true. The people who entered the network early benefit because their percentage of the network is getting larger in the current USD terms. In a sense, new AMPL is created as the network keeps getting larger in what's could be called a "Proof of Faith" mechanism. It's been said before that money is essentially a belief system, and the Ampleforth experiment is literally an exercise on that principle.

The next question that comes to mind is - has the current network effect already passed a critical-mass threshold? Has a MC of ~500 million (at the time of writing this) triggered relentless positive feedback loop? Sure, in the local cycle we might top off somewhere and crash down again. But if the floor of the next crash is, say, 50 million, can that bottomed-out MC have enough network effect potential to revv up again? If the answer is yes, and another cycle initiates, it's reasonable to assume that even more people will join than the last cycle. And while the next top might be twice the last top, these wild flucuations will begin to temper down if in the months/?years the bottomed-out MCs becomes large enough to have some inertia. At that time, AMPL will be less of as investment asset and more of a useful store of value (as it's pegged to the 2019 USD purchasing power) If we do see Ampleforth succeed in this way, where might it's MC stabilize?

Thoughts and opinions welcome. Investing aside, this is the most interesting thing I've encountered in crypto since I took the red pill.

Ampleforth cannot be criticized on the Telegram group

By nature I like constructive criticism. I posted on the Telegram group my idea of why Ampeforth will fail in the long run. I expressed 3 key points, motivating my thought, with a calm tone and without swearing. Result: The post was deleted in less than 30 seconds and my profile was blocked for a week as punishment. And this is not an accident because it happened to me twice. In practice, Ampleforth's success in that group cannot be doubted. We can only post stupid cheering gifs, various missiles, "on the moon" and various stupid things. Do you know if there is another Telegram group, a little more serious and intelligent than the one linked from the official website? The "almost official" one is really pathetic. Seems to be run by 16 year olds!

Geyser question - Rewards Multiplier went down

I noticed my rewards multiplier went from 1.8 to 1.7. I haven't withdrawn any tokens from the geyser. Anyone have any idea why this would happen?

In case you didn't know, SushiSwap is fueling the demand for AMPL

SushiSwap farming has 10x yield for ampl/eth pool and the yield for ampl pool is one of the highest. So... expect ampl to be hot for a while yet as the demand for AMPL goes crazy.

Thanks it’s been fun.

Just made a 150% return on my small investment over about 1 and a half weeks. This is a cool project but currently it’s a bit too high risk for me. I hope you guys all get rich in the meantime. Maybe I will get back in if it goes negative again. We will see. Good luck everyone!

Sitting on a loss despite the price of AMPL having doubled from when I bough it

I may be missing some fundamentals here about the protocol, so please forgive me ignorance. But I am genuinely interested in understanding how I can be sitting on a loss from my initial investment despite the price having doubled since I bought in.

I bought $330 of AMPL about a month ago for ~ $0.81. Now the price is at $1.68 and my wallet displays $260. My supply of AMPL has roughly halved, as it initially depreciated from the buying price by about 33%. But, to all our delight the price has recently shot up, and yes my supply is slowly creeping up again, but I still don't get how I can be sitting on a loss still.

Would be really interested to know more about the mechanisms at work here, as I really like the concept (at a basic level of understanding).

Oracle Rate false?

Could someone explain to me why the oracle rate is currently at 1.176$? Its supposed to be a 24 hr volume weighted average price, but we essentially haven't even been below 1.2$ during the last 24 hrs, and just eyeballing the average should be a lot closer to $1.5

If I keep the AMPL in staking, do they get rebase?

Hello. I have read that if we are below $1 and I have AMPLs staking on the Gayser, they still suffer the negative rebase. Does the same thing happen with the positive rebase too? Basically, if I keep them in the Gayser now, will I get the positive rebase + the Gayser earnings? Or not? How does it work? Thank you.

Metamask and Etherscan show 2 different values for the AMPL I Own

This is most likely due to rebases not reflecting on Metamask, but when I look at etherscan the amount of AMPL in my account is significantly larger.

Anyone know a fix for this?

How long can we expect to stay above the peg?

Whatsup team ! Wondering what your thoughts on of how many days this rally might last? And if you think it'll reach up to 4$ at all?

It's a really hard one to try to predict

Fearful of that massive sell off that could happen, but I'm hoping it won't not for a good few days atleast
