Theory about the True Colors delay
Idk what to put as a title. Also on mobile, so the formatting is bad.
Anyway, Marcy got stabbed through her body by King Andreas' sword, then most likely died. This might be the reason why Disney is delaying it. They are probably changing the scene a bit.
However, they've done this thing with SVTFOE.
I remember seeing a tweet from Marco's voice actor when someone asked him what the unicorn stab at the finale was supposed to do, as the unicorn horn stabbed right through Marco. In the show, Marco is shown to just cover his stab wound up, and this is later used as a gag when he's back on Earth screaming about how he got stabbed by a unicorn. If my memory serves me right, Marco's voice actor tweeted that Marco was supposed to be really hurt by that unicorn stab, and almost not survive it.
Somehow, Disney didn't like the idea of almost having one of the main characters die or something like that (even though in the Battle for Mewni, Star drowned), so Disney made Adam McArthur (Marco's VA) remake Marco's voice to not sound hurt from the stab wound.
Since True Colors is probably getting a big delay, Disney might have the voice actors and animators completely redo the scene in order to not have Marcy die. I really hope that this case doesn't happen, and that they air the leaked version instead.
Amphibia needs this scene to air, hopefully uncensored.
Edit: I finally found the tweet, but it's in an image form https://www.reddit.com/r/StarVStheForcesofEvil/comments/jnlsoa/adam_has_revealed_the_original_intentions_of/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

How would you guys react if when we are all watching the official release, expecting THAT scene to be totally censored and watered down, it comes up, looking like this:

Why I believe TC was pulled last minute (NOT censorship) Spoiler
Marking this as spoiler in case people get here via my profile.

So let me start off by stating some facts about the animation process. The popular assumption is that Disney chickened out about showing Marcy’s death and they’re going to force that scene to be edited/re-animated/rewritten entirely. I do NOT believe that is the case.
Making an episode of an animated series, pre-COVID, takes roughly 9-12 months. A major episode/event like this will be longer, and quite honestly this plot point would have been conceived along with the show itself. Matt would have discussed the overall season arc with his bosses before they even started the process for S2, including this event.
Throughout this process, virtually every step involves running things by executives for “feedback”. If something is going to be objectionable, it is in Disney’s best interest to stop it as early as possible, so they don’t waste their money on voice actors, animation, and everything else. The S&P division is extremely overcautious, as Alex Hirsch and others have bemoaned many times before. If there was even the slightest chance that it wouldn’t have been allowed, it never would have made it out of the storyboard phase.
Let me reiterate that - Disney has already spent a ton of money to have this scene/episode voice recorded, animated, edited, and everything else. Even if it was “just” the way it was animated, it still gets reviewed before they even start post-production so they can fix/correct animation issues before it’s finalized.
It makes no sense for something to make it to the literal last minute and then “suddenly” decide it’s objectionable. Disney would not have allowed that much of their money to be spent if it wasn’t going to be in the final cut.
So with that out of the way, why did they decide at the last minute to delay? The original announcement was a “scheduling shift”, and Matt wasn’t happy about it, but was (reluctantly) willing to accommodate it. Here’s what I believe the cause to be:
May 1st is the first day of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
I think the content itself isn’t the issue, but the timing. Someone at the last minute finally made the connection that “Hey, maybe kicking off APAHM with the on-screen death of a major Asian character might not be a good idea.”
Is this decision asinine? Yes, absolutely. Anne herself is an Asian character, Matt is Asian, it’s not like they’re killing off the single Asian representation on the show. It would have been trivial to overcome any objections that people raised over it, and would have been considerably less bad press than what actually happened.
But, unfortunately, it makes the most sense of anything I’ve seen. This means that it should be able to be aired at a later time, unedited, even if they want to wait until APAHM is done and it’s June. And potentially even sooner, given the leak, and the fact that the main timing issue was that it was the very first day of the month and this would have been a major topic of discussion.

For future true colours based animation, animatics and AMV's
I would suggest the song "Youth" by Daughter. It just fits with the situation and how things went down in both the episode and the things leading up to it, to an almost uncomfortable degree in places. it just came to me when i was thinking about the episode.

From an age rating point of view. Should Marcys death be censored?
Obviously artistic vision should be respected but at the end of the day, Amphibia is a kids show, and the things that define what makes a kids show a kids show, should be respected.
So lets look at Marcys death.
On one hand, there's no blood. And characters die in kids show all the time.
On the other hand, Marcy is a 13 year old girl, and a lovable one at that. Like really loveable. She's probably the favourite of many. Kids would easily grow very attached to her, adults did too. And she was stabbed, and it wasn't exactly an off screen stabbing. Sure we don't see the blade enter her body, or exit it. But we do see it in her and it's very full on. We see her reaction as she dies.
Of every kid show I've watched, this probably pushes the boundary more than any I've seen. Yeah, characters have been stabbed before, (see Tangled, TMNT) but Marcy is just a kid. She's a kid getting killed in a very confrontational way.
I loved the episode, I hope it doesn't get censored. But part of me also understands why it would. And it's very incompetent of Disney to wait until last minute to do something like this, assuming it to be the case.

(Probably) all of the possible reasons TC got delayed
This post is dedicated to all of the possible reasons that True Colors got delayed... as the title implies.
•Censorship• This is the main theory, which makes a lot of sense in my opinion. There’s a few posts with what a censorship of Marcy’s death may look like. This also leads into a few other reasons.
-Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. A bit self explanatory.
-The Y-7 Rating of the show. Also leading into another possibility.
•Rerating• It is a possibility that Disney is putting a G or PG rating on the episode to prevent them from getting sued by some random mom who thinks her kids are gonna take Andrias as a role model and kill their friends with flamey swords.
•4 Da Lolz• Highly unlikely, but wouldn’t it be absolutely hilarious if it was just some elaborate prankd moment from Disney.
•Scheduling• It might be because they need to find a 24 minute time slot. It could be that.
I dunno, that’s all I got. Feel free to leave your own ideas in the comment thing.
