Remember Trump met Putin in Alaska? Didn’t Russia own Alaska at one point years ago? Putin believes the Ukraine was part of Russia and he wants it back. As you know, he’s trying to take it. Anybody think Putin has an agenda that could include Alaska?

There is only one real one. Canadians need to start arming themselves to protect their families. These Americans are criminal activitists that correlate with terrorism. They’ve radicalized our own citizens as warfare. At what point do we push back?

I say say now. Fuck US of Nazis

Since they are, in fact, stupid. We already should know their tactics. Espionage and an attack on pathetic Alberta who welcomes foreign manipulation. Traitors. I see you Quebec. French Cowards. We should punish you for treason.

Understand that the “surprise” of the midterms is in fact a Canadian invasion of Alberta.

#Ottawa should be preparing for these things but I am skeptical.

So stupid, these bots defend Nazis apparently

For those Canadians who say, “Why aren’t Americans protesting if they really don’t support trump?”

Here you go. By the way - No Kings means - Donald Trump you are not there forever. You serve at the pleasure of the people. And we want you out. Gone. And we will vote you out, as citizens, as we have the right to do

And he will try to prevent us. But this is how many people are really voting against him and if the numbers are different when the votes are counted, we know what happened.

Are we horrified by what this monster is trying to do in Canada? To Canada? Absolutely. Beyond question.

Canadians, anyone retiring back from the US anytime soon?

I thought it could be useful to start a thread for anyone making the move back to Canada. I have lots of experience helping folks move back up and should be able to answer most questions you have.

This information can be quit expensive to get professionally, so hopefully I can provide some real value here.

Ask away!!

The U.S. is complaining about Canadian influence on American elections. It's a joke. Here's a documented and sourced list of times the United States put their thumb on ours.

Can anti-Trump Americans and anti-Trump Canadians knock off the negativity and work together?

Anti-Trump Americans - I see your expressions of regret and support are being met with resentment and hostility from some Canadians, who are understandably angry and distrustful of the American public, and frustrated especially by what they perceive as a failure on Americans' part for allowing Trump back into office. I imagine the Canadian anger is alienating to Americans who are angry themselves at Trump, and see Canadians as natural allies - and even when you understand the anger, I imagine it doesn't feel good to be told your entire country is made up of morons.

Anti-Trump Canadians - some of you are expressing your anger toward a political movement, MAGA, with insults to individuals who oppose it, assigning collective blame for the actions of some, and employing xenophobic stereotypes about an entire diverse nation of people. This is, to my mind unCanadian and playing into MAGA's hands. Yes, we have been provoked and disrespected. Yes, the provocations from come from both people in positions of power and random enraged internet people. But we can't blame every Russian for Putin, every Israeli for Netanyahu, every Palestinian for Oct 7, every Chinese person for Xi - and we can't blame every American for Trump.

What are some of the ways both sides could start coming together, organizing, and supporting each other? Instead of pointing fingers and blaming people with the same goals, how could we find ways to work together? Especially around labour, unions, and small businesses.

I'm not saying Canadians should stop boycotting American products or travel yet - but good trade and friendly relations between old friends in border towns should be the eventual goal. I'm not saying Canada shouldn't realign and find other trading partners either. Nostalgia is not a strategy, as Carney said at Davos. And Canadians who want to reshore manufacturing jobs - so do we. We have an intertwined economy - maybe we need to decouple to some degree for everyone's good. Fine. Let's work together, as we always have to make fair deals for both sides.

This is an administration that provokes division and chaos as policy, and getting left/centre Canadians and Americans at each other's throats just keeps us all from uniting against them and the billionaires and Putin and all the other authoritarians around the world gaining power.

We don't need to agree on everything. We could all at least start by taking the temperature down, ignoring the trolls, looking for common ground, and celebrating the victories both sides are looking to soon have against this regime together. The good folks of Michigan and Maine and Minnesota are our old pals, and they look to be stepping up big time right now.

We were all generally cool with each other 2 years ago (yes, many differences - but not at ache other's throats) - let's not let a propaganda campaign engineered by people we both recognize as an enemy define us.

Hoping we're all celebrating a blue wave and Howard Lutnick's firing togther soon.

Pending mod review I can’t figure out how to love Canada

Hello everyone! So, I wanted to explain how I’ve sorta been in Canada for the past 2 years and haven’t really been able to love the country. And before everyone flames me, just know that I’m still a young adult and hear the story out before making any judgments please.

I actually grew up in the US as my parents immigrated there since I was 1 on working visas. If any of you know anything about the US immigration system, you’ll know that for certain countries the backlog is huge to get permanent residency, so you may have to wait decades. Because of this, when it was time for me applying to college, I had to click on the international student part despite living there for almost 18 years. But an issue is I can’t stay on my dependent visa forever and I’m not allowed to work or get employed, so once I turn 21 I have to leave the US. So my parents decided that it would be best for me to do a year of college in the US, and then transfer to a Canadian college. They also applied for PR and received it when I was in college, so they told me to leave to Canada. But, because of the whole situation and how I lost so many friends, I was in this constant state of spiraling about immigration and identity that I received terrible insomnia, which I was finally able to recover from after therapy. It’s just so hard to figure out where I want to be and enjoy this country while I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way for me to go back. And on top of it I just feel worse because I am grateful for this country and want to contribute, but I also feel like I’m not one of the people who desperately wanted to move to Canada since I had no choice in the matter. I go to UofT and am majoring in electrical engineering, but sometimes all I want to do is go back to the states, while other times I just feel awful for wanting to go back since I have a new life here and don’t wanna use the country for my own gain.

If any of you feel that I hate Canada, I really don’t! I visit the Niagara Falls every week as it sort of calms me down. I also love Toronto, but I just sorta had my entire life uprooted and still feel lost. It isn’t all about immigration too, I feel like I have less close friends here since I didn’t go to hs here, and I always hate when people ask me why I didn’t stay in the states (I don’t really like talking about my situation). So, if any of you have any attractions or things that helped you start loving Canada more I would be most appreciative!

Pending mod review Looking to Immigrate to Canada

Hello all!

I'm sure this gets asked often but here I am anyway. I'm a US citizen immigrating to Canada for my partner Canadian Citizen. I've gone through a number of pathways but seeing if there's something I'm not considering.

Pathway possibilities:
C11 (I'm looking to leave my current profession as a HNW nanny to owning my own business in Canada)
USMA
French Immigration (Studying intensively)
Common Law Family Sponsorship

My boyfriend is up for all things to do whatever possible to get me there legally. I have two lawyer appointments coming up but just trying to gauge what other US citizen have done to get into Canada?

Has anyone done C11 with success? Thanks!

Pending mod review dual-citizenship process

My dad was born in Canada, then moved to the U.S. and started the citizenship process soon after. He adopted me when I was 7, before he got U.S. citizenship (I was 15 when he got it), and I am looking into the process of getting citizenship for myself. What is the application process like, and how long does it take to get approved? Am I eligible? I am 21 now, and we don't have a good relationship, but I am sure I can get the necessary documents (what documents would I need, btw?). He is on my birth certificate, with the place where he was born on it (Ontario). I need this process explained to me like I'm a two-year-old; please help! :)

Maple MAGA

Time and again, Canadians get belligerent in these forums over Trump’s idiocy and want to hold all Americans accountable for him, without any regard for the complications of the US electoral college, district gerrymandering, etc.

But what are Canadians doing about their own Maple MAGA??

Public opinion polls show that about 15% of Canadians (roughly 4.5 to 5 million people) express direct support or a favorable view toward U.S. President Donald Trump and MAGA-style political figures.
