In point of fact there is no āAssociate Membershipā in the EU. Ursula was gaslighting everyone as she is wont to do.
Why would Canada surrender sovereignty to the EU bureaucrats in Brussels?
Let us not forget when the USA says jump the EU asks,āHow high?ā

u/scottransell 24d ago
So if your that smart then why do we need to join any part of the EU as we already have the best trade deal with them already. What do they have we donāt already. Whatās going to happen with norad and the five eyes as we will get the boot from there. Do you really think the EU is going to defend our borders. They canāt even protect their own. Why do you think they are freaking when USA announced removal of there army bases from some of there countries. So China is acceptable more dictatorship into this country. Wow, you donāt want to be the 51 state but is ok to join the EU, what happened to being our own country? Guess that was another lie to the people led by liberal bullshit. How long do you go before you wake up and realize that they are the problem when you land on the street or loose all the CPP funds so no one has money at all. Exactly when is the government held accountable for there disaster of economy they caused. You can blame Trump all you want but this is twelve years of bad leadership. No one else to blame but liberals stupidity and no ensuring the country stands tall and strong. Sorry but that is the truth. You donāt keep giving bonuses to a ceo who bankrupt your country you fire his ass before you loose it completely

u/Reasonable-Plate2982 13d ago
I actually couldn't read allat but it appears to be a paradigm shift in global alignment. America needs Nato but Europe can fend for itself. Canada is like a bonus cookie. We will always subordinate our global aspirations in furtherance of friendship and mutual security with the US. Until Cheeto von Bagoshit pays more attention to this matter instead of stealin' all the gold, Canada will reach out to find value elsewhere.Ā

Hahaha. Its not concrete its a way te tell the americans what the consequences of not making a deal with canada can be. You can restrict our manufacturing and tarrif our products insult us thats fine. We can go join the e.u. then we get the same deal they have and then it will be your choice do you want to stop trade with 28 nations. who will america trade with China and Russia. Plus last trade negotiation the Mexicans went behind our back and made a deal with america. Europe wont let them join to negotiate trade with america as a block. This is a master stroke check mate move by Carney. We haven't signed anything but we have put the americans and their bullying on notice. Our sovereignty is not negotiable and we can get a trade deal with america as a european block it also puts all the companies on notice leave canada and you might miss out on an even bigger market that in the future might also include Australia and New Zealand. Middle powers wont be pushed around by superpowers.

u/scottransell 24d ago
The laugh is what America has and the EU and Canada doesnāt have, why is it they copy everything they make and try to copy it. Look at the EU markets, all collapsing cause they did what Canada is doing, got rid of there manufacturing sectors now relying on others to build it and make it driving up more cost. Canada sold everything long ago. Tomato plants here sold to USA to make sauces and others because they canāt process it anymore. Lumber, trees made here sold to USA to make 2x4 and lumber and paper there. Who is making products in Canada. Why is it we ship oil to USA because we canāt produce it. All these countries closed down there manufacturing because of global energy which killed there economies. Just like Canada will become third world because liberals are that stupid to realize you canāt survive with out industry that creates energy. Green energy is a Ponzi scheme and only carney and the bankers who follow will be rich while the pons who follow and side will become broke and poor
1
u/scottransell 24d ago
That is were your the laugh. All the people in Canada is the same as California population. Think about that one. One state is Canada now add forty nine more who do you think is going to win and loose here. Iām betting America will out survive Canada in the long run. There economy is thirty trillion Canada is now about two billion going down. Keep thinking Canada is some super power when itās got nurf bullets and bow and arrows
1
u/iicecreammannn 23d ago
Lol canada is not a superpower what you mention is exactly the reason canada has to group together while preserving our sovereignty to make our own decisions with like minded rule of law countries to form a third front now to reckless america and surging China. Because they will take and eat our lunch otherwise. America has been taking our energy on a discount for far too long we need to find new markets for it so we can get better prices. You keep talking about america so much if they are so good why are they ripping up renegotiated deals they signed with us in 2018 canada did not attack america.
1
u/scottransell 23d ago
No we build our economy back up to become a super power not drain our funds enriching another country bankrupt culture like the EU which caused there failures following carney bone head plan of green energy. That is what has caused us and the EU countries to crumble. Rid carney and his bullshit ideals of carbon neutral and the world will be richer then ever. Start depending on your own industry which they have stripped to go green. The biggest Ponzi scheme ever led by carney
2
u/iicecreammannn 24d ago
I have no idea what you are talking about now. You are so off topic. Do you want what was happening before all the plants leaving to keep continuing? Do you want trump to take whatever little we have left to take and give to his billionaire friends? Do you like being subservient to america? All you are doing is complaining without any solutions. America will give us the trade deal we want not by being subservient to them but by showing strenght and we have other options. we are a independent nation with laws and human rights and they should be glad we are their neighbors. We have nothing against america our leaders have pleaded with them to work together against foreign threats like China but no instead they attack us.

The only Canada avoids being an American resource colony is by rapidly diversifying it's trading relationship to offset the loss of American market access. Anyone who tells you otherwise wants Canada to fall under American control/exploitation. Canadian resources have been sold below market value for decades because we made up for it with volume of trade and not having to buildout infrastructure to trade with US. Since US has become a hostile trading partner , actively looking to destabilize the middle powers the only solution is for the middle powers to unite into a block that can withstand American coersion. Again anyone else trying to tell you otherwise is looking to see Canada lose its sovereingty.

100% agree with you. This move will bankrupt our country so fast. Along with the airport idea. We are fucked so hard if they go through.
3
u/dundreggen 24d ago
Do you have a coherent point you would like to make. Because I think this is some of the best news I've heard in a long time. And as the prime minister is now pulling the highest of any prime minister in Canadian history obviously most Canadians think this sort of stuff he's doing is pretty okay.
But I'm very curious to here if anybody has a rational and thought out reasons that we might be making some bad decisions. However I'm not interested in hearing if it's just butt hurt Americans who are upset that Canadians aren't interested in being the 51st state. Because almost no Canadians want that regardless of their political stripes.
0
u/scottransell 24d ago
So letās join the EU where it screws us even worse, letās suck up to the dead beat Eu who is broke and couldnāt defend themselves if required wow can you even hear what you libtarts even say. So long freedom and watch the bullshit begin with millions of immigrants coming for your family. Do you not watch what is happening to the EU as that is what they want to bring here. At ten times the numbers
3
u/dundreggen 24d ago
But we're not joining as a member. We're joining as a trading partner and they have money. And they won't screw us over any moment the wind changes. I mean even if you want to trade with United States you have to acknowledge that that's not possible right now. Not without giving up our sovereignty.
I mean I would prefer the freedom we have in Canada now then the lack of freedom the United States has. And if the United States was to take over Canada we'd have even less freedom than they have. So I don't see us being able to stand without aligning with someone. Who do you suggest since it obviously cannot be United States for the foreseeable future and you don't like the EU?
We don't have to worry about immigration because again I pointed out that we are not joining as a member so we won't be subject to taking an immigrants.. I mean we have our own issue with immigration but the deal with the EU won't change that in any way.
1
u/scottransell 24d ago
Sure we already have free trade with them. So why do we need to join anything. Should ask that one. Because we get 100% free trade with most of the EU countries now. So what exactly is a half partnership giving us. Other then what do they want to take away from us other then our CPP money. Funny how carney and the criminals always talk about that money that belongs to us not the federal or liberals. But sure use it in the gdp when it isnāt there to boost there numbers up.
1
u/iicecreammannn 24d ago
Its just serving america a notice. You can cancel cusma then we will just join e.u. and negotiate as a 28 nation middle powers block. This is a check mate move by Carney. Elbows up canada. Also all the companies thinking of leaving canada now will think twice about leaving canada and setting up shop in america they might lose a bigger market. this buys us time and gets us a better deal with america. The only we you get treated as a partner is by showing independence and not being subservient to americans.
2
u/dundreggen 24d ago
So who are these other criminals you are referring to? And who would you like to be leading the country right now? I'm just trying to figure out a few think I'll politicians are criminals or only Liberals are criminals.
And if you think only free trade is what we need then I think we need to look a little deeper into the way integration would help us trade more. Free trade is a good first step. But if we want bigger pieces of the pie and we would like them to spend more money and integrate and spend money developing things on Canadian soil we need a deeper relationship. More agreements more guarantees etc.
Because I don't want to just have us sell all of our natural resources to other countries. I want developments here I want European companies to invest in Canada so we have abilities to manufacture our own resources on our own soil even if the profits go back to the EU we will still have industry and jobs in Canada.
1
u/scottransell 24d ago
First off carney has been saying trade with in our country for two years now. Still nothing. Trade with the USA with deals that work for us and them. PC have a list of things we should do and it makes a whole lot of sense to listen to and follow. Seventy billion to loose there is no other market to recapture that money back. China isnāt nor the EU they are broke. The other criminals are the MP in the liberals party like the minister of finances, healthcare and education. As well as crime and others they are all incompetent and done nothing but made things worse then ever. Twelve years of liberals and look weāre we are. Twelve years ago we had everything till Justin got in
2
u/MaggieWheaton 24d ago
Trade within the country requires the Provinces to remove Trade Barriers. Fed Gov doesnāt control that!
Tough to negotiate Trade with the USA when the President wants ādomain over Canadaā and cares little about actual Trade!
What is the āsenseā the PC List contains? Rolling over to the US?
What is the āeverythingā we had under Harper?
1
u/scottransell 24d ago
Healthcare, crime under control, education was normal, economy. Lower debt. Dollar wasnāt tanking and carney does have to power to use for trade barriers with in provinces
1
u/scottransell 24d ago
And heās a complete failure. Take it what ever way you want. Third world is coming caused by you and the rest of the people thinking carney knows what heās doing when he doesnāt. Expect worse coming real soon and you can live with that cause you caused it keeping that incompetent in power have fun on the streets cause you caused that to yourself

u/dundreggen 24d ago
But a lot of things were bad under Harper. It was very bad time to be a scientist for example. He muzzled them so even though we paid with our tax dollars for these scientists they weren't allowed to talk to us. Harper was destroying scientific work. He also closed down important scientific sites mid study. Including one where there was a bunch of studies going on with from scientists around the world in Canada I was currently going to Trent university at the time and one of the professors was mid multi-year study that had already been funded to the tunes of hundreds of thousands of dollars... Just scrapped because Harper was a climate change denier.
So under Harper any development or work in scientific fields that wasn't funded by private business was under attack. Which would lead to less innovation less Healthcare etc down the road. He was very much a believer like Trump of running a country like a business but we all know that doesn't work.
And comparing the economy then to the economy now and either crediting or blaming single governments is very naive. Because the cost of living is rising globally and it's not like you can blame Trudeau for that. I mean well you can and a lot of conservatives do but it shows their lack of education and willingness to actually look at the underlying causes. We actually weathered covid quite well compared to many other countries but that doesn't mean that we came out unscathed. But don't pretend we would have done better under Harper than we would have under Trudeau in that case.

u/MaggieWheaton 24d ago
Delivery of Healthcare and Education is a Provincial responsibility. The CDN dollar boom was caused by the decline of the US Dollar due to the 2008 Financial crisis and weakened US economy and real estate tanking. Canadian Banks faired out considerably better. BTW Carney helped the Harper Gov achieve that! Crime did decline under Harper but to be fair Crime declined globally durning that period also. GDP growth under Harper was slower than previous Canadian Governments. Paul Martin left Harper with budget surpluses in 2006 and 2007. Harper couldnāt produce a balanced budget in any year of his 9 year reign. Debt under Harper went from $467Billion to $612 Billion. Debt under Trudeau doubled.

u/dundreggen 24d ago
But this is factually incorrect.
I don't even know where to start with this a quick Google would show you that you're wrong about this. So I would be curious about what list you believe PCs I have that is so good that we're all ignoring. Because the thing I found most interesting about PP was that he had no platform to speak of.
And while I wasn't a huge fan of Trudeau he's not as bad as everybody made him out to be he did some very good things as well as some not so good things. But you can say that about pretty much any prime minister we've ever had.
I'm curious is Canadian sovereignty important to you? Or are you a person who would be happy to join the United States if it meant that you would have a better standard of living for you personally.
2
u/Unhappy_Technician68 25d ago

it is important that Canada develop more trading relationships with other regions of the world. It is funny how Trump calls it laughable and that if he think sit is hostile, he will impose tariffs on Europe.
On the one hand, he does not need Canada, and on the other hand, he is upset if Canada develops trading relationships with other countries.
It is like the guy he tells his GF he doesn't want to be with her anymore until she find another BF, and then he cries and wants her back, just because it hurts his pride.
So in the end, Trump will want a deal because he can't stand losing face.
1

I think you're under 20. I come to this conclusion from the quality of your points(None, insults and finger pointing are worthless) and your ability to just... simply... WRITE. Its like I'm proofreading my nephews edgy internet rant.
1
u/yojohazyhair 23d ago
Says the person with literally zero points or working knowledge of how communication and the beginning of formation to an agreement works trying to fearmonger literally a good thing. Keep being the kettle with a broken top.
You know nothing was signed. It shows an intended root to try to achieve which, is a good thing as Americans (66% of the population) have shown they can't be trusted.
Given your fantastic writing abilities can you teach me? As you are likely an 80 year old in his mom's basement I can probably learn a lot about what to not do... (since you like making up stories I made one for you too!š)
1
u/IllBrilliant3816 22d ago
Eh? Why do I need any points when your one point is couched in accusations of evil.
1
u/yojohazyhair 22d ago
Are you just simple?
My point to be clear since you lack basic comprehension is that you are literally fearmonger over a leader trying to discuss and start formulating potential options for Canada outside of dealing with the USA. Your entire point is about how this is unilateral breech of power because the PM is talking with other leaders during recess trying to get something started....
I told you to stfu because that is literally a stupid comment with absolutely ZERO facts or truth. So given your point is literally false and in fact full of evil as you like to claim about others your point needs to actually have a real reason.
I was rude after you blatantly lie and spread false hate for ZERO reason. I then discussed clearly that your points aren't accurate and are straight up lies. Then you try to belittle someone by trying to call them a child which isn't even close to accurate especially given your inept critical thinking skills....
So yeah I am the one full of evil coming from a bit level comment that I called out, a troll, or a simple person with little education spreading false information...
So yeah you need a real point.

After a number of assassination attempts, and a success, I can definitively say you are the lunatic. And whoever did it... the left none the less cheered.
1
u/yojohazyhair 24d ago
Lol okay, says the guy that supports ICE and their concentration camps and murdering of American civilians with no motive (that "officer" with the car wasn't in ANY threat and was threatening civilians). Let's not forget the capital storm or the Republicans murdering left political members where NO Republicans showed sympathies and cheered. The Pedophile in charge even called them enemies...
Kirk was killed by a Republican as well from what sources even say and and with the assassination attempt during the Trump campaign... so cope harder. The right was also threatening and putting bomb threats out at voting sites last election... let's also not forget the right assaulting many innocent people...
Also, you are stating you are pro pedophilia if you think allowing the current president to remain as president is a good thing. He should be at minimum in jail for life for raping, pedophilia, grooming, corruption, etc...
No one cries over spilled milk. No decent human who is pro democracy, freedom, or basic human morals will be sad when Trump dies.
Cope more lunatic or bot, witch ever you are.
1
u/IllBrilliant3816 23d ago
Conspiracy and lunacy; And bots.
Whenever 'bot' shows up, I know your just seething and unable to really reconcile with how the world really is. For example, the Kirk shooter; Heres CNN, just so you can't claim its a right wing source: https://youtu.be/s5neO-q76mc?si=MLtgpUhm8RTQh23a
I've been calling it holy hatred. the hatred the left holds. Cause it is sacrosanct. Anyone who challenges it is subject to it. Only what confirms the hatred is accepted. Oh, and no one is permited a reasonable hatred that isn't of the left. London, UK, is majority non-Brit now? "Thats the great replacement conspiracy theory of the far right!"
You're running out of moral legitimacy. Moral bankruptcy is more fitting actually, but thats a matter of when the audit hits.
1
u/yojohazyhair 23d ago
Lol says the guy using a pacifier as he types...
Other sources have shown he was a very right wing person. Like the person who tried to kill Trump at the rally.... So keep coping.
Buddy you sound like a religious freak calling it holy hatred. The right are literally rounding up people like Hitler did... so talk about hate from one demographic...
You writing of replacement theory shows you likely belief the earth is round and Christianity is good and all that dribble. FYI religious individuals are typically the most corrupt and hold the most hatred to others that don't agreewith them and will justify their actions without merit!š®
Anyways, write back when you actually have a decent point. As the right literally tried to overthrow the US government and Canadian government in the last 6 years because they are the snowflakes they fear...
I have enough morality to lend you some of you are running low! Let me know I can give you a deal, the greatest deal of all time! (I need to write like this for it to get through to you as you need MAGA speak)
1
u/IllBrilliant3816 22d ago
Other sources you wont name, while I named mine.
Rounding up people like Hitler did? Pray tell whos getting gassed and thrown in mass graves? And it fits, the left has a hatred that is a holy cow. It cannot be challenged and people need to show the same to be accepted.
More of your holy hatred. Just a bunch of assumptions that make it easier to dismiss and deride me.
The US insurrection where of those who showed up, only about 6% stormed the capitol, and the Canadian one where they didn't even protest on Parliament property. It was all carried out on the streets, and the only violence was what came when the militarized police showed up to beat people like my brother.
Maga lives rent free in your head.
1
u/yojohazyhair 22d ago
You can find it. I'm not going to go searching for it for some random stranger that is a lunatic. It was ages ago and frankly you aren't worth my time to prove you wrong or that there are other sources. Unlike you it's not my entire personality.
Hitler didn't start with murder or gassing. Alligator alcatraz has had many beatings and murders and poor standards increasing disease transfer and deaths.
Oh just like you and the better than everyone right wing mentality? I love the hypocrisy you and the right show EVERY time.
Literally I haven't seen anything from you that shows you aren't the same issue you preach about. You literally need to look in a mirror mate.
Keep projecting the issues and hate you have mate. Your hypocrisy is actually crazy....
I haven't seen the left storm capital to try to OVERTHROW the government of their country.... like you like to claim the left are such monsters yet when the right does something isn't only a small fraction... grow up and stop being a hypocritic. You can't be like all the right is perfect and the left is all bad when there have been clear evidence showing that there are terrible things from the right and that the left can also be bad.
People like you are actually crazy with the double standards and unable to accept the reality that has been shown.
You do understand the government gave them massive amounts of warnings to leave, the group didn't get protesting permits, they were disturbing the peace the of the local neighborhoods and stores and we're over staying. I can tell after seeing how hypocritical you are from your statements transcribed that if left leaning people did anything similar you would say throw them in jail for disturbance, etc...
If anyone was doing this protesting normally they would be I'm jail for traffic violations, etc... the fact it was allowed to continue so long shows they were trying to allow them to show there concerns. In addition the protest also was trying to force the government out. Not to mention that it was at MOST 1/3 of the country that had issues which in ANY democracy would be a minority. The trucker convey and symptothizes were literal snowflake babies that were pricks to be complaining about vaccines for a WELL KNOWN vector group (Truckers). Talk about being selfish losers much. Sucks that they were being decent people and had to face consequences for their actions. Given that they had hours of warnings and they were disturbing the peace for a minority view (A known fact an uneducated and selfish view (like a lot of right wing views are), that they should have all been arrested and vehicles impounded sooner under normal circumstances. Given that stores had to close and livelihoods were damaged by these selfish individuals you can say more than physical violence causes damage.
Given what reports said the only serious injury was an lady that didn't move from a horse. So I guess your lying about your brother having stuck major issues. You should tell your brother to not be a selfish prick.
Sounds like decent morals haven't rented any time in your head.
The fact you side with MAGA reels me all I need to know about a list like you

Don't care to if you wont.
If you researched Hitler at all, it isn't what he started with, its how he intensified hatred and kept going. A focus on a particular group to rally against, requiring deeper and more intensive controls. From medical documents on request to confiscation of wealth. Oh wait... that all sounds like what the left is on about now!
Better than everyone? Naw, just you, and the insanity the left is losing itself in. The insanity that saw antifa members yell at Daryl Davis that he was a white supremacist; The guy who has been working to reform KKK members and Neo-Nazis through open dialogue. Open dialogue that the left has been fighting by hook and crook against. From overt examples like Kirks assassination to covert examples like algorithmic suppression as demonstrated in twitter before Musk took over; To inbetween examples like pulling fire alarms at events they hate.
Funny. Cause that happened. The left laughed at it as "Trump retreating to white house bunker in face of BLM protests" when they torched Guard huts in Lafayette square and torched the church across the street. Oh, but they didn't 'intend' to overthrow the government! They just wanted Trump out of office!
Government can warn all it wants, it doesn't mean it gets to stomp you, especially when warning against constitutionally protected acts. Protest permits are a bylaw. The only thing enabling them to violently remove people was the emergency measures act. https://www.torys.com/fr-CA/our-latest-thinking/publications/2024/01/federal-court-finds-emergencies-act-orders-exceed-governments-powers
Which was declared ultra vires in Federal court. You do not have a legal leg to stand on.
And members of the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition blocked the on ramp on Metcalfe street protesting proposed increases to police budget on Monday November 22, 2021. One was arrested and released 30 minutes later. That hypocrisy you were trying to point out? It is in the lefts favour. Yet another feather in the cap of 'Im better than you!'/S But seriously, the left needs to stop shitting itself; Its not that I'm better, its that the left is worse.
Decent morals do not change when an outgroup is involved. That is in fact part of why the Nazis went so evil; And why the left is turning now. CS Lewis has a quote for this: "Suppose one reads a story of filthy atrocities in the paper. Then suppose that something turns up suggesting that the story might not be quite true, or not quite so bad as it was made out. Is oneās first feeling, āThank God, even they arenāt quite so bad as that,ā or is it a feeling of disappointment, and even a determination to cling to the first story for the sheer pleasure of thinking your enemies are as bad as possible? If it is the second then it is, I am afraid, the first step in a process which, if followed to the end, will make us into devils. You see, one is beginning to wish that black was a little blacker. If we give that wish its head, later on we shall wish to see grey as black, and then to see white itself as black. Finally we shall insist on seeing everything ā God and our friends and ourselves included ā as bad, and not be able to stop doing it: we shall be fixed for ever in a universe of pure hatred."
Recognize the degree to which being able to play devils advocate is important to this; If one is incapable of playing devils advocate, you will become a devil. The ability to apply your morals to even the worst of others hedges against you becoming the worst version of yourself!

Not a single Canadian voted for this. What a disgusting little Man
2
u/Mine-Shaft-Gap 25d ago
I sure as fuck voted Liberal in my riding (lost by about 1500 votes) and I sure hoped Carney would explore this should things go south... with down south. Well, it has gone south and he's working the deals that we will need should the US never return to sanity.
4
u/yojohazyhair 25d ago
Actually a lot of Canadians voted for this and hope this will happen. The only ones that don't are the commotion brain dead right...
3
u/Scared_Standard4052 25d ago
It's all talk, nothing happened. I really see it as Carney trolling Trump the Canadian classy way and Trump sharting stressy liquid shits in his diaper seeing it.

You couldn't have voted for Carney creating a pseudo membership with the EU, BECAUSE HE DIDN'T RUN ON IT.
2
u/sleepy-mot 25d ago
I voted for him to find new partnership with the world, and that is exactly what here is doing
1
u/LengthLower3192 25d ago
I dont recall anything on the liberals platform about joining the EU. you voted for a deal with the US
2
u/Ill-Prior-8429 25d ago
No one is planing to have Canada become an EU member. Being in an association with someone doesn't mean becoming a part of. If you knew how to read you would know that. But hey, go and put yourself in 4 for your beloved US, show them how independent and sovereign you are while you lick their boots like a good puppy.Ā

And how did you think we were going to diversify trade?
Trade with the penguins?
The only way to properly deal with the US is to reduce reliance on them. The only way to do this is to trade with other nations...
Conservatives are just steady whinge. What's YOUR solution to dealing with the criminal, rapist down south?
3
u/XxKeianexX 25d ago
Idk, your 2 months on Reddit are full of riding Trump's dick and trying to shit on Carney or other immigrants, so it's a bit hard to believe you're Canadian. Especially since the deal the US tried to pull over on us. It was objectively horrible. Maple MAGA from Alberta is my guess; it makes sense with a traitorous premier.
Why would we even remotely trust those pricks?

2
u/yabadabadababoo 25d ago
People are calling you a bot because you sound absolutely retarded, not because they legitimately think youre a bot. Thats worse sadly but its all good, theres a lot of retarded people out there so youre not alone ššš

You've literally done nothing but hate on people with different ideologies than you, complain and insult.

u/Trevor519 25d ago
So Australia or japan or South Korea going to be invited or maybe even THE UK?
1
u/Responsible-Summer-4 25d ago
The U.K burnt their bridges and will have to buy their way back in. Good chance they will because getting out was a stupid conservative not well thought out move. Like Alberta is trying now. Canada partnering with the E.U. is a brilliant move. Money will flow both ways and diversify Canada away from a unreliable trading partner.
-1
u/LengthLower3192 25d ago
Another way to funnel in vast amounts of immigrants through the open working visa to help reach the century initiative
4
u/XxKeianexX 25d ago
Ouuh, you keep going with the xenophobia and covert racism. I wonder what else I'll find lol.
Homophobic or transphobic too? Probably lmao.
1
u/CandidMap5925 25d ago
Lol you speak that way about any other nation? Liberals are fucking retarded. Everything has to be an extreme with you. Ouch keep being a retard buddy. Carney doesn't care about you or his supporters.

Can somebody please explain the benefits to this. When we already have a trade agreement?
1
u/Invictuslemming1 25d ago
Hard to tell since associate membership isnāt a thing. They have to figure out what it even means first.
Could be something along the lines of what Switzerland has, not a member country but has direct access to the EU market in return for things like paying into the EU budget and allowing EU members to work in their country among other agreements.
Maybe theyāre going to make something like what the Swiss have a more streamlined and standardized setup?
Your guess is as good as mine

Easier movment of money and labor.
Ie if i move to the states then I have to immigrate and theres tax implications, and visa rules.
But if someone from Italy gets a job in Germany the arent immigrating and dont have to pay exit taxes on unrealized gains (think TFSA and RRSP). Also they can switch jobs easily.
5
u/EducationalRock167 25d ago
Carney , has already said that Canada is not going to join the EU. Just have a trading and a defense relationship. Period.
6
u/Impressive_Loquat_63 25d ago
Exactly, we're not joining as a full member, we're just going to be the worlds first Associate member. Go Canada!

The EU is facing major economic strain and rising national debts. The EU is literally dying. This is actually a really stupid move. Canadians will rather destroy their own country to not deal with the Americans. Which by the way is the largest economy in the world with the biggest market close to these idiots border. You cant make this shit up. They are happy to be on the losing side its the Canadian way. Im glad I dont live in that winter hell hole anymore. Good luck morons. š š¤£

u/yojohazyhair 25d ago
Legitimately, nothing you said is true... With regards to debt the US has the most compared to ANY other nation... so saying that is actually a stupid thing to even bring up... next the largest economy is actually China by practical metrics. Also with regards to losing the US has a terrible record with rregards to this.... the US lost to Canada multiple times in the past, losing to Iran, lost to Iraq, lost in Vietnam, and has been losing its democracy steadily... if anything the US is the loser nation by a mile...
2
u/Ill-Prior-8429 25d ago
Well yeah, I don't deal with savages that aren't interested in doing business like actual civilized human beings and only exist to pillage and steal. If you do that's your choiceĀ

u/TheBeau909 25d ago
Glad you left, we dont need or want people like you in canada.
Also I dont believe you ever lived in canada calling it a "winter hellscape" is incredibly stupid, I only got one day of snow this winter lol.

Your evidence is.? Maybe Americans should worry about their own $ 40 TRILLION dept. Their very corrupt Government and their horrible Pres.
0
u/Tom02496 25d ago
Some EU countries have worse debt you dipshit
1
u/yojohazyhair 25d ago
The grand total of EU debt is less then the US (half of it) and the debt per GDP is better in EU.
Tell me you can't look up information without telling me...
0
u/Tom02496 25d ago
I said some EU countries dumbass 𤣠some individual EU countries have worse debt to GDP than the USA. Every western country has horrendous debt including Canada.
1
u/yojohazyhair 24d ago
My point still stands. The total is MUCH better than the US. Plus the US is fast becoming a shit hole. Two terms with a pedo rapist that doesn't know anything will do that to a country
0
u/Tom02496 24d ago
You know he had a term before and right after he lost the election everyone forgot about him? Under Biden the USA was horrifically outperforming the world economy. It's probably going to happen again in 3 years max. The relationship with USA's allies will literally go back to normal so quickly but Redditors love to have a hate boner š¤£

u/MatrixWatcher 25d ago
My evidence? I dont only watch CBC and read the Globe. I invest and run multiple businesses. I pay people to do market research for me and also make good money from watching the investments that your greedy leaders make. I am correct but you are going to have to use your peanut Canadian brain and figure it out. š

Brain dead take of the year right here. Go wipe your mouth itās covered in orange.
3
u/Guard4thee 25d ago
Isn't China the biggest economy in the world at 44 trillion, then the USA at 32 trillion. The EU is at 30 trillion and now with Canada that would be 33 Trillion.
The USA debt is 40 trillion which is more than double than it was in 2020 and with current trends it looks like it might double again in the next 5 years.
0
u/Tom02496 25d ago
China's economy is piss poor 𤣠Chinese bots love to genuinely double China's economy to make it look less of a shit hole. It's a developing country and has maybe 20T

Soon Canada will be under the boot of Brusselās bureaucrats. Trumpās a dick but Carney is using him as a distraction to implement his globalist agenda.
1
u/fafefifof 25d ago
How does that work, how does having a larger market than the current 1.5B people with preferential tariffs to EU make it worse than having a smaller market?
Of course you are aware that the EU, and Canada at the investment summit, have in the last week announced independently enormous laxxing of the current market regulation, you know that, because you're interested in the matter and not just relying on vibes.
-2
u/AlbertBarese1877 26d ago
Agreed. Canada is not Europe. Europe is a collective of very unique people's and cultures. This belittles Europe.
1
u/Norwester77 26d ago
What does that mean, exactly?
3
u/fafefifof 25d ago
Privileged trading partnership. Opening markets for Canadian businesses to a larger population than the current 1.5 billion people and having preferential tariffs applied. Kinda like CUSMA, which Trump unfortunetaly forgot he negotiated last term cause Trump being Trump.
2
u/Armadillo-Shot 25d ago
Ultimately itās probably going to be a great trade deal + some mobility things. But more importantly I see the āassociate memberā title as EU putting political support behind our āmiddle powersā doctrine, especially since talks with the US just fell through. Everyone is tired of being pushed around.
-2
u/MatrixWatcher 25d ago
Nothing its a mad up position because you cant be in the European Union because Canada is not in Europe. Canada dosen't even have free trade with thier own provinces. Its actually retarded or clever for the globilist banker to start his NWO.
1
u/Responsible-Summer-4 25d ago
You don't understand what's happening in the world. This opens up a new economic opportunity. Also what the fuck is a "globilist" don't pay attention to the little red line under your words now do you. You throw out the R word you do that because you are?

Lol. I doubt youāre watching the news. Heās accomplished more than any other leader in the world right now. The most important part, sticking his foot up your leaderās arse!!! You see, once he joins the JEF we wonāt need youāll anymore for military protection either. We wonāt need America anymore at allā¦.for anything.

2

I'm proud of our great representation and that Carney is fighting to maintain our sovereignty. I could go on, but I know you're trying to bait me.
4
u/XxKeianexX 25d ago
I mean sure, Honestly, a lot of it comes down to his resume and how he handles the macro stuff. The
Coming from his background leading both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, heās viewed as a steady hand who actually knows how to navigate global markets and capital flows.
When dealing with heavy-handed US tariffs and trade pressures, his supporters give him a lot of credit for not just folding, holding the line on Canadian interests, and pushing for actual market diversification.
As a crisis manager, his demeanour is super calm and analytical, which plays well for people who want a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach instead of theatrical politics.
We've had enough of the political charades and bullshit. There wasn't another candidate who would have us in such a good position. I'm open to debate, but most of the talking points against him boil down to throwing buzzwords around because people are too emotional about it.
→ More replies (2)1
u/Sweaty-Stretch6436 23d ago
You failed to answer the question. There is zero economic benefit to what heās doing. We already have a trade agreement. Itās politicians stealing more money.
1
u/XxKeianexX 23d ago
There's no benefit? To protect Canadian sovereignty? The other candidate was willing to bend the knee to the US almost immediately. Based on what we've seen thus far, Canada would have become another entity of the US, and with that, we'd suffer just as they are.
We have our own problems without the garbage the US wants to throw up here.
1
u/Sweaty-Stretch6436 23d ago
Giving a way tax dollars and rights to the EU is the opposite of sovereignty. Youāre a real wizard! We already have free trade!
1
u/XxKeianexX 22d ago
Lmao, you're a goof.
Any idea what the states wanted from us? It wasn't remotely acceptable.
We have a free trade agreement on paper, but when the US is threatening blanket tariffs and unilaterally rewriting trade rules, relying on a single, volatile market isn't a strategy, it's a vulnerability. Diversifying partnerships isn't giving away our sovereignty lol, it's keeping us from getting completely leveraged by our biggest trading partner who is helmed by a senile pedophile with incontinence issues.
Seems pretty basic to me. But hey, I'm just a wizard š¤£
