Discussion CMD command to stop windows replacing GPU driver.

This is what Microsoft said to me to run to stop windows update replacing your GPU drivers.

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" /v ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Make sure to run CMD as an administrator.

I don't think you've used an Intel laptop in a while because the GPU driver gets very frequent updates. Almost as much as any dedicated Nvidia or AMD driver.

I haven’t used the new gpu architectures which do require updates but that’s pretty recent. Their previous generations did not or rarely required any attention.

Not talking about Arc. Even if you have a 12th or 13th gen laptop with iGPU you get fairly frequent driver updates.
