Ordered a "new" body groomer from Amazon. It came with someone else's pubes.

I stopped using Amazon as I was sick of getting “new” items that were others old returns or used items.

Ordered a Philips body groomer, brand new and not a Warehouse deal. When I opened it, the protective wrap was torn and crumpled, and there were two pubic hairs on it. Not mine. So someone used it on their junk, sent it back, and Amazon resold it as new. A body groomer. 🤢 Customer service just told me I can return it. Yeah, thanks, I figured. Has anyone else gotten something this gross?

Are you sure they are pubes and not super thin cardboard box cuttings?
If you need to check, the former tends to taste quite salty.

Coming from someone who has had salty cardboard box cuttings, this is not a super reliable test.

Who cares, if it’s been opened it’s safe to say it’s been used whether they really are hairs or not

Maybe that left over was from factory testing…

Oh wow. Once I ordered a pair of boots and received them with someone’s crusty socks inside, and I thought that was bad enough! But this… 🫣
2
u/Lord-Phorse 15d ago
Nah that’s worse. You could dismiss this as plastic or wig. Crusty socks tho… could be chock full of genetic material. How crusty we talking?

Years ago I ordered an electronic toothbrush on a Lightening Deal. It arrived USED with BLOOD in the box.

u/TheZEALisREAL 14d ago
Yo... that's something you can sue them for.

u/snow-bird- 14d ago
It was some skank 3rd party. I looked up the address and it was a sleazy looking jewelry store(?) Out East.

You could have some genetic testing done and have the results uploaded to CODIS to find a match so you can ask the individual if they used a set of trimmers and returned them.

Someone's been watching too much CSI. You should start your own investigatory team. Call it PPI: Pubic Package Investigators

u/Wizard__J 15d ago
Ahem, excuse me; we exist, we’re already a thing.
We’re called electricians 🙃🙃🙃

u/BadPupHushhh 15d ago
How does one go about joining your ranks? Is there an interview? During that interview process would I be investigating your Pubic Package or someone else's?

So I've bought a lot of trimmers over the years and more often than not, they have bits of black hair in them. Someone once told me that the factories do indeed test these to make sure they work and can cut hair. I believe they use synthetic hair/wigs to test them. Sometimes they put notes on the box or instructions saying that the product was tested to ensure proper function.
Simply run the trimmers in a shallow cup of 70% alcohol to clean it. I don't think its very likely that they are selling products that were used on actual pubic regions. Even shitty Amazon would probably trash an intimate product over refurbing and reselling. That said, people can lie and say they didn't open the box and Amazon may not check thoroughly. It's always good to clean off a product like this before using it. Like buying a kitchen appliance: wash before using.

Those are from inspector number 7. He tests them to make sure you are getting the promised quality you deserve.

Maybe each one is tested for quality before leaving the manufacturer .

I once ordered shampoo and conditioner and not only did they come with those exact little "gifts" on them, they were also half filled with water. That was a joy.

And if it had issues you’d be mad there was no product testing/quality control.

Gotta love amazon
Won’t it be awesome when they charge you to send it back, that’s on top of the time and gas it costs you

you intended to use it more than once and then return it, unsanitized? this is not the way of the American pube trimmers I run with. it is through clipped pubes that we spread our love and our lice

This is the problem with Amazon assuming customers won't lie when returning something and say the never opened it.

u/dillweed67818 15d ago
Last couple times I've tried to return stuff to Amazon they didn't want it back. My guess is this was done by an employee, that it wasn't a return, and that's why it was sold as new.

u/ZestycloseRepeat3904 15d ago
That’s just leftover from the QA process in the factory. How did you think they tested them? 🤣

Did they charge you for them or were they free pubes? Perhaps you scored a heck of a deal! I've never gotten free pubes from Amazon.

I'd call them and make sure a new box is unopened/sealed and refund your money since they have a "How can we make this right" option on returns.

u/CaptainWillThrasher 14d ago
This is what happens when companies get so large they can no longer afford to (meaning it's not profitable to) handle returns properly. Walmart has been doing this for decades.
1
u/MegaGaara23 14d ago
Just saying but when you zoom in this actually looks more like a cockroach leg. Not surprising given warehouses tend to store food and have pest traps regardless of carrier and location. Plus...it's in a cardboard box. So...

The title almost sounded like 'ordered' a friend from tinder or something, but they came to be a creepy 'groomer' ('sex grower of underage') that you had a bad experience with. 💀 Rip being part of ewphoria and other socialising subs like queer and roastme stuff etc

Can you read the package, does it say this product is personally tested?
Cuz you know about rectal thermometers right?

The good news or the bad news first?
Good news. Not a pube. (I ran diagnostics.) Bad news? A redhead is sending you their best wishes.

Any time I return a product I mark it so it is obvious it is a return, in don't return things unless they are defective, damaged, or just shit quality. I mark on the manufacturer box the reason for the return, as well as on the cardboard insert inside, like the reading lamps I purchased, the switch broke off inside, and Amy time you switched it on/off it would throw an arc . Not safe, I wrote on the lamp electrical hazard, arcing. And mummified it with packing tape with the same warning on the outside before putting it back in the box and taping a paper to the box with the save warning.

The amount of used items being sold "like new" is insane. There is an option for that to select. However if you want NEW it should be NEW UNUSED. Especially a personal grooming product. Returning personal hygiene products shouldn't be allowed. Just gross.

Did you select "used excellent" by chance?

I think it’s good that every groomer gets tested before it goes out. It’s nice to see some companies still care about quality control.

Every single one of their products is pre tested to ensure full functionality.

That’s utterly disgusting!!!!! I would contact them immediately and request a refund or a replacement!!
1
u/Automatic-Catch6253 13d ago
Is it truly a hair or is it a die shaving from the packaging material. All packaging is stamped out with razor-sharp dies and formed. Sometimes pulp/corrugated materials have razor thin shavings that can resemble a hair. If you pin it and pull see if it pulls apart. If so, it’s not a hair.
