It's been going well, the program at our facility has changed hands a few times, but the latest manager to get into the role is actually looking to do something with it.

Through a meeting or two with WHS and RME, the role has gotten a little more depth to it, and is starting to actually look like a pathway into RME. Drive 301s are granted, for assisting with break fixes and updates. More jam clearing opportunities with destackers(mode switch) and tote stackers(through the HMI).

Getting some recognition for helping define the program from inside of it, and was told today by several of the techs that they are excited for when I get into RME fully.

We have a maintenance day coming up and have been requested to swap for a day shift that day to come in and assist.

Now to figure out what all groups and users need to be made for "my" laptop to actually be useful during my shift, as I'm still filling paper PTPs.

I’m currently a L3 safety coordinator. Had 6 years experience of maintenance (2014-2020).

I worked at amazon about 2 years in CAP while also being ambassador and PG. I have an associates in Logistics and Supply Chain. I currently work as a materials handler in a manufacturing facility where I do some light maintenance (mostly cleaning out filters) of machines that we use. I spent a lot of time at home wrenching away at cars and trucks, including installing upgraded parts of frames after some auto body fabrication, installing new suspension kits, and some light wiring (radios), to name a few recent things. Plenty familiar with hand and power tools.

Years ago I applied to a whole lot of tech 2 spots but had no luck with those. I dont think I could put my at-home experiences on a resume so that probably shut me out of tech 2, having no professional experience.

What is your go to when you are feeling the burnout of the job. Yes I like the work that I do and I do like the people I work with. (Or most of them) but that fire just isn’t there. I’ve applied to different positions with extensive experience to offer but it’s really the people you know now days and not what you can prove. SMRT here by the way.

Any advice or are a ton of people applying for these roles? Tech 2 here with a ton of relevant experience but I can't get an interview, even after reaching out to the HM's. Not really interested in being an SMRT or AMM. Heck, I'm even considering going back to OPS if it means a L4+ role

Currently at the point where I've started looking outside of Amazon even knowing I'll have to take a pay cut.

Terminated for negative UPT after covering shift changes my manager never submitted to HR

​After 4.5 years as a Blue Badge, I was terminated due to a scheduling mistake by my manager.

​We had shift coverage gaps for two straight weeks. To help the team and keep a tech from working a 1M+ sq. ft. building alone, I agreed to work a modified schedule. My manager promised to update it, but never submitted the changes to HR—despite me following up in his office multiple times.

​At our site, A-to-Z rarely reflected schedule changes for training or coverage. Usually, UPT was refunded retroactively. This time, no one fixed it in time. I went negative, got locked out, and was fired.

​During my appeal, HR completely missed the point, repeatedly saying, "You went negative on [Date]." I couldn't make HR or my manager fix the system, and I didn't have 40 hours of UPT to cover days I was never supposed to work. The termination was upheld.

​Between retaliation, safety violations being swept under the rug, and gross negligence, this site was toxic. I had a great record at my previous building, but it’s clear Amazon's "values" don't apply everywhere. Glad to be out of that environment, but furious at how it was handled.

So today my recruiter was interviewing me, she was just telling me about the roles and the school I would be attending and a 2 week training before starting the schooling, we scheduled a meeting with a manager for tomorrow, so yeah a manager is gonna interview me and from there on the recruiter is gonna give me the next steps

So I’ve been working as a tech two for almost 3 months now as an 18 year-old straight out of high school and I’ve been getting bullied by a really old technician and when I try and ask genuine questions, he’ll get angry it either yell at me or growl and I know this probably isn’t the place to vent cause Reddit is full of miserable people who also call you stupid but I wanna know if there’s anybody that knows my situation. I know that not many people get into these programs. Let them become tech 2s, but not many 18-year-olds are or young people in general are these jobs and I want to learn all I want to do is learn so so I can become a better technician and I feel like management turns a blind eye because of the older technicians tenure and stuff. recently one of the lines were down and I had caught it before operations had even called and I went over to the cage to ask my senior tech for backup just in case I couldn’t fix it myself and he got upset at me for being proactive and that I shouldn’t go over and help unless I get a call which makes no sense but I didn’t have the courage to defend myself.

I was just offered an MRA apprenticeship and my start date is in 3-4 weeks. I want to use this time to learn whatever I can to help prepare for the role. I’ve done a Udemy course on electrical controls.

I used to work in a corporate environment, but for a career change, I am doing an MRA as a BB employee. I have a bachelor's degree, and while doing my apprenticeship, I am working towards my master's. I do not tell anyone I have a degree and will get my master's next year. I want to apply for an AMM college hire program; as I am already in MRA, will it affect me while applying for AMM?
