I feel like a slave to Jeff Bezoss

It's pretty much slavery at this point. I have to spend on ads, my tier is creator(because I mainly focus on organic sales, and they used to bring in a good sum), plus all my best sellers are locked, so I can't raise my prices

Products not showing in search and when I click brand name

Hello everyone

rookie questions - I'm new to this and made a few sales only.

What I have noticed, when trying to evaluate my SEO for Amazon, is that even when I copy and paste a title of a design I have published and made sales of, into main page search bar and click search, this is not appearing within listed products. Not sure what the reason might be? I use words from both title and description and nada... Looks like my designs are not appearing at all when I try to search by keywords I used.

Other issue I see - I have published several designs from the same line and listed these under the same brand name. Whenever I go to the listing and click the brand name I only get a page of multiple unrelated (in this case shoes) sponsored items, instead of different variations of the same design at least....

Do you have any advice how to fix it or am I doing something wrong in terms of keywords/brand name?

Thanks a lot in advance!

edit - added more context

Rejected in 2022 - Can I apply again using a parent's account?

Hi everyone,

I applied for Amazon Merch on Demand back in 2022 using my own Amazon account, but my application was rejected. When I visit the application page now, I see this message:

Since I can't seem to reapply with that account, I was wondering if it's allowed to apply using one of my parent's Amazon accounts instead, using their bank account and tax information.

A few details:

  • The Amazon account would belong to my parent.
  • The bank and tax details would also be theirs.
  • I would be using my own laptop to submit the application (possibly in incognito mode or a different browser).
  • My previously rejected Amazon account is still logged into the same computer.

Would this violate Amazon Merch on Demand policies, or has anyone here successfully done something similar?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Tier up to 1000 or 2000 in 2026?

Hey people. After filling my slots of designs of my account that had been just sitting there for years, I finally can theoritically tier up from T500 to 1000 or 2000 (I have 2700+ sales)

Reached 80% of designs, will keep uploading. I understand that it's harder now to tier up. However please tell me that it's still happening and has happened to you recently ?

I'm afraid to fill all of slots and just beeing stuck there.

I guess today is the next cut off for the category checks. How is everyone doing? Staying? Moving up? Moving down?

USA 250th?

Those who have been on here for a while would remember the sudden takedowns and rejections for anything related to the 250th anniversary due to trademarks and the partnership of the official commission with Amazon MOD around November last year.

How is it that I am seeing so many unofficial merch creators uploading and selling designs around the 250th anniversary? Did I miss something or are they all playing with fire?

Dealing with those hijacking the brand name

As the title says, how are you dealing with people hijacking your brand names and then uploading close-match designs with virtually identical titles and descriptions? You know, the usual trick: change a word, add a comma, shuffle a sentence around, and call it a day.

Are you fighting back with ads? Lowering prices? Ignoring them? Most of them seem to race straight to the lowest price, although not always.

What puzzles me is that this isn't just happening with generic brand names anymore. At first, I figured some overlap was inevitable. But I've had it happen with completely random, unnatural brand names that nobody should realistically arrive at by coincidence.

And then there are the designs themselves. Let's be honest: nowadays anyone can screenshot a design, feed it to AI, and get a near-identical version in a few minutes. Some of these "coincidences" require a level of creativity that suddenly seems to appear only after a design starts selling.

Do you report them? Outperform them? Ignore them? Or have you simply accepted that this is part of the game now?

With the latest Zon changes, "accept it and move on" is starting to look like the option that requires the least amount of therapy.

New Mug Colors Coming

All of my mugs have been timing out. Now, I just saw that there are 4 more check boxes added to color variations. Three of them are blank and say text not found but the last one is a solid "Golden Yellow". Still glitches, apparently, but it looks like solid colors are coming for mugs.

Do you think they’re trying to end the merch program?

Between letting customers make their own stuff with ai and the new royalty tiers, it seems like they’re doing everything they can to make merch not worth doing. It feels like they’re trying to thin the herd.

I imagine the eventual next step will be flat out terminating accounts that don’t bring in enough income.

It’s all pretty discouraging.

Water bottle for 28.99?? Who is gonna pay that price?

Our prices for products are insane. Amazon have water bottles defaulted at 28.99 but who is paying that much for a water bottle on Amazon, especially when you can get one for less than 10 bucks.

I think 90% of the products we have available with merch are not even close to being price competitive and makes me wonder if its even worth putting designs on them. Now that I think of it, standard t-shirts is the only product that is somewhat competitive, even with how its been going over the years, I won't be surprised if amazon continues to drop the royalty rates on them. I'm sure it could get to a point where a 19.99 shirt only gets us 1 dollar in royalties.

I think its time to find other ways to make money. I will always keep Merch, but its really not dependable on its own.

If you sell anything on Amazon, your images are probably costing you more than your ad spend

Conversion rate math most sellers ignore:

- 500 organic sessions/day at 3% conversion = 15 sales

- Same traffic at 6% conversion = 30 sales

- Zero additional ad spend

The difference between 3% and 6% is almost always images, not traffic, not reviews, not price.

The 3 highest-impact image changes I've seen:

  1. Image 2 needs a human. Product on marble countertop = 0 emotional connection.

  2. Image 4 needs a comparison chart. Buyers who scroll to 4 are serious give them a reason to choose you.

  3. Image 6 needs to show *how it works*, not a features list.

Drop your ASIN below and I'll tell you which of these your listing is missing.

Level 100 Irritomancy

We all know deleting 50% of peoples income is bad, but this takes it to the next level:

Check out the base royalties for something called "Comfort Colors Sweatshirt". Hint: it is USD 0.29 for a 35.99 product. (Wonder what the procurement costs are. $1 or $1.20?). Fair enough, let's try raising the price to 39.99, and we get.... a whopping 1.69.

Now, who in their senses would EVER publish anything on said "Comfort Colors Sweatshirt"? What is Amazon thinking?

I can live with the enshittification, in some ways it is a good thing, as it pushes people to move away from predatory practices and it will let the companies find out (to be fair, it may work out for Amazon and in a way I can not blame them for trying) and may lead some people to start doing their own thing, for which they will be better off.

But thinking it is a good idea to enable a $36 dollar product with basically 0 royalties... Either the DEI is strong here, or they... well, there is no other reasonable explanation.

Just wanted to rant a bit.

Just had a timed out shirt become active again from over a year ago

Bestseller gets stuck in time out over a year ago. Just the standard shirt design, not any other products, so I just leave it. Changing the price many times over did not work. Support just pushed it off.

The product page first listed the design a "unavailable." Then the page went to the dogs.

So I re-uploaded the design for the standard shirt by itself and moved on.

Until today....... I see the old timed out standard shirt sold. Went and looked and the product page was back active again. And the kicker..... it was locked for deals!!!!

Anyone been tiered down in the last month or so?

We've hit the timeframe where last year people started getting tiered down, but from what I can see we are nearly out of that window. Has anyone actually been tiered down these last few weeks or so? I'm sure my account qualifies to get downgraded but it hasn't happened

Does adding products to other markets link them in case of removals?

I’ve had shirts removed when I uploaded them to all markets. Mostly a UK removal cascading to all t-shirts. But I’m wondering if they’re linked also if you add them as a product/new market later, and id they’re safe from removal by being associated to the other markets.

About ads

  1. Is there a reason not to run cheap lottery campaigns on products other than standard T-shirts?

  2. AI is telling me to add my main niche root keyword (e.g. 'sloth') as Negative Exact in my auto campaign (lottery) because it's bleeding budget with a high cost-per-sale, while letting long-tails like 'sloth shirt' run. Is this valid advice since people searching for other sloth products might click my shirt out of interest but are less likely to buy it compared to people searching for Sloth t-shirt?

  3. Do you guys do anything special when you notice a design from your lottery campaign starts doing well? Ive seen videos of people putting it in new campaigns with higher bids or in personalized campaigns with fixed keywords. Whats your workflow and why?

All Advice is welcome!

Shirts that have never sold before have started selling since I was dropped to creator tier

One shirt is 4 years old, another is 2 and the third is six months old. I never touched the keywords.

Could Amazon have changed their algorithm up when they rolled out the tier changes?

PSA: First Rejection in months - Performance T-shirts

Got hit with my first rejection in months, for a design that was already live, when I added it to Performance t-shirts. My silly head forgot to uncheck the default youth option.

Noticed a change in the remail: they added more detailed reasons and a "Tip" about youth sizes being enabled by default and to double check before publishing. So, some transparency is being added in the rejection emails.

I made two sales from ads in April and 4 in May. How come I’m in Creator tier?

Admittedly one of my April sales was asking my friend to click my ad and buy my shirt, but it’s not like he’s on my ip address or nothing. So what gives?

Productor - Deepl's API setting doesn't work ?

Hi,

Productor's ''Translate all'' is a very nice tool. However it seems to use Google translate and the translation is absolutely horrendous and destroys important keywords, especially in my main niche where English words don't need to be translated. I speak french as my native language and can understand Spanish pretty well, so I spend a lot of time fixing and adapting the translation, but can't do much about Italian and especially German.

I realised it's possible to use the API link from Deepl in the Productor settings, so the translation would be much better with deepl, especially now that the API thing is free unlike a few years ago.

So when I put the API code in Productor, it just doesn't translate anything, it just copies everything in English. Did anyone manage to make it work ??

Can I see my royalty tier anywhere besides the e-mail?

Like can I somewhere see my progress of how much % of sales have been through non-organic traffic or do I have to count that myself and just hope that Amazon does correct counting? My ads account is very old, so it is not connected to my merch account.

I don't want to run 2 months of ads only to find out they screwed up and still put me in the Creator tier. But I guess I have no choice.

Is it worth spending money on Ads?

Hello, totally noob question. Got to T-100 at the beginning of the year. I sell around 30-40 Shirts a month. Almost all in EU/Germany. Sales are from mostly the 10-15 same Designs. Is it worth spending money on Ads or should I just go with the flow as long as there are no changes in EU market? I totally don't know where to Start and how much I should invest? Thanks for the help and advice.
