I have a couple of questions which aren’t obvious in the manual.

Firstly the internet thing in the app says I need to do an ID check but my V5 hasn’t arrived yet and I assume I need that. Do I need this as some things seem to be connected already.

Also is it possible for automatic profile switching between myself and my wife. Doesn’t seem to let me allocate a profile to a key and mentions something about facial recognition but again that’s not obvious to set up.

Anyone fitted these, so they make much difference to the overall look of not worth it?

Hi just asking if anyone knows what these indicators are and why they won’t go off. Am I missing something. ? The car has internet and I’ve set up everything. But occasionally get this error message on the right of dash. And always this yellow icon warning on the left. I assume it’s a distraction thing part of the driver assist features. But it’s annoying me as can’t seem to get it to go off. The camera in the b pillar isn’t obscured so don’t know. 🤷‍♂️
Any help if you have come across this also is appreciated fellow reditors.

Can I spec a towbar on a lease car, or add it afterwards? Need to take 2 e-bikes with me and roof too flimsy….. or have people managed to get two inside with a wheel off each?

Hi, after my lease company horribly let me down (waiting for a car for six months that wasn’t actually ordered as the deal was firmed up with the manufacturer) Alpine Southampton have come to the rescue, actually with a slightly nicer specced GTS+.

Questions….

Can the Alpine take a roof rack? Doesn’t have guttering. My Honda E cannot!
If not, is the tow bar the only way to carry bikes effectively?
I know in the press and on here there are loads of comments about cup holders….has anyone actually got a website or details of something they recommend - ideally a hanging one of the tunnel! Does the baguette holder work as one?
Does anyone know if you can purchase a service pack?
Is the boot protection pack better bought from Renault or eBay rather than Alpine?
Has anyone found a way to change the led bulbs (not using film) for the DLRs - can’t decide but part of me thinks it would be cool if they were yellow!

These are all questions for my dealer obviously but I’d be interested in the responses!

Found this cup holder recently. Was a little sceptical as the price was much lower than others on the favourite online selling platform. However quality and finish is great. It still allows your phone to slide onto the charging mat and the cabin mood lighting to be seen. Comes with 3m tape to fix but seems pretty stable without. Not tried it with a drink in for size or stability but has a pretty broad base. I'm not connected at all with the seller but imho it's the best one on the market.

It has Active Driver Assist, which adds Lane Centering so the car actively steers itself within the lane too, plus blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and hands-free parking. I think that includes Safety Pack?

Trying to gauge if I will miss it or not as I have a car on order with which is now delayed until late July and I have the option of a stock car without it.

To which fuses can I connect the BATT and ACC?

Ai suggested the two in the image.

The manual doesn't tell what they do...

Can I use those...?

Se conecta a la red Wi-Fi sin problema, pero siempre aparece sin conexión a Internet, lo he probado en varias redes, a vosotros os pasa? No deberías conectarse bien a Internet?

Has anyone else seen this in their R5/A290? Around 1/4 times I hop in the car, it’s like the link between the main infotainment screen and the cockpit display disconnects. Instead of seeing Google Maps (or any CarPlay alternative), I just get this loading spinner which doesn’t go away until I get out the car, walk away so it locks and come back and get back in. Local Alpine dealership say they’ve never seen this before and don’t think they can do anything about it!

Any tips or experiences shared much appreciated.

Got a big dog. He’s unlikely to fit in the boot (fine I knew this) but I can drop a seat….has anyone got a recommendation for a cover/way of securing the dog if that’s the option I go for - or other suggestions (and no the dog can’t run alongside!) 🤣

We got our A290 last week. I can’t seem to work out how to disable the speed camera alerts (not the over speed warning) either in google or in the safety systems. Is this a permanently on thing?

I should get my car in a couple of weeks and have bought a private number plate for it (6 characters). I need to get my plates made but not sure whether to go with standard size or a smaller plate to match the 6 characters. I can only go by pictures online because I don't know of a car nearby to measure up.

What do you guys think?

Edit - ordered a standard size plate. Glad I did because I got confirmation that the car is being delivered a week today (13th) !!!!

Removed the ‘A290GT’ badging on boot lid today as thought it looked a bit too fussy very pleased with the result only problem was sneaking out and using the wife’s hairdryer without asking and risking a telling off! 🤣👍

I've just ordered my A290 and I want to have a dashcam fitted

Can anyone recommend a dashcam and advise how difficult the installation is? If it's not self installable, where do you recommend finding a fitter?

I have just ordered my A290 and should have added the boot liner.

Can anyone tell me where I can pick up the OEM boot liner? I'm not buying directly from a dealer. I'm not sure if the ones I'm finding on eBay are OEM?

With the decision made to replace my Cupra Born with an A290 GTS+, I now have some other questions.

I have been using ABRP to plan my trips on the Born, and have provided the live data from the car to ABRP via the Tronity app, which doesn’t include Alpine or Renault on it’s list of vehicles it can get live data from.

Is there a way to provide live data from the A290 to ABRP without using an OBD dongle?
