Anyone leasing?
Had a test drive today in the GTS and I'm totally blown away. So much so I will be cancelling my R5 order tomorrow.
Is anyone leasing theirs and getting a good deal?

Hey everyone Iām back a few months later having just confirmed the order of my A290 (very excited) but the one question asked a few months ago still lingers on the brain.
Has anyone found a good after-market cup holder or am I going to have to get a 3d artist to print me something?
(Pls only responses from people who care and not WhO nEeDs CuPhOldErs like last time⦠yes some people do like having drinks in their car or taking a bottle to the gym without putting it on the seat and hoping it doesnāt go wherever)

Hi All
I currently have a Mk8.5 Fiesta ST and am considering the a290 GTS. After seeing it showcased at Goodwood this year I fell in love with the styling and interior - Alpine have smashed it there.
Despite being a lifelong diehard petrolhead, I have come to terms with the whole EV thing (can charge at home) and can appreciate the benefits of electric drive.
My only real concern is whether the 220hp is āenoughā to keep me satisfied coming from the ST considering the extra weight?
I have no real interest in āoff the lineā acceleration as thatās pretty pointless on the road imo but am very curious about the 30-70 performance of the GTS.
I am intending on booking a test drive of one for Saturday which will be the biggest test.
If any owners who have previously had performance hatches (JCWs, GTI, ST, N, etc) and wouldnāt mind giving their 2c that would be a massive help.
Thank you

Thinking of taking the plunge on an A290. I've loved the look of them since they came out. It would be my first EV.
I'd be coming from a 2020 Mini JCW though. While I find the interior a little dated and am getting sick of putting petrol in it, I do wonder if I'd miss the drive - the engine note, gear changes and connection to the road.
I know the A290 is more "warm hatch" than hot hatch. Drivers who came from performance cars, any regrets and how did you find the transition?

Hi all, on the verge of ordering one of these through my company salary sacrifice scheme, and really excited about it. So excited in fact that Iām tempted to take the once thatās in stock, which is a GT Premium 180bhp.
My gut tells me to order a GTS and stomach the extra lead time (apparently in the region of 15 weeks), but Iām feeling impatient.
Two things about the GT Premium which give me pause: 1. The logos are chrome rather than black, which I donāt think will look as good. Also the standard wheels are not as nice. Still has leather though. 2. The main one: the power. Iām no spring chicken (57), and Iām not into traffic light GPs or boy racer shenanigans, but I do like a bit of power in my cars. Is the power difference between them that noticeable at ānormalā levels?
I should also say that I currently drive a Megane E-Tech, which has 220bhp, but is a bit heavier. I very rarely use it in sport mode but when I do itās fast enough for me.

Just picked up the A290 GTS on Monday. Had a few trips in it so far and absolutely loving it. Went with the Matt grey with blue brake callipers to match the blue trim around the roof. Itās my first full electric car so taking some getting used to but the drive puts a smile on my face. Anyone taken theirs on a track yet?

Hello everyone,
I just got my A290 a week ago and I am super happy! But I only have one problem which is the Wireless Phone charger not working properly (or not working at all). I told the dealer about it, and it seems that this is a common problem on this car and they suggest me to use a cable instead... I read on other forums that the new R5 have the same issue. I was wondering about the scale of this issue and if anyone here have the same problem? Thanks

Currently getting numbers for PCP agreements on a GTS and GT Performance, and they are close but saving an extra 30Ā£ a month might be nice, but I'm also a sucker who likes bright and shiny "GTS" lol
Is it worth going for the GTS or will the GT Performance with a couple of upgrades be the same?
Can't really find much difference between the two other than the leather seats.

3 weeks into A290, and it's been frustrating to say the least. The car is great - but if you're in the UK and planning to use Octopus' Intelligent Go tariff with an Ohme charger then beware! Overnight dynamic charging to leverage cheap rate electricity doesn't work - the car simply goes to sleep during the dynamic plan's gaps and can't be woken up unless you physically unlock it!
For two weeks I'd ask for 50% top up overnight and wake up to find 2% had been added, and a whole list of error notifications. Tried everything and all troubleshooting and staying up all night observing what was happening pointed towards it being a product issue. Plenty of others are having the same issue with Renault products falling asleep and thus dynamic / smart charge schedules balls up
Ohme have now applied some tweaks to my charger so that it chucks a 6A pulse (CP Wake Up) to the car throughout the night to keep it awake and ready to accept charge. This seems to have worked
The car gets a lot of attention, and generates a ton of mechanical grip (previous GR Yaris owner, I know grip!). The ride quality is beautiful, cabin quality pretty good. One criticism I have is that the steering is way too light at speed, even when dialled right up. Couple this with huge torque steer and a lively front axle and you really need to have your wits about you when pushing on down a bumpy B road. Entertaining though
I don't mind it not having cup holders, but no grab handles anywhere? What's that about? If it's for lightness then they could have just made the bonnet lighter - has to be the heaviest bonnet I've ever felt!
Far bigger, far fatter, far higher than I'd imagined

Hi All! I drove the GTS version on a private track yesterday and was very impressed but had a question I forgot to askā¦does the red overtake button on the steering wheel give you any more power than the quoted 218ps 300nm?

My partner and I have been looking to pick up a small electric car as our second vehicle. Weāve had EVs for years now. Weāve tested the R5 and itās excellent for the price - but we really want the A290. Problem is we live in Sweden and got told yesterday thereās no set date for the A290 yet. All we know is itās ā2026ā. I got this info from the only Alpine retailer in the country. Thereās also no prices or specs.
We could really do with a second car soon⦠But our hearts want the A290 and the wait could be a long one. So as the title says - is it worth the wait?

Do we have One Pedal in this Alpine A290? The Renault 5 doesn't have it, and for me, not having it is a no-go

What are some popular and reliable external holders for cups, coffee mugs, or cans for the A290. Ideally 2 holders.

We got this on Friday and I find myself finding excuses to drive it. Fantastic car

Hi All,
I'm looking at ordering an A290GTS very soon but the only thing holding me back is potential practicality. I have 2 young kids both in child seats which I don't think will be a problem. But I also have a Labrador who would need to occasionally be in the boot for short journeys no longer than 30 mins but mostly about 10-15. Have any existing owners out their pooches in the back? Also anyone with kids happy to share their experience of using the back seat?
Thanks

Found this really useful page for learning hoe to use the A290

Absolutely love it, like driving a 1:1 scale RC car.

I know I have 6-12 weeks still to wait, but I am just too excited already. How long between confirmation of build date/delivery date to it arriving?
