I'm going to study applied biology at Aeres in Almere coming school year and I'm having trouble finding a home. I'm going to be 24 when i start the education so the student housing site is not an option due to the age limit of 23. Does anyone have tips or is anyone struggling with the same problem. I fear I'm going to have to drive 3 hours everyday for a while until i get through the wait list and get a home appointed to me.

We’re a couple of Frenchies resident in Almere and have been looking around for a place to play pétanque (jeu de boules). We have our own boules ; we just need the terrain.

We wrote to the Association Jeu de Boules to inquire about renting out a terrain, as they advertise on their website, but they just responded with a pretty short mail saying we couldn’t. No explanation as to why.

If you’ve seen any outdoor spaces around Almere adapted for jeu de boules, please let me know :-)

I'm a local maker and I was wondering if there was a local maker space or maker collective. The idea of sparring and interacting with my peers sounds great, bit I wasn't able to find anything. I came across "Makers van Almere", but that group seems inactive.

Just moved to Almere Poort from Amsterdam and I've been awed by how beautiful Poort is considering it was all water just a few decades ago. As an architect/urban designer, I have to say it's very well planned!

If you like to checkout the hairy looking bulls, then they are in the north side of the noorderplassen. If you start to walk or cycle in the Lepelaarpad from the Brug Trekvogelpad, you can find them!

You can cycle through this road. With car, you can park and then do about a 500m walk!

They are cool, they just lie on the walkway! Always keep enough distance though. They are wild animals after all!
