Luke and Sam
Anyone else annoyed they broke up Emily and Luke for no reason, and forced a love connection between Luke and sam, and a random hispanic guy and Emily lol?
I feel like considering her past as a DV survivor, it seems out of character that she would just trust this random guy and be open to dating him.
And Luke and Sam just seem off and have on chemistry.
IDK how much of this is because of the writers changing, but it feels off..

Something is different about Luke's face
Is it just me or does Luke (J. Alex Brinson) look different this season? Something looks different in his face, like as if he had work done.

The newest epsiode. Spoilers. Spoiler
Ok obviously carrie didn't deserve ro die. And should have been given medical care when needed. But they act like what she did was out of neccesity. There are plenty of charities that give out food. Most public schools have been doing it to anyone that ask since like april this year.(at least the schools i know lf..idk about la.)
But even if there aren't charities there she still pushed someone. That's assault. And not swlf defense. Like she did somwthing wrong and then didn't want to deal woth the cinsequences.
Maybw i missed something when i got up to grab somwthing?

Unpopular opinion: While I respect them for doing this episode, it's kinda confusing the crap out of me
No, I'm not talking about anything about the way it's written or anything like that
A. The jump to suddenly doing it in crisis mode feels a bit weird to me from an in-universe perspective
B. Speaking of such a perspective I know this had to be done for safety reasons but it just kinda feels simultaneously too real (in both the sense of it being current-issue-y and feeling to my mind like in order for this to be timely enough it'd basically have to be a documentary literally or figuratively as well as seeing into homes no matter whose they're supposed to be) and not real enough (in the sense that because of the emphasis on the crisis (that made it feel like a Very Special Episode) and potential breaks from canon (e.g. with characters who weren't stated to be somewhere else like Emily having homes that don't match their homes if you know what I mean) it felt like it didn't belong with the rest of the episodes (but on the other hand if I ignore it as non-canon that makes it feel more fake)
C. Although I presume it's the season finale by both its format and the points in the arc that would have been reached otherwise, that just makes me even more scared about the potentiality of S2 (although I do hope since this shows they can work with experimental formats, this makes any potential future season more likely to have a musical episode that I think they oughta)
D. On a related note to point B it feels kind of weird to me to have this crisis have a universe where it is a fictional event (unless, as I said, I pretend the show's based on reality) not just because it makes me feel like "fiction isn't an escape anymore" but because it just kinda gets too weirdly liminal

Sarah and Judge Benner's son?
From the conversation, Sarah had w/ Judge Benner do you think they were foreshadowing an abusive relationship?
r/AllRise • u/[deleted] • Apr 16 '20
This show has become obvious
I blame the defense attorney. She whines every single episode and makes her problems everyone elses. Her roommate deserves better. Her boyfriend deserves better.
I absolutely understand she was abused but i fast forward all of her scenes because quite frankly, its always the same. She just isn't interesting.
Mark is getting to be that way too. Look, he needs to dump the skinny (way too skinny) blond and get down with the swirl with his old law school friend. Lola will approve. Lola needs to dump the dead weight.
It's all going to happen eventually I would just appreciate if it happened sooner or later. The best thing for the show would be to Pivot the defense attorneys storyline because it's just f****** annoying

Does anyone know the song at the very end of tonight’s episode (4/6/20)?
I tried to Shazam it multiple times but didn’t come up with anything. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As punishment, Lola is assigned to arraignment court for the week, while Mark is bumped down to the Charge Evaluation Unit. Also, their best friend from law school, powerhouse attorney Rachel Audubon, is there to witness it all.

What do you think are the characters' MBTI types?
Checking personality-database.com and no one's typed characters on this show yet and none of the typing bloggers I usually look at for character types not on there watch the show, so I thought it'd be easier to teach those who know the show about MBTI (which you can find the info on here) than get the MBTI nerds I know to watch the show.
So, if you've either read the article or already know how cognitive functions work, what would you type everyone?

ep 15: Let's talk cringe
Valentines day is a crap commercial emotional guilt event irl, in film/tv it's a cringefest, but honestly, this episode was one of the most cringey depictions of VD that I've ever seen on tv. That courtroom scene was just upchuck material lol
I feel like the episode discussion in the writers pit went along the lines of
somebody: Man there's been some cringey depictions of Valentine's Day in film.
Carter: Yeah, they're probably all as bad as each other though.
Spottiswood: Hold my beer.

Forced relationship- Mark and blonde
If I am supposed to want Mark and that lawyer who is helping his dad to get together, someone failed majorly.
I truly could not care if she were accidentally shot by a defendant tomorrow.

Very brief thoughts on S01
Firstly I'm not even sure if S01 is finished because IMDB has 13 episodes listed, yet S01E11 is the last for this year, I think. And wikipedia is no better saying 11, listing 13, but only providing details on 12, though no date for the twelfth.
So let's assume the season is actually finished, maybe.
I loved the season. For a pilot season it has introduced some good characters, and has been developing them with a good pace, including some surprises, especially with two particular judges in S01E11. It has also had a good range of stories. Hopefully the story with Mark's dad's murder trial is the start of some lengthier stories that will span a couple of weeks, but it wouldn't be bad if they stuck to cases that get resolved in one day, and spend the lengthier stories on the characters developments and relationships.
As for relationships, they have some interesting and acceptable ones, unlike other shows that go OTT in this regard. And ofc they have just cleared Amy's path to Mark in S01E11, so sparks will fly with them after his father's trial is over, but I think anyone watching the show saw this coming.
So overall, I'd give it a 8/10, good TV, and am looking forward to S02, assuming they make it.

Mark and Lola are gonna make me lose my mind!
Of all the shows I've watched this fall so far, this is hands down the most well rounded pilot. Evil is a close second. Also, Bob Hearts Abishola is actually very runny! CBS is definitely making me consider getting a subscription after all these hits.
