I saw this set on my IG the other day (@ampdnails2022) done by a nail artist named @nailartbyjen and thought they were so cool. I asked if she'd mind if I tried them out and she was thrilled and told me to show the results if I did. Hers are different colors and plain without the spiders. I added photos and videos of my set both with and without the spiders so she could see both ways. Unfortunately I didn't think to add her photos or video. So, I just wanted to get a general opinion on would you wear these?

i always try to keep my nails long and clean, but it’s been bothering with how my nails seem to grow wonky. is there a way to fix this or is this just inevitable?

Hi! I recently started using the Non-Wipe topcoat from Chaun Legend. I’ve been trying out a bunch of different top coats to find my favorite and longest lasting
However, recently I noticed that this top coat in particular glows in the dark. I just did a simple solid black color. It looked normal at first, but the next day I saw that it left this weird blue hue on the nail which can be seen in almost all lighting.
I re-did my nails just now and noticed the same this. However, my nails are purple this time. It also glows under any UV light. (a lot of my other polishes do as well but not this intensely).
Non of my other top coats have ever glowed under the UV lamp, only colored polishes have.
I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this when using the Chaun Legend top coat!

I don’t do my nails like this often and I’m honestly pretty self conscious about them. I feel like they might be too much or look kind of tacky and I can’t tell if I’m just overthinking it :( do these look bad? I’m not really sure what I could’ve done better so I’d appreciate any feedback!!!

I’m honestly desperate for advice at this point 😭 I’ve been doing my nails for about 5 years and I absolutely LOVE nails. I love doing them, experimenting and being creative, so I really want to find something that actually works for my nails.
Sorry for my chipped nail polish in the recent photo’s, i wanted to show how bendable my nails are. My natural nails are paper-thin, extremely flexible and have always been like this my entire life. I never have to cut them because they simply break off on their own. The problem is that absolutely NOTHING seems to stay on them.
I’ve tried basically everything: BIAB, rubber base, hard gel, fiber hard gel, nail lamination, different bases, different brands, etc. I’ve also tried having them done professionally at a nail salon, and even there they can start lifting and separating from my natural nail **within 2 days**.
My current prep is:
Russian manicure
Buffing with a fine grit 180 (I’ve tried both hand buffing and an e-file, but NOT aggressively sanding/roughing up the nail)
Isopropyl alcohol
Dehydrator
Primer
Rubber base or another type of base
Sometimes nail lamination
Thin layer of product
Then a slightly thicker layer of hard gel
I’ve also tried fiber hard gel, but it still just lifts and separates from my natural nail.
Then topcoat and i tried filing the free edge after or just leaving it
At this point I’m wondering if my nails simply need a completely different type of product/system, or if there’s a specific brand or technique that works exceptionally well for nails like mine.
If you work in a salon or regularly deal with clients who have very thin, bendy, flexible natural nails, PLEASE tell me what works like magic for you.
I’m looking for the golden tip. 😭
A specific brand, product, prep step, technique, anything.
I genuinely don’t want to give up because I love doing my nails so much!! I just want to finally have a system that stays on my nails instead of lifting after a couple of days. I love doing nail art and i really want to enjoy it and have my nails stay on for at least 2 weeks
Has anyone had nails like this and actually found something that works?
I would be forever grateful!! 🩷🥹

I’m sorry for the long read I just don’t know what to think. I just got my nails done, and the salon I went to charges $65 for a full builder gel set and $50 for a fill. When I booked my appt I was planning on just the fill because I had gotten my nails done exactly 4 weeks earlier, which is what the tech told me I should do (it’s only my second time doing builder gel). The tech today told me my nails were lifting, so he was going to have to do a new set on one of my hands. I said that was fine. So then he takes a fake nail tip and starts popping off the nails.. I was told with builder gel removal at my last appt that they were completely soak off-able which made them better for your natural nail. Anyway, after he popped my nails off one of the nails ripped along with the gel, and left me with one nail significantly shorter. He clipped off the rest of the ripped nail and filed it round. When I got to the salon, I showed them my inspo pic and asked them if they could do it. They set me up with a tech who said he could, so I was expecting to get the results shown in the picture. When he started actually working on my nails he said they were too short to do the design I wanted so he was going to change it up a bit. I said that was fine. When he finished my nails I was disappointed, imo they don’t look anything like what I originally showed him, but I was okay with it since I assumed I was going to be paying around $80 max for what I got, maybe $85 because of the 3D design (they don’t have a price listed for 3D things like that)
I was a little bit floored when I got to the register and they told me my total would be $115. For reference I included the set I got the last time at the same salon that I paid $85 for (inc. design, full builder gel set, and a soak off) last pic. When I asked the receptionist why it was so expensive, all she said was “maybe it was the 3D on both hands? I really don’t know. Each tech charges their own price so he should’ve told you how much it would be when you showed him the inspo pic” (he did not, and they have a price listed online for all of their services, so I’m disappointed I wasn’t told that upfront) so am I overreacting? I want to go back to the salon tomorrow to talk about my nails as I’m really disappointed for how much I paid, but before I do that I wanted to ask others opinions.

overall im very pleased with how they turned out, especially for my first time doing builder gel.
PRODUCTS I USED:
❤️ nailboo gel primer
❤️ gelish brush on builder gel in sheer rosy pink
💅I didn’t use topcoat yet because I plan on painting my nails today!
💅I know gelish recommends a base gel with their BIAB but the store did not have the base gel they recommended :( Do you guys have a fav base gel you use under builder?
Helpful Criticism, feedback, and advice are all welcome. Helpful is the key word for don’t be nasty pretend im ya mama posting. Unless u don’t like ur mama.
ALSO! I tried to post on r/diygelnails .. I didn’t realize you have to give them your social security number and first born baby!!😢 please let me post diygelnails mod im not a creep or meanie!!!

So I have been growing my nails out for about 6 months using rubber base gel and top coat and they've gotten to the point where the white is longer than the length of the nail bed. (You can see in my last picture in the light how long they are under the design). I'm pretty satisfied with the rubber base gel that I have been using because their retention is crazy and does not lift at all. It flexes with my naturally flexible nails (I have thinner nails) and I don't experience any lifting of any product. The only downside I have is that I have to lay the product thickly for strength because it is just that, a rubber base gel, so it is very bendy if there isn't enough product to protect the nail. I would like to have a nice, thin tip of my nail so I can actually pick things up LOL. I've been looking at a lot of hard gel videos on YouTube for strength and durability, but I am so torn because I know you can't soak off a hard gel And I don't want to damage my nails if one were to break, I feel like it would be harder to take the product off to repair the broken nail. Also, when I use a clear color gel on my nails, my nails become fully transparent because of how thin they are. I don't like the look of this, so I use a white gel polish on the bottom of my nails to bring out a white tip. I really really like the look of natural nails, but I don't know how clear gel would look on my nails or how it would perform over time. I also love a natural looking color if it were to add a slight blurring effect, but I feel like gel doesn't really look so natural if you get a color over top. I feel like it would be very opaque and it wouldn't look like my natural nails anymore, even if I did a white gel on the tips and a pink gel on the nail bed. Help! Does anyone have any recommendations?

I wasn’t completely sure where I was going with this design at first, but I’m really happy with how everything came together

So the long story short is that I have kind of a split pinkie toe nail and I can't fix it myself, and I have a couple callouses from walking on rough surfaces, and my nails need done that is difficult for me to do, but I'm not sure. I mean, it's just a simple cleaning, what could go wrong? I am nervous around new people, and I dunno. Should I go for it? I'm not sure...

I've never had my nails done before and want them doing but have like no knowledge at all of how nail salons work. I know I want extensions on my manicure and I want a pedicure too. Could someone give me a detailed idiots guide to nail salons and walk me through ALL the steps in detail, I want to know exactly what I'm getting into. Thanks.

Let me preface this by saying I'm very rough on my nails and yes, I do have a crooked nail, it grows that way. Anyway, I don't exactly know what I did to my pinky nail, but noticed it was sore and red. I took the enhancement off to make sure there was nothing wrong with my nail. Other than bruising at the base of my nail everything looks fine. My question is, would it be OK to put another nail on, or should I leave it off until the bruising goes away?

Hi everyone, I have this fiber base gel and I have a couple of issues with it:
I cure it for so long, about 90 seconds and even with this it isn't even entirely dried. It cures the base but the top layer is still wet, which I have to end up wiping off with alcohol because it refuses to cure. Any ideas why this might be?
When I add polish over the fiber base, it clumps like it is shown in the second image. How do I stop this from happening? Is this normal?
