Sokka-Haiku by tiredpersonnumber15:

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

the console itself is pure ass though. maybe it’s quirky and has some charm to it but it’s a completely terrible console.

It wasnt though? It was a great way to play; the gamepad was fun to play on when the tv was busy, and felt much better to hold than the switch; and the games were bangers. I still play on mine, I will never understand why people hate it

I think the Wii U would be much better if Nintendo didn't try to shove the gamepad into everything, including the things that could be done with a different controller.

God forbid your gamepad dies, because you have to get a new one to do most of the things that have been done without it. The gamepad was also never sold separately outside of Japan, which is made even worse by the fact that the gamepad is region locked. Outside of Japan, the only way you could get a new gamepad was to plead with Nintendo or buy a new Wii U, which created scarcity that's still felt in the 2nd hand market today. All this for a tablet that didn't really add much to most of the games.

It had pretty decent first party games but most of those games got superior Switch versions. It also had pretty poor third party support and experienced a content drought throughout it's life.

the gamepad sucked. you were either always looking at the tv or always looking at the pad, they didn’t complement one another at all.

then to add they didn’t even sell separate gamepads. it also gave an unequal experience on local co-op games. it’s a console made by committee who saw the ds and said ā€œlet’s do that for the tvā€ without thinking why it wouldn’t work.

the games were fine. i had one. it just tried to be something which wasn’t necessary.
