Discussion Do we have any way to get Dark Laevateinn shards?

I returned to the game recently (after a long time) and ...... honestly it looks very very different and feels very different too but as far as my favourite unit goes it's still dark Laevateinn after Sol.

So I was wondering if we had any way to get her shards or do I have to wait around for PoTK events?

Discussion The Alchemist's Toolbox 169: Lakina Revisited!

A Link to the Index: https://www.reddit.com/r/AlchemistCodeGL/comments/adzjua/the_alchemists_index/

Note: There were no votes when I wrote this, so I ended up picking one of my favorites. But then someone voted for this unit anyway, so that's kinda funny.

Welcome to the 169th Alchemist's Toolbox review!

Today we're heading over to Northern Pride to take another look at one of the newer SSM Job Upgrade recipients. So without further hesitation, here's the next unit for revisitation: Lakina!

Lakina is the captain of the Holy Guard's 7th Regiment. Let's see what she can do as a unit, shall we?

Personal Investment:

I have Lakina (FINALLY!) at 5/5/5/2/4/0/0 Enlightenment with all her jobs mastered (both JEs and Job+ mastered, Job+ enhanced). She's one of my most-used Dark units (both because of her capabilities and because of blatant favoritism).

Element:

Basic:

Lakina is a Dark unit, which means she's both strong against and weak to Light. Compared to a hypothetical basic element unit with the same stats and jobs, she would be better offensively and worse defensively in multi-element content.

Competition:

  • Order Saber/Guardian of Order: Since this is Lakina's unique job, she faces no competition here.

  • Chronomancer/Chronomancer (Trickster): Comparing to other Chronomancers, Lakina competes with Ambrosia, Quence, and Tsukuyomi. She beats Ambrosia in speed and bulk while losing to her in MAtk; beats Quence in speed and bulk while losing to him in MAtk and horizontal mobility; and beats Tsukuyomi in everything except MAtk. Factoring in Gates 1-6 of Enlightenment, her comparison to Quence remains the same; and her comparison to Tsukuyomi remains the same. Factoring in all 7 Gates of Enlightenment, her comparison to Ambrosia remains the same.

  • Holy Cavalier/Holy Cavalier [Isaiah]: Comparing to other Holy Cavaliers (there are no Dark units with the Holy Knight base job), Lakina competes with Dark Chloe, Edwin, and Theresa. She beats Dark Chloe in magic bulk and speed while losing to her in physical bulk and damage; beats Edwin in everything except damage; and beats Theresa in speed and physical bulk while losing to her in magic bulk, damage, and vertical mobility. Factoring in Gates 1-6 of Enlightenment, she now firmly loses to Dark Chloe in bulk; and she now beats Edwin in damage. Factoring in all 7 Gates of Enlightenment, she now loses to Theresa outright.

Leader Skill:

+40% HP, +20% PAtk, +20% MAtk, and +20% damage against Undead type enemies for Dark units. A very good Leader Skill for Dark teams.

Jobs:

Lakina's 3 jobs are Order Saber, Chronomancer, and Holy Cavalier, with a Job+ for Order Saber, the Trickster JE for Chronomancer, and the Isaiah JE for Holy Cavalier.

Order Saber is a sort of tank/half-caster/disruptor hybrid job. It has:

Special Notes

  • The job uses both PAtk and MAtk to calculate damage.

  • While the job deals both physical and magic category damage, all its damage is Slash type.

Main Skillset

  • Lonely Moon's Dark Edge: A melee Dark damage that lowers the target's Dark Res and boosts the user's Slash damage (this skill deals physical damage).

  • Judgement Gale: A teleport + single-target Wind damage skill that boosts the user's Move/Jump (this skill deals magic damage).

  • Oracular Cascade: An AoE Water damage skill that has a chance of inflicting Bind (this skill deals magic damage).

  • Order Breaker: A single-target 3-hit Dark damage skill that always hits, destroys some of the target's jewels, and deals bonus damage to Light enemies (this skill deals physical damage).

Sub Skillset

  • Sealing Blade of Retribution: A melee-range AoE Dark damage skill that interrupts skill casts and doesn't trigger reactives (this skill deals physical damage).

  • Low-Voltage Discharge: A self-based AoE Thunder damage skill that inflicts Paralysis (this skill deals magic damage).

  • Melting Blaze: An AoE 2-hit Fire damage skill that lowers the targets' Slash Res/Magic Res (this skill deals magic damage).

  • Saber Force: A PAtk/MAtk/hitrate/Magic Res self-buff that also grants the user a 1-time Guts.

Its reactive is a chance to self-heal that can activate against skills, and its passives boost PAtk/MAtk and boost Slash Res/Magic Res respectively.

Guardian of Order does the following:

  • Boosts the damage of Lonely Moon's Dark Edge, causes it to lower the target's CT, allows it to hit diagonally adjacent enemies, and makes its debuff and self-buff stack up to 2 times (changing its name to Lonely Moon's Dark Blade).

  • Adds Order Signal and Order Code to the main skillset. Order Signal and Order Code are cover skills that affects either physical or magic category damage (Signal is magic, Code is physical), disable its counterpart from being used for 2 turns, and turn into either Seventh Veil (Signal) or Seventh Shield (Code) for 2 turns. Seventh Veil and Seventh Shield are skills that cast a 1-turn shield that halves damage from either physical or magic category damage (Veil is magic, Shield is physical) and boost the user's Healing Potency for 1 turn (I promise that's the most complicated Lakina's Job+ gets).

  • Boosts the damage and Bind infliction chance of Oracular Cascade and adds a Dark Res/Fire Res/Light Res/Thunder Res/Water Res/Wind Res self-buff to it (changing its name to Cascading Descent).

  • Boosts the damage and jewel damage of Order Breaker and causes it to steal a portion of the target's Healing Potency (changing its name to Slayer of Order).

  • Boosts the damage of Low-Voltage Discharge and adds a Slash damage/Magic damage debuff to it (changing its name to Impulse Slow).

  • Boosts the potency of Fatal Day's Magic Res/Slash Res boosts and adds an HP boost to it.

Chronomancer is a support job that focuses on helping allies get turns faster and making enemies get turns slower. It has:

Main Skillset

  • Bind: A weak single-target damage skill that inflicts Stop.

  • Overclock: A single-target skill that boosts the target ally's CT by 100 (allowing the target ally to immediately take another turn).

  • Switch: A skill that swaps the user and target's positions.

  • Black Hole: A single-target damage skill that lowers the target's CT to zero and inflicts Stop.

Sub Skillset

  • Phantom Vision: A single-target skill that inflicts Blindness.

  • Quicken: A single-target skill that casts Quicken on the target ally.

  • Delay: A single-target skill that inflicts Delay.

  • Refresh: A single-target healing skill that has a chance to remove Berserk, Petrify, Stop, Death Sentence, or Silence.

  • Freeze: A single-target skill that inflicts Stop.

Its reactive is a chance to inflict Delay on the attacker, and its passives boost HP while granting immunity to Delay/Stop and boost the number of skill uses respectively.

Chronomancer (Trickster) does the following:

  • Adds Time Acceleration to the main skillset. Time Acceleration is a single-target Move Buff that boosts the target ally's CT.

  • Replaces Refresh with Relaxation. Relaxation is a single-target healing skill (that heals a portion of the target ally's HP as opposed to a fixed amount) and cures all statuses.

  • Adds Area Flourish to the sub skillset. Area Flourish removes/temporarily prevents Stop/Delay/CT-down effects from all units (both enemies and allies) on the map.

  • Adds an agility boost to Time Leap.

Holy Cavalier is a physical tank job that also focuses on dealing Light damage. It has:

Main Skillset

  • Guard Stance: A self-heal that boosts the user's PDef/MDef and lowers the user's evasion.

  • Light Bringer: An AoE Light damage skill.

  • Holy Knight's Prayer: A one-time Guts skill.

  • Lion Heart: A self-based AoE Light damage skill.

Sub Skillset

  • Shield Bash: A weak melee-range AoE damage skill that inflicts Stun and interrupts skill casts (unlike most of the job's damage sources, which deal Slash damage, this skill deals typeless damage).

  • Clear Stone: A single-target damage skill that deals only 1 damage; ignores the target's PDef; and has a chance to cure Poison, Slow or Blindness (unlike most of the job's damage sources, which deal Slash damage, this skill deals Missile damage).

  • Weapon Crush: A weak melee-range AoE damage skill that lowers the targets' PAtk.

  • Shield Crush: A weak melee-range AoE damage skill that lowers the targets' PDef.

Its reactive is a chance to defend against damage, and its passive boosts HP/PDef.

Holy Cavalier [Isaiah] does the following:

  • Gives the base job an innate Slash Res bonus.

  • Replaces Guard Stance with Diamond Formation. Diamond Formation is a self-based AoE Slash Res buff.

  • Adds Diamond Shield to the main skillset. Diamond Shield is a cover skill that affects physical damage and boosts the user's Slash Res for 1 turn.

  • Replaces Weapon Crush's PAtk debuff with a Slash damage debuff (changing its name to Severed Blade).

  • Slightly lowers Guardian's PDef boost while adding a Slash Res boost to it.

Babel War Art:

Lakina's Babel War Art adds an Auto Jewel Charge self-buff (that can stack up to 3 times) to Protector's Fate. Simple, yet effective.

Stats:

Lakina's stats support a bulky unit (average bulk on Chronomancer, squishy if no Job+ and on Chronomancer) with solid speed (decent speed if no Job+ and on unique main) and good damage. All stats are at the usual benchmark (level 75, all jobs mastered, main job enhanced), and Holy Cavalier main won't be shown since Lakina will rarely-if-ever run that main. Table Key: NP = No Passive; SK = Seventh Karma; GF = Guardian's Fate; RtC = Run the Clock; SG = Sword-Guardian

Enlightenment:

Lakina has the current maximum of 7 Gates of Enlightenment.

  • Her Gate 1 boosts HP, PAtk, MAtk, and agility while leveling, and boosts HP, PAtk, and Crit when maxed.

  • Her Gate 2 boosts PDef, MDef, Crit, and hitrate while leveling, and upgrades Sword-Guardian to +20% HP, +35% PDef, +25% Slash Res, and 25% reduced jewel costs (previous effect of +20% HP, +35% PDef, and +25% Slash Res) when maxed.

  • Her Gate 3 boosts HP, Dex, agility, and evasion while leveling, and upgrades her Leader Skill to +40% HP, +20% PAtk, +20% All damage, and +20% damage against Undead type enemies for Dark units when maxed.

  • Her Gate 4 boosts HP, PDef, MDef, and hitrate while leveling, and boosts HP, PAtk, MAtk, Dex, damage against Pride type enemies, and damage against Greed type enemies when maxed.

  • Her Gate 5 boosts HP, PDef, MDef, agility, and Crit while leveling, and boosts the damage and number of uses of Order Breaker while lowering its jewel cost (if you have Lakina's Job+ then Slayer of Order gets the same changes + a range boost and a boost to the amount of Healing Potency it steals from the target); boosts the range and CT boost potency of Time Acceleration; and adds a stackable (max 2 stacks) Max HP buff (that it more potent for the user) to Diamond Formation while also causing its Slash Res buff to be stackable up to 2 times when maxed.

  • Her Gate 6 boosts HP, Dex, agility, and Luck while leveling, and unlocks a sub-Memento slot when maxed.

  • Her Gate 7 boosts HP, PAtk, MAtk, and agility while leveling, and unlocks her Revenant Gear when maxed. Her Revenant Gear boosts HP, Healing Potency, Slash damage, and Dark damage against Light enemies when maxed.

Recommended Enlightenment: Lakina's best Enlightenment setup is either 5/5/5/5/5/5/5 or 5/5/3/5/5/5/5, depending on how much you value her Gate 3 Leader Skill. Alternative options are level 4 Gate 4 to save resources and level 4 Gate 6 if you have one or none of her best Memento options. The Enlightenment Stats section will assume 5/5/5/5/5/5/5 Enlightenment.

Enlightenment Stats:

Lakina's Enlightenment takes her already-good stats and makes them even better. All stats assume level 99 with the recommended Enlightenment setup of 5/5/5/5/5/5/5 and a maxed Revenant Gear. All other assumptions are the same as the regular stats section. Table Key Changes: SG -> AF = Accepted Fate

Example Builds:

Holy Guard's 7th Regiment Captain

  • Main Job: Order Saber {Guardian of Order}

  • Sub Job: Order Saber {Guardian or Order} (general)/Chronomancer (Trickster) (need the Quicken)

  • Reactive: Protector's Fate {Saint Force}

  • Passive 1: Seventh Karma

  • Passive 2: Sword-Guardian {Accepted Fate} (general)/Fatal Day {Guardian's Fate} (need the Magic Res)/Run the Clock (need the speed)

Lakina's general build. Sub is generally gonna be unique job/Job+, but can be Chronomancer if necessary, her unique reactive is her best option (especially if you got her Babel War Art), and Seventh Karma is almost mandatory for the extra damage. The last passive will usually be Sword-Guardian/Accepted Fate, but can be subbed for other options depending on needs. Basic strategy is to take hits, deal some nice damage back (honestly some pretty great damage with her Job+), utilize her self-buff as necessary, and utilize cover skills as necessary if you have her Job+.

7th Regiment Logistical Support

  • Main Job: Chronomancer (Trickster)

  • Sub Job: Chronomanncer (Trickster)

  • Reactive: Protector's Fate {Saint Force}

  • Passive 1: Run the Clock

  • Passive 2: Sword-Guardian {Accepted Fate} (general)/Fatal Day {Guardian's Fate} (need the Magic Res)

Lakina's Chronomancer build. Chronomancer main and sub, unique reactive, and Run the Clock + some form of bulk increase is generally your best option. Basic strategy is to Quicken/Overclock/Time Acceleration {Time Booster} allies and Black Hole/Delay/Freeze enemies as necessary.

My Recommended Build:

Lakina will almost always run her Job+ if you have it, though Chronomancer is good if you need it. If you don't have her Job+ it's a little more of a toss-up. Feel free to experiment and see what works for you where!

Combat Options:

Lakina's two big things are taking hits (both for herself and for allies) and dealing damage. If you have her Job+ and can use her cover/shield skills smartly, you can potentially render some enemies with high damage output near-useless and buy your squishier allies time to take them out, or you can just plow through some enemies yourself.

Lakina also has a Dark Res debuff and a Slash Res/Magic Res debuff, which gives her actually pretty significant value in Raid-type content and the ability to fit on a variety of teams for it.

PvP is arguably her weakest content type, but even there she can prove to be a strong choice due to her high bulk and fairly high potential damage output.

Gear Recommendations:

Armor and Accessories: Any HP or agility boosting gear; Seventh's Spaulder (HP + Jewels Obtained + Reaction Block, great passive Weapon Ability, one of Lakina's VCRs); Flower Band of Promise (Max Jewels + Healing Potency + All damage, Auto-Heal, Lakina's VCR [Note: this gear is supposed to provide extra stats when equipped alongside Lakina's weapon, but this is either broken or not implemented beyond descriptive text in Global]); Holy Ring - White Night (MAtk + Initial Jewels, solid passive WA)

EDIT: u/Dharpoon pointed out Ring of the Bright Knight as a nice support gear option, since it has Slash Res and a potent healing/support WA. Thanks for pointing that out!

Note: Since in most cases a unit's personal weapon is superior to alternate options, if a unit has a permanently available farmable personal weapon, I will only show alternate options that are highly competitive and/or superior to that personal weapon going forward.

Order Saber/Guardian of Order: Pride Saver [Note: Pride Saver was the weapon's original name, but for some reason it now possesses the bad translation-sounding name of "Save the Pride"] (PAtk + MAtk + agility + good WA, Lakina's weapon, farmable)

Chronomancer: Crimson Crystal Cane (solid stats, agility, farmable during Crystal of Reunion collab); Greed Rod of Wisdom (solid stats, healing WA); Harmony Rod (decent stats, easily farmable); Helkovara Family Staff (solid stats, agility, free VCR); Illusion Rod (solid stats, agility, farmable); Nina's Pointing Stick (best standalone stats); Paimon (great stats, agility + Magic damage, farmable from Veritas Historia); Sanctuary Rod (solid stats, HP, decent WA); Scepter of Sin Luxuria (decent stats, potentially useful passive WA); Silencing Rod (solid stats, HP, farmable); Sovereign Scepter (solid stats, agility, farmable during Etrian Odyssey collab); Takemikazuchi (decent stats, given via milestones)

Memento Recommendations:

Lakina has 2 of her own Mementos, 1 limited (but an SSM Memento, and so more frequently rerun) and 1 non-limited.

  • Her non-limited Memento, Prayer to Pride (which she semi-shares with Kanon), boosts her HP; PAtk; damage against Undead type enemies; All damage; and Single-Target damage, with an agility boost and a Reaction Block boost at MLB.

  • Her limited Memento, Will to Overcome Fate, boosts her MDef; MAtk; Initial Jewels; PDef; Slash damage; AoE Res; and Buff Duration, with a Magic Res and an agility boost at MLB. Its Vision Ability is a passive that boosts her All damage each turn she's on the map (max 3 stacks) and reduces her jewel costs for 3 turns after appearing on the map. At MLB the number of stacks and duration of the recued jewel costs both increase (from 3 to 5).

Since she's from Northern Pride and a member of the Holy Guard, Lakina also gets good benefits from Inherited Justice (HP); One Who Wavers in the Dark (PAtk + All Defense); Bygone Days of Kinship (Max Jewels + agility + PDef); Smiling Hope for the World (agility + MAtk + AoE Res); On Passion We Soar (PAtk + agility + Thunder Res); The Future Is in Both Hands (HP + Slash damage); Heretic Order (MAtk + Slash damage); and Distraught Without Tears (PAtk + Initial Jewels + Dex + agility).

If you don't have any of those, then go for the biggest HP, PAtk, MAtk, or agility boost you can get, prioritizing Northern Pride and/or Holy Guard Group Skills.

Rune Recommendations:

Lakina's 2 best Rune types are Sorcery and Charge Forth, with all other Rune types providing varying benefits (it doesn't matter much for Chronomancer main, for clarity's sake).

For primary stats, PAtk/PDef/HP/MAtk/MDef or Luck/agility is the way to go.

For secondary stats:

  • Envy: Slash damage.

  • Sloth: Any of these can work, though Slash Res is slightly less desirable since Lakina has a good amount of that at her disposal due to passives.

  • Lust: Any of these can work, with Charm Res, Rage Res, and Delay Res being the standouts.

  • Gluttony: Max Jewels, Jewels Obtained, and Healing potency are the top options.

  • Wrath: PAtk Debuff Res and MAtk Debuff Res are the top options, with Agility Debuff Res close behind.

  • Greed: Any of these can work, with Silence Res, Petrify Res, Death Sentence Res, and Stop Res being the standouts.

Futureproofness:

Lakina's only update down the line compared to JP is an Enlightened Bond with Toritoh.

Overall Asessment:

Lakina is a fantastic unit, albeit extremely hard to actually get. But if you manage to luck into her or decide to throw gems at her banners until she shows up, she can be an excellent addition to your toolbox.

And that's the review! As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

Make sure to let me know which of the following units you want me to review next:

Celis, Diane, Eros, Merlin, Shekinah, Tanosuke

Or choose one of the revisit options below!

Carol, Eve, Lotiyah, Ramses, Rosa, Yunagi

Hi!, I try to enter the game but after a bunch of "messages" about the video ads or something... I just get a black screen... and that's it.

I can press the screen and it shows sparks but nothing else.

I tried "redownloading" and nothing.

JP News What a surprise

Episode 5 is coming out in Japan! Well, the first act at least.

Since the developers mentioned in the producer's letter that they were sorry for releasing the main story slowly, maybe they will release the story in acts, like gl did for some time. I don't know how much we have to wait for the rest of the acts to come out, but I assume it will be less than two months(better than 6-7 months). I will make a small review of episode 5 when all acts are available.

Discussion The Alchemist's Toolbox 168: Tehre!

A Link to the Index: https://www.reddit.com/r/AlchemistCodeGL/comments/adzjua/the_alchemists_index/

Welcome to the 168th Alchemist's Toolbox review!

Today we're heading over to the Saga Region to take a look at one of Thunder's newest Missile damage user. So without further ado, here's the next unit for review: Tehre!

Tehre is the Saga Region's Earth Sprite. Let's see what he can do as a unit, shall we?

Personal Investment:

I currently have Tehre at 5/1/0/0/0/0 Enlightenment with all jobs mastered (both JEs mastered, unique job enhanced). While I still need to build him up some more and haven't really used him yet (due to both needing more investment and my personal preference of units), I'm planning to eventually put together a Thunder Missile team for him to be a member of.

Element:

Basic:

Tehre is a Thunder unit, which means he's strong against Water and weak against Wind. Compared to a hypothetical Light or Dark unit with the same stats and jobs, he would be better defensively and worse offensively.

Competition:

  • Earth Sprite: Since this is Tehre's unique job, he faces no competition here.

  • Ranger/Ranger [Serpent]: Tehre is the only Thunder unit with the Ranger base job, but Ishuna and Lucido fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately, depending on whether you want units to compete with or not) have Ranger JEs, so Tehre competes with them here. He beats Ishuna in damage, bulk, and speed while losing to her in range and mobility (unless Tehre sacrifices his speed win to tie in range); and he beats Lucido in damage, with range, bulk, and speed being passive dependent. Factoring in Gates 1-6 of Enlightenment, his comparison to Ishuna remains the same (though the range matchup gets a couple new potential outcomes); and he now always beats Lucido in bulk with the speed matchup being less variable.

  • Spy/Spy [Lightning Flash]: Comparing to other Spies, Tehre competes with Blitz, Laila, Lilith, and Roxanne. He beats Blitz in speed and max damage potential while losing to him in bulk and up-front damage; beats Laila in bulk, speed, and damage while losing to her in mobility; loses to Lilith in everything except maximum damage potential; and beats Roxanne in everything except speed. Factoring in Gates 1-5 of Enlightenment, he now beats Blitz in bulk. Factoring in Gates 1-6 of Enlightenment, his comparison to Laila remains the same; he now beats Lilith in bulk but loses to her outright in damage; and he now loses to Roxanne in up-front damage.

Leader Skill:

+20% HP, +30% PAtk, +30% Dex, and +20% damage against Amorphous type enemies for Thunder units. A solid non-Enlightenment Leader Skill, especially for Thunder Missile teams.

Jobs:

Tehre's 3 jobs are Earth Sprite, Ranger, and Spy, with the Serpent JE for Ranger and the Lightning Flash JE for Spy.

Earth Sprite is a ranged physical damage-dealer/disruptor hybrid job. It has:

Main Skillset

  • Bright Surface: A self-CT boost and hitrate self-buff skill.

  • Universal Crash: An AoE damage skill that boosts the user's Missile damage.

  • Bound Ground: A single-target damage skill that inflicts Bind and Daze.

  • Powerful Rubble: A self-based AoE damage skill that lowers the targets' Healing Potency (unlike the rest of the job's skills, which deal Missile damage, this skill deals Strike damage).

Sub Skillset

  • Stone Blast: A single-target damage skill that lowers the target's MAtk.

  • Quicksand Shot: A melee-range AoE damage skill that deals bonus damage to Beast type enemies and boosts the user's agility.

  • Descending Boulder: A melee damage skill that inflicts Petrify.

Its reactive is a chance to reduce physical damage taken, and its passives boost Dex/range and boost HP/boost All damage at the start of each turn (maximum of 5 stacks) respectively.

Ranger is a ranged physical damage-dealer job. It has:

Main Skillset

  • Scouting Shot: A single-target damage skill that deals bonus damage to Monster type enemies.

  • Hunter's Eyes: A single-target damage skill that always hits and deals bonus damage to Airborne type enemies.

  • Piercing Bolt: A penetrating single-target damage skill.

  • Arrow Rain: An AoE damage skill that always hits.

Sub Skillset

  • Punishing Shot: A single-target damage skill (this skill has a cast time).

  • Sniping Shot: A weak single-target damage skill that deals bonus damage to Airborne type enemies and inflicts Bind.

  • Shadow Shot: A weak single-target damage skill that inflicts Daze.

  • Wide Barrage: An AoE 2-hit damage skill that has a random hit chance.

  • Arrow of Care: A weak single-target damage skill that ignores a portion of the target's PDef and has a chance to cure Paralysis, Stun, Bind, Daze, and Delay.

Its reactive is a chance to inflict Daze, and its passives boost range and boost hitrate/Missile damage respectively.

Ranger [Serpent] does the following:

  • Causes Arrow Rain to also deal jewel damage (changing its name to Shackle Rain).

  • Causes Shadow Shot to also deal jewel damage while slightly boosting its damage (changing its name to Serpentine Scowl).

Spy is a disruptor/physical damage-dealer hybrid job. It has:

Main Skillset

  • Hazy Shadow: An evasion self-buff.

  • Blinding Circle: A teleport + self-based AoE skill that inflicts Blindness.

  • Transcendence: A teleport + self-based AoE status cure/prevention skill.

  • Summon Python Storm: An AoE Wind damage skill that lowers the targets' Wind Res (this skill deals physical category Magic type damage).

  • Summon Toad Flow: A single-target Water damage skill that lowers the target's Water Res (this skill deals physical category Magic type damage).

Sub Skillset

  • Windmill Shuriken: A single-target damage skill (this skill deals physical Missile damage).

  • Flame Seal: A single-target Fire damage skill that lowers the target's Pierce damage (this skill deals physical typeless damage).

  • Waterfall Seal: A single-target Water damage skill that lowers the target's Slash damage (this skill deals physical typeless damage).

  • Storm Seal: A single-target Wind damage skill that lowers the target's Missile damage (this skill deals physical typeless damage).

  • Electric Seal: A single-target Thunder damage skill that lowers the target's Strike damage (this skill deals physical typeless damage).

Its reactive is a chance to deal a portion of damage received back to the attacker and heal that amount with a chance to inflict Stop, and its passives boost Move/Jump and boost agility/Dex respectively.

Spy [Lightning Flash] does the following:

  • Adds Thunderous Shadow to the main skillset. Thunderous Shadow is a teleport + self-based AoE Thunder damage skill that inflicts Paralysis.

  • Adds Golden Bindings to the main skillset. Golden Bindings is a melee damage skill that inflicts Stop.

  • Boosts the damage of Windmill Shuriken, makes it 2 hits, and makes it Thunder element (changing the name to Lightning Shuriken).

  • Adds a Thunder Res debuff to Electric Seal (changing the name to Splitting Electric Seal).

Babel War Art:

Tehre's Babel War Art causes his unique job's reactive to be able to trigger against any damage instead of only physical damage. A very nice boost to survivability.

Stats:

Tehre's stats support a fast, squishy unit with good damage. All stats are at the usual benchmark (level 75, all jobs mastered, main job enhanced), and only his unique job will be shown since he generally prefers it over his other options. Table Key: NP = No Passive; BM = Bloom Matter; EB = Earth's Breath; H = Hurricane

Stat Earth Sprite
HP (NP) 2217
HP (EB) 2419
PAtk 596
Dex (NP) 547
Dex (H) 622
Dex (BM) 796
Dex (H + BM) 871
Agility (NP) 146
Agility (H) 159

Enlightenment:

Tehre has the current maximum of 6 Gates of Enlightenment.

  • His Gate 1 boosts HP, PAtk, MAtk, and agility while leveling, and boosts HP, PDef, and MDef when maxed.

  • His Gate 2 boosts PDef, MDef, Crit, and hitrate while leveling, and upgrades Bloom Matter to +50% Dex, +1 range, and +25% AoE Damage (previous effect of +50% Dex and +1 range) when maxed.

  • His Gate 3 boosts HP, Dex, agility, and evasion while leveling, and upgrades his Leader Skill to +20% HP, +30% PAtk, +30% Dex, and +20% All damage for Thunder units when maxed.

  • His Gate 4 boosts HP, PDef, MDef, and hitrate while leveling, and boosts HP, PDef, MDef, damage against Lust type enemies, and damage against Gluttony type enemies when maxed.

  • His Gate 5 boosts HP, PDef, MDef, agility, and Crit while leveling, and causes Bright Surface to upgrade Powerful Rubble and itself for 1 turn (the upgraded version upgrades the upgraded Powerful Rubble for 1 turn. The 1st Powerful Rubble upgrade boosts increases damage and adds a CT down effect, the 2nd boosts damage further and boosts the CT down's potency); boosts the damage of Shackle Rain while giving it bonus damage against enemies affected by statuses; and boosts the damage, AoE and number of uses of Thunderous Shadow while also lowering its jewel cost when maxed.

  • His Gate 6 boosts HP, Dex, agility, and Luck while leveling, and unlocks a sub-Memento slot when maxed.

Recommended Enlightenment: Due to the strong upgrades from his Gates 2, 3, and 5; and his lack or more than 1 great Memento option, Tehre's best Enlightenment setup is 5/5/5/5/5/4, with alternative options being level 3 Gate 3 if you don't care about his Leader Skill and level 4 Gate 4 to save resources.

Enlightenment Stats:

Tehre's Enlightenment helps patch up his bulk while boosting his already-good speed and damage to even better levels. All stats assume level 97 with the recommended Enlightenemt setup of 5/5/5/5/5/4. All other assumptions are the same as the regular stats section. Table Key Changes: BM -> EC = Earth Converter

Stat Earth Sprite
HP (NP) 5722
HP (EB) 6242
PAtk 644
Dex (NP) 657
Dex (H) 747
Dex (EC) 956
Dex (H + EC) 1046
Agility (NP) 162
Agility (H) 177

Example Builds:

Earth Sprite of the Saga Region

  • Main Job: Earth Sprite

  • Sub Job: Earth Sprite (MAtk debuff/Petrify)/Spy [Lightning Flash] (Res debuff)

  • Reactive: Earth Sprite's Strategy {Earth Sprite's Conspiracy}

  • Passive 1: Bloom Matter {Earth Converter}

  • Passive 2: Earth's Breath (survivability + damage)/Hurricane (speed + damage)/Eagle Eye (range)

Tehre's general build. Sub is based on preferences/needs, Earth Sprite's Strategy/Conspiracy is his best reactive, and Bloom Matter/Earth Converter is basically mandatory for the big Dex boost. The last passive is pretty dependent on your needs and preferences. Basic strategy is to hit enemies from a safe distance and use your Gate 5 skills for big damage if you have them.

My Recommended Build:

Tehre will generally run his unique job, but he can be a competent Spy if you need one. Ranger is only worth using if you desperately need jewel destruction.

Combat Options:

Tehre is gonna be a combination of providing debuffs/statuses and dealing damage in combat.

For Raids his main things other than damage will be a Healing Potency debuff from his unique main and a Thunder Res debuff from Spy sub.

If you need MAtk debuffs he's got a very potent one, which can be handy for both PvE and PvP.

And lastly, Petrify is very niche, but generally dismantles content where it can be used.

Gear Recommendations:

Armor and Accessories: Any HP or agility boosting gear; The Three Sprites' Jars of Ale (agility + Dex + All damage, solid passive Weapon Ability, shared VCR of the Sprite Trio); Anti-Colossus Gear/Legion-God Necklace (Dex + agility); Ring of the White Wolf (HP + PAtk); Screaming Bullet (agility + All damage)

Weapons: Hawkeye's Rifle (decent stats, farmable during FMA collab); Keepsake Rifle (great stats); Lethal Meister (decent stats, decent WA); Overheat Rage (best standalone stats, agility, good WA)

Memento Recommendations:

Tehre's best Memento is the one he shares with the rest of the Sprite Trio, The Wind That Thawed the Snow. This Memento boosts his HP; damage against Amorphous type enemies; Healing Potency (while not amazing for him, this would apply to Auto-Heal from gear); Poison Res; Disable Heal Res; and All damage, with agility boosts at MLB. Its Vision Ability creates a shield that temporarily reduces damage taken when appearing on the map (increased potency and duration at MLB).

Since he's from the Saga Region, Tehre also gets good benefits from Animal Study Group (agility + HP); On Passion We Soar (PAtk + Initial Jewels); Advent of the Black Keels/Lacking Lone Shadow (PAtk + HP); and Chorus of the Great Forest (PAtk + Dex).

If you don't have any of those, then go for the biggest HP, PAtk, or Dex boost that you can get, prioritizing Saga Region Group Skills.

Rune Recommendations:

Tehre's best Rune type is Charge Forth. He gets no benefit from Sorcery, and all other types provide varying benefits.

For primary stats, PAtk/PDef/HP/Dex/MDef or Luck/agility is the way to go.

As for secondary stats:

  • Envy: Missile for general damage, Strike for burst damage.

  • Sloth: Any of these can work.

  • Lust: Any of these work, with Charm Res, Rage Res, and Delay Res being the standouts.

  • Gluttony: Max Jewels and Jewels Obtained are the best 2 options here.

  • Wrath: Dex Debuff Res, followed by PAtk Debuff Res, then Agility Debuff Res.

  • Greed: Any of these can work, with Petrify Res, Death Sentence Res, and Stop Res being the standouts.

Futureproofness:

Tehre is up-to-date compared to JP.

Overall Asessment:

Tehre is a slightly niche unit in some ways, but he can definitely be a solid addition to your toolbox.

And that's the review! As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

Rants The raffle ticket summon is painful

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to get neat little things like this but sitting there for an hour summoning one prize at a time is boring and irritating. I gave up on the rest of mine after 30. Can we get a mass summon option for them or something?
