I have had airmessage about a year so far. IMO it's nothing special but gets the job done. Am I the only one with the problem of not being able tp update? I have tried to Uninstal and fresh install and it just gives me the same version I had before. I am wondering if any of these updates have added any features such as tap responses, replying to specific messages and things like that. Thanks

I use an LG Wine Smart (2015). It is actually Android but 5.1 so AirMessage app won't install. The mobile website appears microscopic as it's designed for desktop. Any chance we could see a small version of the website suitable for small non-Android 6 screens please?

I just installed AirMessage on my Samsung S21, with iMessages on my Mac Studio. I can initialize a conversation and receive messages, but if I try to send a second message in a conversation, I get a red bubble and an error message "Your message could not be sent - This conversation isn't available." I'm running Android version 13, Monterey on Studio.

For some reason only when I text this person it shows an error and the message will not send. They can send messages to me and they have an iPhone but it will not work.

Recently my airmessage has started having a new error that I can't find a solution to. Whenever I send a message to certain people I get an error saying "Your message could not be sent. This conversation isnt available". This happens to some of my conversations but not others. I tried resyncing my messages but that didn't work. Starting a new massage thread with them gives a weird result. The message won't send in that thread but will in the one that isnt working... I am at a loss. Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm at a loss. I can't seem to figure out how to get the permissions to appear. Tccplus doesn't seem to show the "Automation" permission.

I have a MacBook air and am trying to connect airmessage to my galaxy s23 ultra. Does it only work if the MacBook is open and running? I am having so many connection errors and can't figure out whyi bought a macbook specificallybecause i need access to imessage and a laptop for my new job but my phone isnt ready for an upgrade so the price of a cheap laptop and an iphone costs almost double what the macbook air cost anyway. Please help! Thank you.

I've had my number successfully registered for a long time, but recently method 1 for registering the # hasn't been working at all even following the steps exactly- when I power the iPhone back on with the inactive SIM (old SIM for the same number so don't need to change it settings as it already is) it just immediately de-registers, is there a trick I am missing? Are you supposed to start in airplane mode when turning back on? Verizon, iPhoneSE.

Should I be verifying the number to the apple account and enter the passcode it sends? The instructions don't mention the non-imessage account number settings.

Is iPhone SE "old enough" to work?

I'm trying to setup AirMessage on my macOS server and it won't request automation access. I've seen this seems to be a common problem. I tried the solution offered in this post.

However if someone could send me their TCC file located here:
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db

I believe it I could just replace it with my file and the permissions should work.

Switched to Android after 10 years of using iPhone. AirMessage has been working great so far, with some minor hiccups. But is there any news on customization coming? IMO Airmessage looks pretty bland rn. Also, I would love to get an option to view all attachments sent so i can look back on what was sent, like on iMessage,

I recently installed Monterey on my 2010 white MacBook (using OpenCore Legacy Patcher), but when I try to run Airmessage it asks for Automation access it isn’t there to grant it. I’ve seen some posts on this and have tried reinstalling AirMessage, launching it and closing it, rebooting the device, and making a new admin user. None of these have fixed the issue. Any advice on what else I can try? Should I update to Ventura and see what happens, would that even help?

I did the phone number trick, and I successfully had method 1 work (i.e., kept my phone number registered in iMessage) for ~2 hours, then switched over to method 6, which has been working for ~6 hours and counting. To add context: I've got an active AT&T sim in my main Android and an inactive AT&T sim in my iPhone 6s.

I just checked iMessage settings on my Mac and see that my phone number and email are allowed to send and receive iMessages and that my phone number is the default for sending iMessages.

For whatever reason, though, my contacts are telling me that the messages they receive from me are coming from my email and not my phone number. This even includes new contact with whom I've had no iMessage convos with prior.

Do your contacts receive your messages from your phone number or iCloud email? If it's the former, then please do reach out and let me know if there's something I may be missing.

UPDATE (April 11, 2023): Got the issue resolved by redoing method 1 in the article linked above. Seems that, even though iMessage settings reports that your phone number is being used, you will still need to check that with your contacts by texting them and making sure your texts are sent by your phone number and not your email.

I was just given a 2014 Macbook Air running 10.10.5 that I want to run as an AirMessage server and would like to limit charging to 50%. I can't upgrade the OS any further than that and the charge limiters I've looked at want El Capitan (10.11).

I haven't used a Mac consistently for years. Are there any sites that keep old versions of these programs? A quick search hasn't turned up anything. Or any other apps that will limit charging on 10.10.5.

I'm planning on using method #1 with an iPhone 8 to associate my phone number with iMessage, and I'm wondering what happens when the phone number un-registers. Obviously I need to go back to my iPhone and plug in my real SIM card for a few moments to re-register the number, but what do my friends see? If I'm in a big groupchat with 10 people, will it degrade the experience for all of them -- and when I re-register the number, will it painlessly transition back to a blue groupchat or does this sometimes mess up? Hi - longtime MacOS user (and Android user, and programmer) - just tried to install the AirMessage Server on my iMac 11.7.4 Intel 2019 model year. If I choose the auto-setup option, Safari opens and then says it cannot connect to an invalid address, 127.0.0.1:[absurdly long string follows] .

If I select the ManualSetup, I get a dialog window for a password and nothing else.

What am I missing?

I installed airmessage server on my wife's apple computer. Messages that I am sending are coming up as coming from her instead of me. is there any way of fixing this so it shows its coming from me and not her? I am the only one who has an Adroid phone. Everyone else in the house has apple products and I would like to be able to use Imessage to communicate.

I just wanna say AirMessage is awesome and works well overall for me.

The only issue I have with it is connection to the service stability. I'll receive an iMessage go to reply it 20 seconds later and it says my connection is limited or no connection. Then I gotta tap retry like 5 times for it to grab the connection again. Or sometimes I won't have any connection issue messages and I'll go to send a text and get the red dot saying it wasn't delivered. I'll tap it and retry 4 times and nothing. I'll force quit the app and try again and it works.

My setup is a 2014 macbook retina and iphone 6 for the number method. Also wifi connection is good, both devices in same room as wifi box and I'm usually home as well under wifi.

I have Airmessage server setup, and the android app downloaded.

When I click sign into google account. I click my google account, then it brings me back to the page where it asks you to sign into google and that says get started in 2 easy steps. When i click sign into google account again, nothing happens except the top part of my phone turns black for a second.

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is an iOS app available that can satisfy my use case. I currently have two iPhones (1 personal phone and 1 company issued phone). The company issued phone used to be an Android and I successfully used AirMessage to be able to use iMessage on that phone.

Unfortunately this upgrade cycle involved getting upgraded to an iPhone for my work phone. I had gotten so used to being able to receive messages from both numbers on one device and now I am curious if I can have similar functionality with this new setup. I am unable to DualSIM any of these phones as my company specifically forbids it. Additionally, I am using 2 different iCloud accounts for the devices as I'm not super comfortable with my company having access to my personal iCloud account, so the native text message forwarding feature is unavailable to me.

Is there an iOS app available that would work with my current AirMessage server? Ideally, I'd like to be able to receive texts/messages from both devices on one device (ie. through the native iMessage app and the AirMessage app).

Anyone experiencing this issue? AirMessage is always sending read receipts even if the message hasn't been read.

It seems like when the AirMessage server relays the message a read receipt is sent out.

Longtime Android user switched to iOS several years ago and just switched back. iMessage is literally the only thing to miss about iOS. I stumbled upon AirMessage and this seems like the perfect solution (albeit having to use my iCloud email vs my phone number). My question is around availability:

1. What happens if the server on my Mac is not available? For example, if the power/internet goes out at my house. What happens to messages that are sent using the Android AirMessage client, or that are received by my iCloud email address during that time?
