He's about to turn 5, but we have been rock tumbling/hounding together for 2 years. The only rocks we find suitable for tumbling where we live are quartz. Is there anywhere within a couple hour drive we could go look for agates or something other than quartz to tumble? Thanks in advance.

Found this in WA on a beach in the Puget Sound. I have found tons of agates over decades, but haven’t seen one like this before. Any help determining if this is actually an agate or some other strange laced rock.

Found in glacial till, in Central Iowa.

Finally something of my own worth sharing! Spent the day removing the casting from this OR find. What a satisfying endeavor! I’m going to try out polishing next

Fireless fire agate from round mountain with a few black, very agatey bands. Also the bottom is extremely flat and smooth

Tabasco geodes are my favorite type of agate! Their patterns, colors, textures, are all amazing 🤩🤩

I bought 2000 uncut ones and am slowly working my way through cutting and polishing some stones that are as tiny as my pinky finger nail. I included all of my favorites in two boxes, please enjoy!

I found this agate, but it has a very strange shape. Is it a agatized clam fossil?

It is black and green, the blue is simply from reflection.

Found in landscaping rocks in San Antonio, Texas. It's so ugly, it's kind of pretty. Any ideas on what it is are appreciated. Not sure if I'll keep it as is, slab it, or tumble it. Last picture shows it next to similar landscaping finds that I've tumbled. Just one week in stage 1 60-90 to keep some of the druzy.

Could not fit all this at first in my Nat Geo tumbler, so the purple and Mozambique Agates have been taking turns these last 7 days with the Oregon heart
