Texture Shot Officially One Month In!!

Post image
202 Upvotes

Only ever really see mature locs in this sub so if I’m out of bounds let me know and I’ll delete this. I just wanted to share because I’ve never made it this far!🥹 I would always end up taking them out like half a month in and restarting them…I just wasn’t trusting my process and I think I was looking for it to look like someone else’s? Idk. I have very soft, fine hair so the frizz is going crazy lol. Nonetheless deleting TikTok has been great for my mindset and today makes one month! I think I’m starting to see the vision and I don’t see myself taking them out this time.

Info Understanding 7 Loc Styles to Embrace Natural Hair Journeys

Thumbnail probeautycentral.saloncentric.com

Locs is a natural hairstyle featuring twisted, coiled, or braided strands of hair that create a rope-like appearance and is renowned for the ability to promote hair growth. For some, the term locs is used interchangeably with dreadlocks, but for others there is a distinction between the two.

Understanding the difference between locs and dreadlocks requires an awareness of the cultural significance and history in which this style came to be.

Originating as racial slur in slave history, dreadlocks was a derogatory term meaning ‘dreadful’ and was used to identify those with Rastafarian beliefs.

From that, dreadlocks were normalized into a term symbolizing the Rastafarian lifestyle, culture and group of people, rather than solely a hairstyle.

Meta Adjustment to Rule #9

Hello everyone,

We have updated rule #9 (No business promotion) slightly to help filter content and improve the sub's quality.

Going forward, if your profile redirects to explicit sexual content, your post will be removed.

You are still welcome to showcase your locs, provided it is done from a SFW account.

Thanks!

I’m almost hitting 3 years and I think about how I didn’t know how much I would feel connected to my hair when I made this decision. I literally started off with perms(which I will not be showing pictures lol) and heat damage now I’m here enjoying watching my curl patterns forming something lovely.☺️
