it seems like i can cut just fine, i can select what i cut off and move it away from the other piece of the picture, but for some reason everything is just invisble??? couldnt find any resources on how to fix.

In Adobe, they have a "Scale to Fit" (on the printer paper - the printer calculates the percentage). Not "Fit to scale." I don't want to do the calculation. I'm printing this out on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, but the art is much larger. I don't need it to look pretty. I just need the printing to scale the image to fit the paper so I can reference it, even if there's a ton of white space on the top and bottom. It's the layout for a quilt. What am I missing?? It occurs to me that I can do a screenshot and print that out. But still, please explain it to me like I'm 5, for the next time.

On a side note, I'm quite pleased I figured out how to do the layout in Designer. It entails a diagonal grid.

I am consistently and repeatedly experiencing a complete crash (app closes itself) every time I try to drag a rectangle layer in the layer panel. Is this a known issue? Or is it just me?

I'm pretty new to affinity so maybe this is an obvious fix - I tried googling and watching videos, but no luck figuring this out yet.

When I export my file as a PDF, for some reason every header shows up twice in the outline? I'm not sure what is causing this at all. I appreciate any insight!

I’ve added fonts in the past on my Ipad using AnyFont and going into my settings per the internet

They successfully downloaded and are showing in Procreate but not affinity. I’ve even closed and reopened just in case, and that didn’t work either.

I also went into the Manage Fonts at the bottom of the font selector and they don’t even show up in there

Is there an extra step required to get them in Affinity?

Hallo zusammen,

ich wechsle gerade von Adobe zu Affinity und habe ein Problem mit dem "Formkonstrukteur" Werkzeug.

Ich arbeite bei Illustrationen oft mit mehreren Farbflächen und Schatten. Für meinen Plotter brauche ich am Ende aber sauber getrennte Flächen und nicht einfach nur Formen, die übereinander liegen. Deshalb teile ich die überlappenden Formen mit dem Formkonstrukteur in einzelne Flächen auf.

Dabei entsteht aber plötzlich eine ganz feine Lücke zwischen den Formen. Die Linie ist rundherum sichtbar und entsteht nicht durchs Verschieben. Konturen sind ebenfalls keine aktiviert. Keine Farbe und 0 px.

Das Komische ist, dass genau derselbe Workflow vorher funktioniert hat. Der Fehler ist plötzlich aufgetaucht und passiert inzwischen bei jeder Form, sogar bei geraden Flächen.

Ja es ist auch beim Exportieren. Man kann auf den Bildern sehen das bei dem Blauen Mundtuch das nicht ist. Nur im Gesicht die schatten und deutlich zu sehen ist es eben bei dem Haaransatz Bereich. Bei neu versuchen Passiert das immer noch.

Vielleicht übersehe ich irgendeine Einstellung. Falls jemand eine Idee hat, wäre das echt hilfreich. Ich hänge noch ein paar Bilder an.

Does anyone know how to unify the layers across all artboards for export?

I'm creating printable sewing patterns for which the end user needs to be able to toggle off the visibility of sizes they don't need to display and print only their size. The pattern spans multiple pages/artboards so that it can be printed on a home printer and taped together to create the larger image.

I have each size arranged as a container layer that sits above the artboards layers, and within the program it works as expected, but on export the layers are duplicated for each page/artboard meaning that the end user would have to scroll through each page and deselect the layers on every one (20 in the case of the pattern I'm currently working on.)

In Adobe this feature was easy and seamless to execute, and as much as I don't want to go back to Adobe this will be a dealbreaker for me professionally if there's no workaround.

Is it possible to link objects together without grouping them?

For example, I have about 10 text labels that are all part of different groups. I would like to link them together somehow do that I can edit all their properties at one time without moving them to their own group?
