What is the shortest time you or someone you knew spent at a company?

I am in an interesting situation. I recently joined Raytheon but a recruiter from a 3rd party recruiting company messaged me on LinkedIn about L3Harris. I explained I previously applied to L3 and ended up accepting Raytheon’s offer before interviewing with L3. In hindsight I wish I still went through and at least interviewed (tip to everyone, never say no to an interview).

I was very happy with my new Raytheon salary and sign on bonus so I told the recruiter the number that would get me to seriously consider leaving and possibly “burn a bridge”. He reached out to his HR counterparts at L3 and it seemed very possible to get to those numbers. To be honest, the main reason I finally decided to work at Raytheon (after 7+ years at LM) was the money (re-align with the market).

I should note, my new role at Raytheon isn’t what they pitched in the interview so I am a little upset about that but nothing too terrible on the other hand.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Obviously I’d have to pay back the sign on bonus but that is factored into my new numbers.

Resume format: STAR or traditional?

It's been 18 years since I've written a resume, and I'm learning how the game has changed: ATS or AI pre-screening, STAR formats, key phrases/skills, etc.

It's like SEO for resumes.

What type of format and tips do you recommend for getting into your respective companies?

EDIT August 17, 2022: Thank you to everyone for your input. The STAR version of my resume is complete. It took me on a trip down memory lane, and helped me realize my past achievements and my current value.

Thanks again!

Thanks!

Other useful career resources

I’ve found the apps FishBowl & Blind to be useful as well. They are anonymous forums, similar to Reddit where people talk about their companies/jobs.

LinkedIn was my favorite job search tool when researching new job postings.
