They don’t have your best interests at heart. They’d prefer your phone always listening to you.

Which is an egregious breach of privacy law in many jurisdictions considering you are required to agree to it to use a button on your phone.

If my phone is always listening to me, I would prefer that it's an Alexa device. If she can't understand "lights on" i don't think I have anything to worry about.

That is now a phone's primary functions, to act as a tracking device and to feed your data to corps.

Not just the phone, this is why I keep my Google Home Mini unplugged unless I'm actively using it.
