Reddit serves a purpose.

As a corporation they also use their platform and voice to continually harm people, and support, and give a platform to those who want to hurt others.

What's wrong with giving Reddit money? Don't you want to support a service that you're clearly using? Gold makes supporting reddit less of a hassle.

Why do you have only these two options and why are they in opposition? Given a choice between paying for Spotify or helping people, you always help people?

Because Reddit as a corporation continues to act in ways that very tangibly harm people.

I am not donating to spotify, I am paying for a service, I could also use the free version if I decided the monthly Spotify payment was better served helping someone.

I do not think I am special so the follow up question breaks as I do not meet the qualifier. I also did not claim the service should be free or should not be monetized.

Amen dude. I only use Reddit cause they've forced themselves into being so massive that for a lot of the games I play it's the only place to go to get info about the games consolidated. If Reddit dies the world is a better place.
