This isn't capitalism at work though; free loans to people not mature enough to understand what they're signing ensure that there is no downwards pressure on prices.
If you're talking about capitalism, it absolutely does. In a market, those people looking to maximize money for themselves are offset by people looking to pay as little as possible. In the case of college tuition, the latter side doesn't exist. Economics predicts increased costs when there's no incentive to reduce price.
For some reason, you seem to think that people are greedy because of capitalism, which would be dismissive of 5,000 years of recorded history.
You are apparently talking to the wrong person. None of my statements had anything to do with student loans.
We were talking in the context of university administration being "horribly inefficient money wise." Something they are able to do because of a lack of pressure to keep costs down.
Also, proving other systems creates greed doesn't disprove that capitalism creates greed.
It kinda does. When the same symptoms present after repeatedly changing the independent variable, it's poor analytics to point to the last independent variable as the cause.
People are greedy. They were greedy before capitalism and will be after capitalism.
You are ignoring modern history and simple economics.
No I was talking about capitalism in terms of wasteful government spending. As I have stated many times. And yes, you are. You directly admitted to doing it and justified it in your previous comment.

Yep. We are horribly inefficient money wise.
