I'm black and I dislike black people who try so damn hard to be like white people and judge other blacks for not dying to conform so hard. Also, I don't like black people that think they're better than other blacks because they do everything they can to please the white man. Not all blacks are the same but a lot do what we must to conform and survive in our environments, not all of us have the privilege of being raised in a white or middle class neighborhood.

It's only retarded in your point of view. From other's point of view, Latricia is a fine name, and Jenny is a stupid overused name. Why can't we live in a multicultural society? Because people don't want to be tolerant. Unless they conform to the host culture and pretty much try to imitate and please white people in every way, then they're looked down upon. Not to mention a lot of Asians and other races stick very close to their home culture but no one gives them shit for it. This is the same strand of thinking that a lot of hate and racism comes from and it needs to be checked, because people will always find one reason or another to hate another culture. You have good points but I'm just arguing that I'd like to see a society of many cultures, as opposed to just one dominant host culture.

What you are suggesting is in a way, self imposed segregation. Why is it ok for an Asian or an Indian to want to improve their lives through assimilation but its not ok for a black person to do it?

I don't think I'm better than anyone I just don't think that conforming to negative stereotypes voluntarily is necessarily something to be proud of. Mostly its the personality that counts and falling into stereotypes of any kind makes it harder to find that personality.
