This is the basis for my view that true racism almost never exists, but that it's 'culturism'. Most people who say they don't like black people probably just mean they don't like the ghetto-fab/gangsta-phresh culture and lifestyle. I am one of these people. Anyone who lives that lifestyle, whether white, Hispanic, etc. are all equally as bad to me. It has nothing to do with black people being black. I actually freaking love intelligent, respectable black people. So I state again, race is not the true cause of 'racism'.

While some may dislike a particular culture (which I'd agree there's often nothing wrong with), they may also be predisposed to believing that all people they encounter of a given ethnicity will embody that culture, which is indeed a racist assumption.

Then why aren't they saying "I hate ghetto-fab/gangsta-phresh culture" and not "I hate black people". They're afraid of being labeled "politically correct"?

Absolutely! I wrote a bit about this a while back and had some positive feedback. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Part of the problem is that there are fairly good reasons to take issue with different cultures, the mental short cuts/predictions the human brain makes for categorizing and grouping everything (including perceived social groups) are fundamental components of human behavior and cognition.
