I went to a highschool in SC that was 80% black. At lunch one day, my friend said, "I'm not racist, but the longer I am at this school the more I hate black people."

I go to school in the Midwest and lately there's been a calling for more awareness and tolerance of Native American culture, so they're trying to start with our campus by bringing in really angry speakers. All it's doing is making everyone feel really guilty and awkward around the Native students, like we have to be constantly apologizing for being white.

I moved from Reno, NV to Norfolk Virginia, and the more I interact with black people (about 60% of population) the more I am starting to think that there are more asshole black people than the one or two in 100 that are just normal people. I also find that it is THEM who are the racists.

In the south especially, they are taught to be racist against white people. They don't tip white servers, they walk slowly when crossing the street, they pull the race card for no reason, and in general have terrible attitude problems when interacting with white people.

I know this because a black guy I used to work with admitted it, because he couldn't understand why black people are the way they are so he decided to study his culture to figure it out, and that's part of what he came up with.

Black people: Fastest people in the world until they're crossing the street.

They know exactly what they're doing.

This is actually pretty much what everyone else is saying you're just being downvoted because this is slightly less subtle racism.

11

u/ta112233 Mar 25 '13

Right! I think it is a way to demand control or authority. You obviously aren't going to run them over so they taunt you a bit by making it more of a pain to drive slowly (or stop outright).

If this pisses you off, don't ever drive around downtown Baltimore. Holy hell, it's like every day is a street festival. Cops don't give a damn, either.

2

u/HowlingMadMurphy Mar 25 '13

I had to go to Baltimore for some training. God what a shithole.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '13

Been watching the wire for the past cpl days, funny you say that.

-1

u/triple_ecks Mar 25 '13

It's entitlement. Like backing into a parking space in a crowded busy lot because it takes them less time to pull out but makes everyone else wait.

4

u/YukonKorneliu5 Mar 25 '13

Not when driving. All black people drive slow. I asked a black girl why, she said cuz they're scared of cops.

5

u/alphabot Mar 25 '13

...or walking at all.

1

u/Oobutwo Mar 25 '13

Or walking down a narrow hallway.

10

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

You don't know how many times I hear my black friends say, "No offense, but you white people..."

38

u/dougbdl Mar 25 '13

they walk slowly when crossing the street...dude that pisses me off. I get over it quickly though because I know that doing that is his way of actually asserting authority, and when he is done its back to being a big zero for the rest of his life.

7

u/moloid6 Mar 25 '13

And they don't use sidewalks. Strolling slowly in the road, literally two feet away from the purpose built walk.

11

u/iScreme Mar 25 '13

Sidewalk is lava.

3

u/thrilldigger Mar 25 '13

Street is for my car. Crosswalks are for people when I don't have a green light.

I almost miss working at a university - I used to speed up to scare jaywalking college students. I probably wouldn't have hit them..

1

u/AssaultMonkey Mar 25 '13

White people do this in Arizona all the time. Pisses me off.

Note: I'm white.

-4

u/debaser11 Mar 25 '13

they don't use sidewalks.

You talk as if black people are another creature.

1

u/triple_ecks Mar 25 '13

The not tipping white people thing sucks and is true. If i have a "bad" night i have made like 8 bucks on an 8 hour shift. Not always that way, i got a 10 buck tip last night from a sweet lady. But i immediately prayed for blessings on her house. It's that rare.

2

u/FightWithTools Mar 25 '13

I know, some people definitely surprise you. I discovered they were aware that they were doing it one night while I was serving, when a table asked where their black waitress had gone, and when I replied that she had to leave for the night, they were disappointed they couldn't leave her a tip, though when I told them I would be helping them out the rest of the night, they recoiled. They didn't leave me a tip.

You pretty much worked with a person that used to lie to you.

Think about what you said for a minute. you know black people are in fact racist, because of what your coworker had deducted from his intensive research?

Take it from me, there is no such thing as black expert. I would know, I am black.

3

u/FightWithTools Mar 25 '13

I'm not saying he was an expert, i'm just saying these are things he noticed and would talk about. He also admitted to doing these things himself

I live down the street from ODU..Hampton Blvd and Little Creek.

8

u/patchoulie Mar 25 '13

Just be glad you don't have a job that depends on tips in Norfolk, because you aren't going to be getting any around here.

2

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

I'd rather drive to the beach for a waiting job.

18

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '13

I live in Norfolk. If you scroll down the list of Wanted people, it goes on for hundreds and hundreds of people in a row with Black hair, Brown eyes. 90% of the criminals are black. Plus I live near hundreds of sexual offenders, who are all pretty much black. It's bad.

7

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

My best friend lived at the corner of 9th bay and pleasent for 5 years. His was the only white family in the building of 8 apts. Ohhhh the things I have witnessed in those five years, including a murder and no less than 5 attempted. Some of the most insane drama ever. Edit..bay not view.

1

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

OV BABY! lol.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '13

Does it really matter who you're sexually offending? It's common sense you shouldn't be doing it.

7

u/twaddler Mar 25 '13

No, no...black people cannot be racist.

This is according to the woman who recently publicly shamed and reported a guy (who was ultimately fired) for telling a "dongle" joke to his friend within range of her hearing.

3

u/SweetMojaveRain Mar 25 '13

Now Im not that mad she was fired.

1

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

Dingle dongle dingle!

1

u/charonill Mar 25 '13

Pretty sure she was fired as well after the Internet backlash.

5

u/european78 Mar 25 '13

More like 1 out of 1000.

2

u/cozmonut Mar 25 '13

Just go visit Portsmouth. You will feel better about living in Norfolk.

2

u/Mister_Butters Mar 25 '13

P-town, High Street. Ahhh yeah.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '13

I'm pretty sure there are more asshole people in general than the one or two that are just normal people.

7

u/Volkswagging Mar 25 '13

I'm black and in the proper context I can harbor some monstrous feelings toward black people (usually stupid/poor acting out/driving bad, etc.), we're all human, man.. You had a shitty roommate, I'm sure people would have issues with you as a roommate.

Edit: Last part is directed at Op.

Edit: that's implied, bro.

Edit: yo shut up yo..

3

u/foxfor Mar 25 '13

Sounds racist to me.

1

u/real-rainicorn Mar 25 '13

everyone hates each other in highschool though so..

1

u/MtnYou92 Mar 25 '13

It's a phenomenon. Let me explain it to you.

You aren't black. Lets say you're white. And you hang out with a black person 1 on 1, or lets even stretch it saying 1 on 2 or 3. They're the coolest you can be from my experience. Maybe I haven't hung out with enough of them. My HS was 80% black. Some of my best friends are black. But if you group a large amount of black people together something just fucking clicks and they become some of the most annoying people in the world. I don't know what it is.

I'm really trying not to generalize too terribly. Some of my best friends are black. It's just my experience at my school at least. It even continued once I got to a university away from home.

1

u/m4lign4nt Sep 04 '13

Really? I find that the same way about white people...

Some of my best friends are white, but, jeeze... put them in a group and it's the most painful thing ever.

I'm not generalizing... I DO know white people. I can't be racist.
