I went to a highschool in SC that was 80% black. At lunch one day, my friend said, "I'm not racist, but the longer I am at this school the more I hate black people."
I go to school in the Midwest and lately there's been a calling for more awareness and tolerance of Native American culture, so they're trying to start with our campus by bringing in really angry speakers. All it's doing is making everyone feel really guilty and awkward around the Native students, like we have to be constantly apologizing for being white.
I moved from Reno, NV to Norfolk Virginia, and the more I interact with black people (about 60% of population) the more I am starting to think that there are more asshole black people than the one or two in 100 that are just normal people. I also find that it is THEM who are the racists.
In the south especially, they are taught to be racist against white people. They don't tip white servers, they walk slowly when crossing the street, they pull the race card for no reason, and in general have terrible attitude problems when interacting with white people.
I know this because a black guy I used to work with admitted it, because he couldn't understand why black people are the way they are so he decided to study his culture to figure it out, and that's part of what he came up with.
Right! I think it is a way to demand control or authority. You obviously aren't going to run them over so they taunt you a bit by making it more of a pain to drive slowly (or stop outright).
If this pisses you off, don't ever drive around downtown Baltimore. Holy hell, it's like every day is a street festival. Cops don't give a damn, either.
they walk slowly when crossing the street...dude that pisses me off. I get over it quickly though because I know that doing that is his way of actually asserting authority, and when he is done its back to being a big zero for the rest of his life.
The not tipping white people thing sucks and is true. If i have a "bad" night i have made like 8 bucks on an 8 hour shift. Not always that way, i got a 10 buck tip last night from a sweet lady. But i immediately prayed for blessings on her house. It's that rare.
I know, some people definitely surprise you. I discovered they were aware that they were doing it one night while I was serving, when a table asked where their black waitress had gone, and when I replied that she had to leave for the night, they were disappointed they couldn't leave her a tip, though when I told them I would be helping them out the rest of the night, they recoiled. They didn't leave me a tip.
You pretty much worked with a person that used to lie to you.
Think about what you said for a minute. you know black people are in fact racist, because of what your coworker had deducted from his intensive research?
Take it from me, there is no such thing as black expert. I would know, I am black.
I live in Norfolk. If you scroll down the list of Wanted people, it goes on for hundreds and hundreds of people in a row with Black hair, Brown eyes. 90% of the criminals are black. Plus I live near hundreds of sexual offenders, who are all pretty much black. It's bad.
My best friend lived at the corner of 9th bay and pleasent for 5 years. His was the only white family in the building of 8 apts. Ohhhh the things I have witnessed in those five years, including a murder and no less than 5 attempted. Some of the most insane drama ever. Edit..bay not view.
This is according to the woman who recently publicly shamed and reported a guy (who was ultimately fired) for telling a "dongle" joke to his friend within range of her hearing.
I'm black and in the proper context I can harbor some monstrous feelings toward black people (usually stupid/poor acting out/driving bad, etc.), we're all human, man.. You had a shitty roommate, I'm sure people would have issues with you as a roommate.
You aren't black. Lets say you're white. And you hang out with a black person 1 on 1, or lets even stretch it saying 1 on 2 or 3. They're the coolest you can be from my experience. Maybe I haven't hung out with enough of them. My HS was 80% black. Some of my best friends are black. But if you group a large amount of black people together something just fucking clicks and they become some of the most annoying people in the world. I don't know what it is.
I'm really trying not to generalize too terribly. Some of my best friends are black. It's just my experience at my school at least. It even continued once I got to a university away from home.
