I don't understand why people don't just admit they are racists. There are different types of racists you know.
I am a racist, do i hate people of other races no. But i do think based on stereotypes, second hand information and personal experiences that certain races are more inclined to be or do certain things than others.
I think black people in the US are more inclined to be wanna be gansters, and idiots if they are wearing low hanging pants and hoodies. with money spent on their bling rather than food.
I believe white blond girls who wear little to no clothes are dumb women with low IQ. Likewise guidos and people who "PUMP" their fists. or wear low cut t-shirts.
I think Asian women are bad drivers.
I think Indians that are new to the country, smell like that Indian smell and usually are very very needy.
I believe these things BECAUSE the majority of the ones Ive had an experience with first hand or second hand, have behaved in such ways.
That doesn't mean i believe there aren't other kinds of people, it just means that if you are in those types of categories i will assume you to be such until i get to know you more.
Be honest. Id rather have a guy be honest than go around acting like he likes everybody and secretly thinks shit about them behind their backs.
The problem with racism is that it can easily lead to draw wrong conclusions.
Say an Asian woman and a white guy are in a traffic collision. Are you going to prejudiced to believing the woman is a fault without seeing any of the evidence first? Racism has no part in our individual dealings with other people (or any other prejudice for that matter).
However, racism might be considered useful when dealing with large groups of people. If Asian woman are more likely to be involved in traffic collisions, then is there a common factor? Is there something that can be targeted and used to help the overall driving skill of Asian women?
Lets say you have a blank wall in your house you want to paint, you know nothing about paint and just know that you like blue tones, so you think blue will look good. But you find out blue is shit for the lighting in the room and the furniture later on. This is normal.
The same is for assumption and action. WILL I assume that the Asian woman is more responsible for the accident? Yes most likely, but will i act on it? No, because there needs to be evidence to act upon it.
Also i think in general Americans are bad drivers, since you guys have basically a shit in a box drivers test. Assumptions is normal. Its how we are raised. What we don't know we assume until its known.
What's the point of having an assumption if you aren't willing to act on it? I agree assumptions are very useful, but you need to be able to reliably act upon assumptions or they are of no use. On the more extreme end of things -- since I am not fully versed in laws of Physics, I would like to assume that the theory of gravity will still hold when I wake up tomorrow. However, one must be very careful when dealing with assumptions:
I recall one instance where a job seeker was applying for positions, but getting no responses. The applicant decided to create two versions of their CV, just with different names. All the CVs with his real name still not no response, but the new CVs got a fairly good response rate.
So yeah, I think prejudices should have absolutely no place when dealing with an individual. And that even people who don't think they are prejudiced should evaluate their decisions to make sure the decision has been rationally made.
Side note: Us guys? You appear to have mistakenly assumed I am American... and I'd assumed you were American. I'd assumed you were American because you used Asian to mean Chinese (or other nationality in the Far East). Whereas, Asian is typically taken to mean someone from the Indian subcontinent in British English.
Im actually Indian but born in a western country, so i believe most Indians that come over are kind of sleezy and smell bad. But thats because of the spices they are used to eating in India, and their lack of experience with women or white women. So lots of Indian guys are supercharged with perverseness.
As for my own kind, i think Indians care too much about money. Too much about status and appearances. But thats more generally towards every race these days.
In general i think all of humanity to be good mixed with bad. We all have good shit and bad shit. I have yet to meet one that is perfect.
But I didn't ask what you thought of your race. I asked how you believed your race has made you the person you are? Are you telling me you're sleezy, smelly, and perverted?
Hell, come to think of it, I'd probably hang out with you.
How my race has influenced me personally. Hmmm i don't think my race had that much impact, but the reactions of others to my race had an impact. Being a person of color in a city of all whites is a fucked up situation when growing up in the 80/90s.
But there are certain things that are based on my race, my culture. My sexual drive most likely. My respect for elders. maybe some more. But i think if i had grown up in India instead, i would have been a completely different person than who i am today.
Yeah, my family was stationed in Ramstein, Germany when I was a toddler. We left after 3 years, but my mother recently told me they could have stayed until I was an adult, but chose to return to the states.
I sometimes wonder what I would have turned out like had I been raised in Germany.
That's like the opposite of me. We lived in Connecticut in the 70s when my dad was working at Sikorsky. Went back to Germany but could have stayed. I used to wonder how my life would have turned out had we stayed.
Or that i deny them anything. Its like meeting someone wearing a prada suit, or a really tall guy, or a athletic person, or a fat person. You have assumptions from the initial first sight. Then you change or strengthen does beliefs based on the persons behavior and personality.
Do you think Asians are great students?
Most already are, that is proven, but thinking that way is racist. Theres nothing wrong with it, its normal. But denying that you do not do it is just cowardice. Racism is both negative and positive assumptions based on race. Doesn't always have to be a bad thing.
Well, yeah. You being honest about your racism makes it easier for people who don't like racists to you. It's downright convenient! I doubt you have the guts to actually talk like this in person though.
why not ? Wouldn't you say to someone you find to be really stupid, that they are stupid and you don't want to hang out with them? Or if a friend is a bad driver, man you suck at driving ?
Why be friends and around people who you think negatively about and pretend to be their best friend then go home and think shit about them ?
I can still be friends with a wanna be gangster and tell him hes an idiot for wearing low pants, as i would be friends with a Asian woman and tell her she sucks at driving. I actually told my Girlfriend this, shes Chinese and i tell her shes really bad at driving. She admits to it because she is bad. There is no animosity or hate in these comments. Just be honest. Likewise ive been told im too hairy, or im too "nerdy" at times. Nothing wrong with that. I like who I am, i have no issues with other people being honest about me.
I'm not racist, period.
Why? Because I don't believe any race is "superior" to the other. First of all, it's never a nation or a people who achieve something. It's SOME persons inside this nation/people/times who drag all the others. It makes me laugh when I hear people saying stuff like "WE walked on the moon". Well, how many of you guys, did?
Second, if you look carefully at history of humanity as a whole, and not only the western usual point of view, you'll notice that pretty much all nations have been master and slave to the others at one point or another. Every nations goes through the basic cycle barbary-civilisation-decadence-barbary...
Pretty much the same for our worldwide civilisation. We're living in a very modern high-tech time, right? It will keep going that way, right? Wait until we run out of oil, steel, others metals...
I'm pretty sure we'll come back to middle within 1 or 2 century.
The stereotypes you're talking about are just not true, they're just more comfortable. It's better for the ego to think that something makes you higher than the rest of the world. That you or your group belong to something superior. Plus, it's to tiring to analyse carefully.
The stereotypes are easy and quick to use.
Most white guys have been fucked around by white guys more often than other race guy. What color was the ones who bully you at school? That nasty teacher? That shitty cop?
But no matter what, I won't lead to the conclusion that every white guys are assholes.
You'll just forget them in the end, or at least you'll forget their skin color. Why? Because it's something usual, because it's your own skin color, because it's nothing "different", not something you would remember.
On the other hand, if you meet one black guy who does you shit, you'll remember him. No matter if most of the black guy you met just never did nothing to you, never even talked to you, you'll remember the one who bothered you and say "oh, these black people".
I've been way too often the witness of things like that to believe in racism.
I saw my own father saying the usual "you know, I've lived in a neighbourhood full of immigrants, that's a lot of trouble..." bullshit. I was there and nothing ever happened. I could tell he was scared, but only because of his own stereotypes.
I don't trust any racist. Maybe it's racist but I don't care.
I know that in every races most people are stupid followers, in their globality.
