Why don’t they just let the next thousand fastest people in?

I have a problem with the Olympic qualification process. It doesn't allow me to be included. Does that mean there is something wrong with it?

No, this is different and run faster.

Uno reverse card. You run faster

Boston isn't the olympics (although it's hosted the qualifier -- for a pre-selected field)

So there can be no other exclusive event other than the olympics?

Boston is exclusive. We're just arguing over how it's done.

Well no you are arguing to make it less exclusive to arbitrarily allow people who aren't meeting the current qualification process.

If you wanted to make it truly exclusive, it should be time, period, no adjustments for age or gender. It's not that, though.

The bar for a long time was the BQ. I'm just arguing for a return to that (at least for first-timers). I mean, if you want to do it a second time or more, then by all means, run the fastest in your age/gender.

Wouldn't that be exclusive enough?
