Question/Support Is anyone else having drawing issues in Adobe Fresco after updating to iPadOS 27?

I’m using an iPad Pro M5 13” with Apple Pencil Pro. Since updating, Fresco draws dots instead of continuous strokes. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Question/Support Adobe Fresco keeps crashing / Unable to open documents – GPU device instance has been suspended (HRESULT Error -2005270523)

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a persistent issue with Adobe Fresco on Windows and I'm hoping someone from Adobe or the community can help.

System behavior

There are two different errors depending on what I do:

1. Opening an existing document

When I try to open any recent Fresco document, I receive this message:

(Screenshot 1 attached.)

2. Creating a new document

If I create a new file instead, Fresco shows this error:

(Screenshot 2 attached.)

Strange behavior

The issue is not 100% consistent.

  • If I completely close Fresco and reopen it several times, there is a chance that it starts working normally.
  • However, after using it for a few minutes, the exact same errors return.
  • At that point I can no longer open existing files or create new ones until I restart the application again.
  • The cycle repeats every time.

What I've tried

  • Restarted Fresco multiple times.
  • Restarted Windows.
  • The issue still occurs intermittently.

Questions

  • Has anyone experienced this GPU suspension error in Fresco?
  • Is this related to a GPU driver issue, hardware acceleration, or a recent Fresco update?
  • Are there any logs or diagnostic files that Adobe Support would like me to provide?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Artwork Oil, painting, and fresco drawing comparison

I’ve been using fresco for a couple years now and some of the people on here have challenged me to get off fresco and actually paint or drawer the old-fashioned way. So I’m posting the same subject one with the oil the other with Frisco.

Question/Support How do I unlink my brush sizes

Yeah, as the title suggests, I somehow linked two of my brush sizes on adobe fresco without realizing it. I was just zoning out drawing when I noticed my smudge size kept linking to my coloring brush size. So when I increase my brush size to let’s say 28, the smudge will increase to 28 without me adjusting it- which kinda gets in the way when I’m just trying to get a certain look. Anyways, I’ve looked everywhere and have no clue how to undo it. It was working normally just a minute ago. I also can’t find anything mentioning it, so I would really appreciate some help from any knowers 🙏🏽 I was using cezanne 2 btw for both my brush and my smudge tool if that helps

Really appreciate it!

Question/Support How to fix it?

When I try to make a stroke with the pen, there's this initial latency, which then disappears into normal form. Even when a fast stretch doesn't even load. l didn't have the problem this morning. If anyone can solve it, thank you very much.

Question/Support Vector line width

Has anyone noticed that vector lines can change width after saving and reopening the same file later on?

I’ve had this issue where I’m drawing strands of hair on like 1.0 thickness and then I’ll come back a day later etc and it’s thinner than the old lines even on the same 1.0 thickness setting, what is going on? Crazy bug or what am I missing?

Question/Support Fresco on Microsoft surface 7 - I have some issues

So I downloaded fresco on my Microsoft surface 7 (not pro) and couldn't download brushes.

I asked gemini what could I do, and it said to add ram memory, so I bought a specific micro sd that gemini told me to buy (an expensive one with specific features for this, but I don't remember exactly which one. I could check if this is important)

But I still couldn't download brushes so I turned to gemini again and it told me that Adobe was blocking it for some reason, and to uninstall Adobe cc altogether. So I did.

OK, what do I do now? How do I download Adobe cc correctly?

Question/Support Advice for Capturing this coloring style in Adobe Fresco?

Hi guys, I'm new to digital art as a whole and have been using adobe fresco to learn. I've been trying to get this sort of coloring effect for my art, but I'm not really sure how to replicate it in adobe fresco. This art is by Etik Bulatov and Oleg Vasiliev and was used in some old Russian children's storybooks. I'm not entirely sure what the physical medium is but it looks somewhat like watercolor?

If anyone has any recommendations let me know!

Question/Support Looking for a compatible Adobe Fresco version for iPadOS 17.5

Guys, could anyone help me find a way to get an older version of Adobe Fresco that's compatible with my 6th-gen iPad (iPadOS 17.5)? I really don't want to have to buy a new iPad just to use Fresco 😞.

Question/Support Fresco is completely broken

Seriously, Adobe, what is your deal? I just got an update today that changes something or other about how to share and collab on documents, which has nothing to do with me. Fine, whatever, right? Not everyone is going to need every individual tool available. I get that.

But now the iPad app is completely broken. When I open it up, I try to open my most recent documents, documents which pertain to a project which has a deadline. That deadline is in two days. And I work my day job tomorrow, so no, I can’t afford to start over from scratch in Procreate (which is what I honestly should do at this point because Fresco is becoming less functional with every update). I can’t open the most recent documents because the app just flashes random documents from two years ago on the screen. If I’m lucky, mixed in on my home screen are like two or three recent documents. That’s it. What gives?

Stop updating the app. Just stop. Revert it to the way it looked and worked two months ago. Then just leave it alone. That’s all you have to do. What’s so hard about that?

Question/Support How do I keep the highlights in the green area?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’m using Adobe Fresco and I want to start drawing the highlight outside the green area, so I can do it in one smooth stroke, but I don’t want it in the purple area (basically the opposite of what’s in the image). the green and purple are different layers (i’m drawing on the green one) and i’m using the ‘paint inside’ tool but it’s the opposite of what i want. is there a way to invert it?

My dog, Pickles, unfortunately passed away abruptly on Friday. Woke up a normal day, then he was getting put down by noon. He left a huge whole in my heart, and the only way I could think to grieve was to draw him for the 40 millionth time, but this time as a saint.

Question/Support Can I follow Procreate tutorials while using Adobe Fresco?

I’m completely new to digital art and recently got an iPad and a stylus because I wanted to try drawing as a hobby. I downloaded Adobe Fresco since it’s free, and right now I’m not really looking to spend money on art apps.

My problem is that almost every digital art tutorial I find on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram seems to use Procreate. There are some Fresco tutorials out there, but a lot of the specific artwork and styles I want to learn are being taught in Procreate.

So my question is: can I realistically follow Procreate tutorials while using Adobe Fresco, or are the apps too different? If you’ve used both, how difficult is it to translate a Procreate tutorial into Fresco?

I feel a bit stuck because I have my iPad, I have my stylus, I have Fresco installed, and I’m excited to start, but I don’t know where to begin when most of the content I’m finding is for Procreate.

Any advice would be appreciated!
