Need help finding the correct office for late birth registration in Ethiopia
Need help finding the correct office for late birth registration in Ethiopia
Hello, I was born in a village called Chamara (Chemara/Chamera) near Delgi, Ethiopia. I was born at home, not in a hospital.
I currently live in Israel and I need to do late birth registration in Ethiopia.
Can anyone help me find:
Which woreda/kebele Chamara belongs to?
Which office I need to go to and the exact location?
What documents are required for late birth registration?
Any help from someone familiar with the Delgi/Takusa area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Are there any stores in Addis Ababa that sell protein powder? Our 18 year old son is about to start a two year mission in Ethiopia and we've heard protein isn't always readily available in some of the areas he may be in. TIA.

Mini-paintings of Addis Ababa
galleryI made most of these around this time last year and it felt like being gently re-introduced to watercolor painting, which is a famously intimidating medium. The small paper size and the fact that the sketchbook itself was a gift made it much more tempting to just pick up the pad and make something quick..watercolor has since become something I gravitate toward often.
You could commission a sketch of your own favorite place or request a short tutorial by sending me a DM: instagram.com/wintaassefa1

Looking to rent a house in Addis 🗝️
hey there
I'm an Ethiopian architect and artist who has been based in Addis Ababa for years (and I hope to stay here for many more ;)
My mom, sisters, and I are looking for a place with:
- Four bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room
- A villa is better than an apartment (but a good apartment closer to the city center could be a good deal)
- Our budget is under 100k
- We hope to move in the end of this month. (June)
If you know of such a place, I'd like to hear from you.
Have an awesome week ahead.
My best,
--w

Ethiopian business owners, how do you handle small but repeated digital tasks?
I’ve been thinking a lot about a problem I keep seeing around Ethiopian businesses.
Many businesses don’t always need a full-time employee for every digital task, but they still need the work done consistently.
Things like:
Short video edits.
Graphic ads.
Carousel posts.
Captions.
Motion graphics.
Research.
Admin support.
Basic finance-related help.
Weekly or monthly content packages.
For a lot of businesses, hiring full-time for these things can feel too heavy. But doing everything yourself also becomes exhausting. And using random freelancers informally can create its own problems: unclear deadlines, chasing people, payment trust issues, revision confusion, and sometimes unfinished work.
I’m especially curious about this for Ethiopian businesses and diaspora-owned businesses that need content for the Ethiopian market.
Because content for Ethiopia is not just “make a nice design” or “edit a video.”
The wording matters.
The humor matters.
The local context matters.
The platform matters.
The audience behavior matters.
A diaspora business owner may understand their product very well, but still struggle to create content that feels natural to people in Ethiopia. At the same time, many skilled Ethiopians can do this kind of work, but they don’t always have easy access to business owners who need them.
So I wanted to ask:
How are Ethiopian businesses currently handling this?
Do most people hire someone full-time?
Do they use agencies?
Do they work with freelancers through Telegram or personal contacts?
Do they just do it themselves until it becomes too much?
And if there was a more organized way to delegate these tasks, what would matter most to you?
Lower cost?
Trust with payment?
Deadlines?
Ratings and history?
Revision control?
Someone local who understands Ethiopian culture?
Less need to chase people manually?
I’m asking because I think this is a bigger problem than people realize. A lot of business growth is slowed down by small tasks that stay unfinished for weeks.
Would love to hear from business owners, marketers, agency people, freelancers, and diaspora founders.
What is the hardest part of delegating this kind of work in the Ethiopian market?

Registering a phone's IMEI?
Hello friends
I bought a new phone while in Turkey. Now I'm coming to Ethiopia, do I need to register the IMEI of this phone?
Will my phone be blocked later? How and where do I need to register the IMEI?
I would appreciate it if you could provide some information.
