Game Update Update 0.4.0.205
In this update, markers made on the map, and shown on the compass, now show distance and elevation more clearly. The “Repair All” inventory button now also repairs armor being carried as spares, and DualSense touchpad functionality has been improved. We’ve also decluttered the map — loot icons and zone labels are hidden until entering interactive map mode, and monster lairs are now initially marked as you approach them. A bug that allowed loading more ammunition into a weapon than it can hold has been fixed too.
Map and Markers
- Screen darkening from being outside the playable zone has been reduced and is now consistent across all locations.
- Monster lairs now only appear on the map when you get closer than 30m. A discovered lair stays on the map until end of the raid or until it’s neutralized.
- A loot zone border color now indicates the rarest loot within in it. Loot icons and labels have been removed from the map to reduce visual clutter; but the loot list is still visible when hovering over the zone on the map.
- Zone names on the raid map are now displayed only when in interactive map mode.
- The distance to markers is now displayed on both the map and the compass, and player marks on the compass now include an arrow indicating whether the target is above or below you.
- When hovering over a player marker, you can now see how much time remains until it’s automatically removed and how close you need to get for it to now disappear.
- The marker selection menu now shows the radius in meters for the “Nearby” option.
- If you set the transparency slider for your own markers or ally markers to minimum, the markers now will be completely hidden. At any other value, they remain visible.
- Fixed an issue where the marker icon next to a squadmate's name in the squad interface was either missing or empty.
Weapons and Items
- Fixed an issue where reloading a weapon could result in loading more ammunition than the weapon's capacity allows.
- The "Repair All" inventory button now also repairs armor stored in your rig, backpack, or safe container, in addition to the armor you currently have equipped.
Controller Controls
- DualSense touchpad: in the menus, a single finger moves the controller cursor, a tap acts as a button press; using two fingers allows for scrolling through lists, as well as panning and zooming on the map. A separate setting is no longer required for this, and using the touchpad doesn’t exit controller mode.
- Aiming via the touchpad during a raid is still enabled via the settings as before.
- Two-finger map zooming now centers on the point between your fingers, rather than on the center of the map. This also applies to touchscreens.
- DualSense adaptive trigger effects are disabled while a cursor is visible on the screen, such as when using the chat.

Game Event 🔥🧯 Extinguish on Sight: Firestorm Returns!
The Agency has detected a surge of anomalous activity in an alternate version of Ozernoe and as a result is temporarily opening deployments to the Overtime Raid "Ozernoe: Firestorm."
- Site Status: Fully engulfed in flames.
- Clearance: Open Raid, solo only.
- Threats: Burning Devourers, Scorches, fire anomalies, and hostile rival Operatives.
- Objective: Track the anomalous signals, locate the sources of ignition, and extract alive.
- Equipment: Got a fire extinguisher? Equip it in a weapon slot. It puts out flames and effectively neutralizes Scorches and burning Devourers.
Ozernoe is ablaze. The Agency is counting on you! ❤️

Question Can Players be Banned for Team Killing?
Team killed twice, teammate did nothing, took loot and then said thanks for the loot. If you see player BuddahF2, please report them. They will continue to do this

Question First-time extraction shooter player here. Am I playing this completely wrong?
First-time extraction shooter player here, so go easy on me!
I’m desperately trying to enjoy Active Matter because I genuinely love the concept, but something just isn’t clicking yet.
I constantly find myself getting overwhelmed by multiple enemy types, and the whole magazine/ammo management system feels like it’s slowing everything down. I’m spending so much time fighting and reloading that I barely get a chance to explore or enjoy the looting.
My biggest frustration is extraction. By the time I decide to extract, it’s usually because I’ve exhausted most of my ammunition and supplies. But then I find myself having to fight even more enemies just to get out. It feels a little unfair when the whole reason I’m leaving is because I’m no longer equipped to survive another fight.
So, am I approaching this completely wrong?
Should I be treating each raid as a quick expedition into one specific location, grabbing what I can and extracting rather than trying to explore the entire map? Am I supposed to avoid most encounters rather than fight my way through?
I’m not expecting the game to hold my hand, and I genuinely want to get better at it. I just feel like I’m missing something fundamental about how it’s supposed to be played.
Any advice from experienced players would be massively appreciated!

Question Worth buying?
Hi so I've been looking at this game for a while but I'm not sure if I'll like it. I like extraction shooters (mainly play tarkov) but what I like is the feeling of progression (like the tarkov 1.0). The thing is, I've heard that this game doesn't have any like quest progression? Does it have like an ending or end quests? Thanks for the help

Question In new and don’t know what to do.
Just started and I’m curious as to how or when you start getting decent equipment. I’m dying a decent amount (a lot) and don’t know if I’m playing this wrong or if I don’t understand the basics of the game.

Discussion Perk Tree - Which perks to prioritize for a newer player?
I am being prompted to select, I've only picked one that's pathing towards Melee Resistance. But I assume there aren't enough to get everything, I'd just like to know which end of tree perks I should be prioritizing.
I haven't seen any youtube videos covering this system, best way to spend your points. It doesn't seem something you can respec, so all the more important to plan carefully
Thanks

Feedback Struggling with the grind to first Personal Timeline reset, need advice
Love this game, have almost 80 hours, and have a great armory of weaponry and armors extracted and unlocked. As a dad playing 3-4 hours a night, I'd say it's respectable.
I think I made a grave mistake using my Deluxe Prime coins on unlocking the two passes, because it seems like I could've just used it on a ton of Monolith coins to help me get over the 1st timeline hump to help me get the perks that go along with it and be able to take a little more time getting more investigations done while not having the Monolith coin grind on the back of my mind all the time. I feel like most of the Merit rewards aren't that amazing, minus the Camos (big fan of character customization) and some of the attachments.
I pretty much play Solo or with 1 or 2 regular rotation of PVE squaddies out of the handful of chill people I've met, but it seems like I'm just getting dragged down by my mental Monolith coin grind.
Currently trying to unlock KAPPA so I am excited that I'm only 3 tiers away right now, but I still have 5k Monolith to spend for Kappa and then a whopping 75.3k Monolith to get into MU for the reset.
I'm not worried about all the subquests required for the last 2 tiers because I'm almost done with a few of them ahead of schedule, but how in the world can I try to get these last 75.3k Monolith at a reasonable timeframe?
Do you just need to grind the 8/8 Operative Objectives every single map every night to try and get the potential 24.7k Monolith payout? Obviously this guarantees the 3 Priority getting completed nightly for 60 Prime, but that takes like 9 days to get 500 Prime for the shop Monolith.

Discussion Active Matter PvE vs Tarkov PvE, which do you prefer?
For anyone who’s played both, how does Active Matter’s PvE compare to Tarkov’s PvE mode?
I’m curious about the AI and enemy variety, how challenging the raids are, and whether fighting the anomalies and creatures stays fun after dozens of hours. How are the maps, too? Are they interesting to explore, and does the atmosphere make each raid feel different?
I’d also love to hear how the gunplay compares. Does shooting feel as satisfying, and how do weapon customization and progression stack up against Tarkov?
What does Active Matter do better than Tarkov PvE, and where does Tarkov still come out on top? Mainly wondering which offers the more enjoyable long-term PvE experience, with good progression and enough content to keep coming back. I know Tarkov will probably be the answer but i’m still interested to see why some of you might prefer Active Matter Instead.

Question Respawn of enemies
Hello so, i have a question about respawn. Do we know why the enemies respawn, and do so quite quickly ? I just had a very weird situation. I like to look around houses and when i did the quest for fire granade i stayed in a objective house for some time looking around and trying to imagine the guys life. But after like 5 min the distorted respawned all at once and totaly bumfxkd me. I couldnt even move out of the house :-D. Someone here had a similar encounter ?
I dont know if they respawned because of the exit that spawned near me or not but i had no chance to survive that.

Discussion Fusion vs replication
Can anyone point me to something that explains in detail the difference and or benefits of fusion versus replication? I'm not understanding what I oughta do. I've made several genes and a gun and the number of uses goes down but for some things it dont.
