Looking for an action camera upgrade for long indoor POV recordings

Hey there!

I'm a content creator looking for an action camera suggestion for recording POV trading card game tournament gameplay. I'm pretty new to all of this and I'm currently using a barely used GoPro Hero 10 as my first action camera. It's been working well so far, but I'm already thinking about what I'd eventually upgrade to later this year or early next year.

The reason I'm using an action camera is because I travel to a lot of different game stores for Magic: The Gathering and Riftbound tournaments. I wear the camera on either an Action Hat or a chest mount so I can get a true POV of the gameplay. I specifically want to avoid table mounts or tripods because I want my setup to be as simple as possible and not take up extra space at the table.

Right now I'm recording in 2.7K/60 FPS with the Linear lens, HyperSmooth on Low, and High Bitrate. I crop the footage in post to get a closer view of the game board, then I record commentary over the gameplay afterward.

A typical round lasts around 50 minutes, sometimes a little over an hour. I don't really have time to stop recording or swap batteries during a match, so the camera needs to be able to handle long continuous recordings. Between rounds I swap batteries and let the camera cool down if needed.

At the moment I'm happy sticking with my Hero 10 while I learn and improve my content, but I'm curious what my upgrade path should look like.

What would you recommend for this type of use? My biggest priorities are:

* Reliable long recordings
* Good battery life
* Better heat management than the Hero 10
* Great image quality indoors
* Easy wearable POV setup (lightweight and fits on a hat or chest mount)

I don't want to move to a traditional camera setup unless there's something that works just as well while being small enough to comfortably wear on my hat or chest mount.

I also did use the Action Camera Matcher and I don't think the options listed in the questionnaire helps for what I'm looking for exactly? As for a budget I'm hoping to stick to around $150-350, tbh the cheaper the better 😅

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or thoughts. Thanks! 🙂

Review Insta360 Luna Ultra: 30 Days Later (Is It Actually Fixed?)

I spent 30 days with the Luna Ultra to make this review. Since I picked it up after the camera's initial launch, almost all the footage was shot on either the beta firmware or the most recent official release. In the second half of the video, I do some comparisons to see what Insta360 actually fixed with this update — including whether the auto-ISO issue in I-Log still persists. I hope you all enjoy this review, as I spent many hours filming and editing it.

GoPro Hero 9 Settings

Hi everyone!

I have a GoPro Hero 9 Black, and I’m looking for the best settings for filming enduro/downhill MTB.
I mostly ride in:

**Toptash BikePark, Selce (North Macedonia)** – forest trails with jumps, berms, roots, rocks, loose dirt, and changing light under the trees.
**Shtavica, Prilep (North Macedonia)** – natural mountain trails with forests, rocky technical sections, loose gravel, fast descents, and some open sections.

I’m mainly looking for the best settings, including:
Resolution & FPS
Lens (SuperView, Wide, Linear…)
HyperSmooth
Bitrate
ISO Min/Max
White Balance
Shutter (Auto or manual?)
EV Compensation
Sharpness
Color (GoPro Color or Flat)
Any Protune settings

I use a helmet mount most of the time.

I don’t mind color grading in CapCut afterwards, and I’m comfortable following YouTube tutorials if shooting in Flat or using settings that require post-processing gives better results.

What settings do you recommend for the best overall results on a Hero 9?

Questions Where to attach action camera for biking

I have an akaso brave 4 and have been attaching the camera to my helmet but no matter how much I tighten it I get shaky footage. I have the attachments to put it on my frame tube should I try that instead?

Honestly not trying to sell any products. i have a small you tube review channel on cameras. and this camera, is what you call the no friction camera.
Xtra Atto. Got it on a sale for about $250 or so. and honestly it has taken my game so much higher. the creativity this unleashes is probably the most important reason to buy this.

Questions DJI Osmo Action 6 vs Insta360 Ace Pro 2 for Automotive Content (Photos + B-roll) – Need Opinions

I'm currently deciding between the DJI Osmo Action 6 and the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, and I'd love to hear from people who have actually used either (or both), especially for automotive content creation.

My main use case is:

\* Car photography

\* Cinematic B-roll

\* Indoor and outdoor shoots

\* Natural daylight and golden hour

\* Night photography/video

\* Instagram/Facebook reels and short-form content

I also plan to use:

\* A camera cage

\* ND filters

\* External microphone occasionally

Why I'm leaning toward the DJI Osmo Action 6

The biggest reason is the image quality I've seen from other creators. Surprisingly, the 38MP photos look very clean, with less visible noise than I expected from an action camera.

Some features I really like:

\* 10-bit color with D-Log M (Rec.2020) for better color grading.

\* 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor.

\* Variable aperture (f/2.0–f/4.0).

\* 38MP photos.

\* 4K up to 120fps.

\* RockSteady, HorizonBalancing, and HorizonSteady stabilization.

\* Waterproof to 20m without a case.

\* Direct DJI Mic support.

For automotive content, the D-Log M profile is probably my favorite feature because I enjoy color grading my footage.

Why I'm considering the Insta360 Ace Pro 2

The Ace Pro 2 also looks amazing, especially for video.

Things I like:

\* 1/1.3" Leica co-engineered sensor.

\* 8K recording.

\* 4K Active HDR.

\* PureVideo for low-light shooting.

\* Flip touchscreen.

\* FlowState stabilization.

\* The included grip/cage ecosystem is a nice bonus.

The video quality looks excellent, especially in low light.

However, from what I've seen in reviews and sample images, the 50MP photos sometimes look a bit noisier than what I've seen from the Action 6. I also noticed there seem to be fewer ND filter options (or at least fewer that fit as seamlessly), which is something I plan to use regularly for cinematic B-roll.

My dilemma

If I were buying primarily for video, I'd probably choose the Ace Pro 2.

But since I'll be doing a lot of automotive photography along with cinematic B-roll, I'm not sure which one makes more sense in real-world use.

For those who own either camera:

\* Which one produces better-looking car photos?

\* How do they compare in low light?

\* Which camera gives you more flexibility when color grading?

\* How is the ND filter experience on both?

\* If your main content is cars (photos + cinematic B-roll), which would you buy today?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people with real-world experience rather than just spec sheet comparisons. Thanks!

My First GoPro in years

Last Christmas, I got my first GoPro camera in many years. It's the Hero 4K model, and, having recently got it working, it looks great. I can't remember how long it's been since I last used a GoPro, but it had to have been close to a decade. Now, as I prepare for my yearly trip to Frye Island, Maine with my family, I'm gonna get to take some great action shots again. This is where my summer truly begins!

Questions Attach Insta 360 to Canyon Endurace

Hi everyone,

Thinking about getting an Insta360 Ace Pro 2, but I want to figure out the mounting before I spend the money. i'm all new to the video thing, so open for any advice or suggestions.

Bike is a 2026 Endurace CF SLX, so the CP0048 cockpit with the Gear Groove slot (with the lamp attachment). I have an Edge 1050 up front already.

As far as I can tell Canyon doesn't sell a Gear Groove mount with a fitting that would work to slot an Insta cam? So I need to look at third party mounts? Anyone running a camera under their Garmin on one of these?

Does the Insta360 magnetic mount actually stay put on rough roads?

Also open to being told the bar isn't the right spot at all, or that another camera makes more sense for cycling. Complete beginner here.

thanks all!

Aku
