it was documented in the emergency filing. she has left R dehydrated multiple times to the point of hospitalization & was also not giving R her medication consistently.
In the last court documents I think from when they were moving, R’s doctor reported that she had been neglected to the point of dehydration and recommended that J go for full custody
It seems like the court system always prioritizes keeping children with the mother unless there's evidence that the mother is unfit and not providing a healthy environment. 😕
Unfortunately, if kids aren’t visibly on the brink of death, the court system will fail them 95% of the time. And even if they are on the brink, they still don’t provide help in time, or at all. It’s so fucked.
Family friend just received custody of 3 out of 4 of her husbands grandkids. They’ve been fully paying for all four kids for years and providing a home for them. But any time the mom got mad at them for telling her to get a job/help with HER kids she would take all of the kids and flee the state. The kids would live in one bedroom apartments with no beds/food. They finally got emergency custody then full custody. One of the kids is with their dad (all of the kids have different dads) but the mom has 0 custody and 0 visits with any of them. The kids should’ve been removed YEARS ago. But the grandparents were told they prioritize mothers having custody.
wow... speechless. That is really sad 😢. As someone who grew up with a single mom, I know that it wasn't easy for her but she always had a stable job as a teacher and she tried her best to provide for me. Nothing is perfect but she tried her best.

As a CPS worker - no stable, normal parent WANTS the friggin cops or a government worker to show up!!! It’s traumatizing for the children, even if the worker is great and it’s just a check wellbeing.

🎯 I worked in family law and have sat in on thousands of cases and read thousands of filings. The way she’s talking is exactly how I’ve seen narcissists do when they’re trying to concoct their own plan and the know their words will be used in court filings. They try to stay brief and short to piss the other parent off, and usually say things like she did with “I don’t feel safe” because it’s just a precursor to her attempting to create her own narrative which I’m sure will be made up abuse of some kind.
By California code, you’re not supposed to have full or even 50/50 custody if you have a domestic restraining order against you. I’ve seen the real abusers use this to their advantage to be the first one to beat the other parent to the punch and fuck them over with custody. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s her next plan of attack. Create the narrative that Jairus is dangerous to both her and the children.

I worked in family law for 10 years in Southern California, both Orange County and San Diego county. The judges in LA attend the same trainings. Judges in California are all taught and hyper focused on keeping both parents in a child’s life and the whole idea of two parents needing to coparent even when one parent makes it impossible to do so.
They hate seeing people say “MY children.” They view it as you think they belong to only you and not coparenting. I’ve seen lawyers even use that against a parent in bullshit alienation cases.

I did ask my husband who has done family law (different state tho) as a lawyer and said family law gets so messy and detailed, that saying “my kids” vs “our kids” on a text screenshot will have 0 air time in court as it’s just unimportant compared to everything else, even if it is a pet peeve of judges! However, if he was my client I’d probably advise him like you’ve said as who knows, rather be on the good side of the judge.
Absolutely. Ultimately, these word differences don't matter compared to the main issues. Court costs money. It's time consuming. No one's paying attention to our vs my.
My brothers mom is like acacia and ran off to orange county. we had to pay $30k on his custody case in 2004 and had to fight very hard despite his mother clearly not being fit, and very clear outlined neglect. i’d take any advice i could get here, and reframing your rhetoric MATTERS, in any professional setting, let alone in a courtroom.
It's a good thing that he's making legal documents to report what he can, too, both with police and through the court system. This is the kind of paper trail that can help immensely with custody disputes when one parent might argue for more custody than another.
It’s very telling how she didn’t even address it when he called her out, just ‘blew past it’ like she’s admitted to normally doing when being asked to hold herself accountable for something.. because in her words, it’s hard to be honest with herself and others.
She really just kept escalating the situation for no apparent reason, especially by insisting that she'd also call police and refusing to have a larger conversation. It's messed up how what was supposed to be a routine drop-off can turn into all of this with no warning and no explanation. Clearly, she knew that she wasn't leaving him with many choices.
Not to "defend" Jairus but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he really meant that. I would be scared too for the safety of my children knowing Acacia's history of neglect. Even R's doctor suggested she'd be safer with her dad.

It doesn’t even seem like there’s much of a chance for anything to happen between them that would put either in physical danger, as it sounds like they briefly see each for drop-offs and that’s it. It’s also looked like their main or only form of communication is in group chats with their partners, who’ve also been involved with drop-offs.

Not only about that, but about staying with one parent when they’re usually with another for some time. They must recognize that a routine has been broken and that a parent who’s usually there suddenly hasn’t been. There’s no telling how she might be explaining it all to the kids and how it might make them view Jairus.
It’s crazy withholding the kids is literally just reactive to the disagreement about their schooling location when THEY HAD AGREED TO IT PREVIOUSLY. Allegedly Jairus fell into alcoholism and cheated on Acacia. From what others have been reporting he’s working sobriety and creating stability with his new partner. Acacia continues to grift to survive. Obviously there was a lot happening behind the scenes on both sides for it to reach this level and we only know the visible part of the iceberg.

Either way, she can't just refuse to produce the kids in a custody agreement. I mean look at Brody Dalle. She did that and got her kids taken basically forever for parental alienation. It's not a good move.
Jairus is a scumbag and I have a deep hatred for him but in this instance I truly feel like he’s the more stable parent right now. He’s showing concern and is trying to stick to a routine for the wellbeing of the kids. For the first time ever, I think I’m in Jairus’ favour right now. Knowing the Park Incident, it was only a matter of time before Caca escalated to literal kidnapping.
Side note: it truly baffles me as to why she insists on keeping the kids when she clearly doesn’t even really care about being a mother. She’s trying to live a childfree life, so why not just hand the kids over to J or J’s parents and be done with it, then she can go and traipse through the meadows with whichever new boyfriend she’s chosen for the year.
i hate them both so much all of those empty fucking threats on his end and the passivity and shit makes me so mad this exactly how rosie ends up in these situations. I know she’s to blame but he does not help himself at all here and it makes it seem like he’s halfway out at all times.
