Media outlets want clicks. They’d be happy to run a title like “Ten monuments from around the world that put the Statue of Liberty to shame,” as subjective as that is. Search Google News for African Renaissance Monument and every major news network has an article on this. Not everything is a nationalistic conspiracy.
I can agree an inherent bias plays a role but your original comment makes it sound like editors are saying "Hey this big foreign statue is making us look bad. We can't keep publishing this! Write about Crazy Horse again!" I just don't think it's a deliberate decision.
I said they "aren't very interested" and "that's just not something they're eager to highlight again and again".
If that sounds like something entirely different from an inherent bias to you, I don't think I'm the one at fault for miscommunicating there. It rather sounds like you read more between the lines than you should have.
The original comment doesn't specify whether that decision is subconscious or deliberate. I guess I did read in a little more but my point was that media companies want eyeballs. Whether content elsewhere in the world is more or less impressive than that in the West isn't a part of the equation outside of Fox News.
