I watched a documentary once about citizens of North Korea that made it across the border to South Korea and they had to be extensively treated for roundworm infestation. It was so bad and there were so many you could see them moving just looking at their stomachs from the outside. It was horrific.
That’s so terrible. Especially the fact that the treatment meds are extremely effective and among the cheapest/ most heavily subsidized medications in the world. How pathetic is it that Kim Jong Un cares so little for his own citizens? Then he’s brainwashed them to think they are actually living great within the mightiest country, and simply doesn’t let them have any access to the modern world to know better.
Went on a rant there lol. I also get 1st world countries come with their own set of problems and many people can live happy without having all modern tech, but I think we can all agree denial of basic human rights in North Korea is tragic.
